Should You Really Leave Auto Repair To Your Professional Mechanic? Every car fails
sooner or later, and that's a well known fact! Having said that, some cars are prone to malfunctioning than others, of course, if you're in the tough situation, you may be left to wonder: can i attempt a DIY auto repair or work with a mechanic? An oil change is a good example of something a good novice driver could do, but if you have troubles beyond that, obtaining a car mechanic to accomplish the repairs can be a great idea and here's why: Experience You possess absolutely no idea what you're doing and you can actually find yourself making things worse. Even though you feel like you're a DIY savvy person, you can wind up causing other parts of your car to malfunction. In addition to, you simply have no idea what's actually wrong along with your vehicle, unless you bring it apart and hope with all your might you are able to use it together again again. An auto mechanic continues to be doing this for years and he can simply diagnose and repair any problem your car or truck can be against. Right Tools You need the right tools plus a decent workspace to start concentrating on auto repair. Unless you have a full garage with equipment and tools committed to this task, you need to purchase the essential tools to repair your car. Of course, without prior experience dealing with car repair, you may possibly not know what you need to purchase, along with, you might never use these tools again. Working with a professional car mechanic can eliminate the requirement for anyone to invest money into tools and equipment you're unlikely to utilize again as he will have everything available. Speedy Repairs If you have only one household car you should employ to get to work on time, you have to be sure your car is fixed as quickly as possible. Of course, in the event you attempt a DIY repair, things may go wrong, and even whenever they don't, it may take you a lot much more time to get your vehicle running than if you decide to hire a mechanic. Maybe you have your automobile from commission for a day or two when taking it to your mechanic, but it sure beats the inability to go to work! Spend Less Perhaps probably the most compelling top reasons to drop your car off for repair in a mechanic's is to save money. You won't must invest money into tools, equipment, and auto parts you might never need. Along with, while your automobile has run out of commission, you might need to rent a vehicle or take the bus-- costing you even more cash! Hiring a mechanic for auto repair could help you save inside the long run, specifically if you consider that employment well done can prolong the lifestyle of the vehicle. Next time your vehicle will give you trouble, why not stop at the car mechanic's?

Career Change To: (Automotive Tech, Mechanic) Best Ten Car Collision Repair in Bullhead City Directory?
Ok, Im Already 33 Years Old, I Worked In Banks All My Life And It'S An Ok Job. But I Am Tired Of It, Tired Of Seating On A Desk All Day With A Phone.
I Want To Be An Automotive Technician (Mechanic) I Don'T Know Anything About Cars But I Love It. If I Could To A Training School And Get Just Basic Certification. Can I Start Working Right Away? Is It Hard To Get A Job Like That After Im Certified Or They Prefer People With Lots Of Experience....
Once Again, It'S Not Really The Money Or The Need Because I Make Ok Money Like 35K A Year But I Want A Big Change In My Life.
Any Suggestions, Advices
I've been doing this for more than 30 years; automotive industry isn't what it used to be. Best Ten Car Collision Repair in Bullhead City Directory
You have to keep up with ever changing demands, especially electronics, transmission, engines and drive-ability. You cannot afford to fall behind; if you do then you won't be making any money.
Right now it is bad time to become automotive technician.Nobody is making money. The economy isn’t that good and many people cannot afford to have their vehicles repaired.
There are few good Technical Schools but they aren’t worth a penny because I’ve seen student graduates from them and ‘expect” to make more than 18 dollars an hour, unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way. You have to start from the bottom and work your way up.
I've also seen them excel in tests and quizzes but failed miserably when it comes to fix the vehicles. Best Ten Car Collision Repair in Bullhead City Directory
On top of that, many dealerships preferred technician that already has manufacture trainings, it is a lot more than basic certifications.
If you're GM certified tech, then good luck finding any job beside GM dealership. Ford won't hire you, Dodge won't hire you, and the list goes on and on or you can find a job in auto repair shop but most of them don't give you good pay and benefits.
Nowadays, good technicians are hard to find because most inexperience techs are just parts replacer, they really don't take their time and diagnosis any vehicle properly. Top Ten Car Collision Repair in Bullhead City Directory
Example, Oxygen sensor codes, 99% of them [including internet expert] would simply replace oxygen sensor.
Good tech will interpret the code description and find out why and then fixed the problem.
Bottom line, good technician can easily make over 50k a year that because this particular tech has the will and motivation to keep up ever changing automotive industry.
If you have that attitude then go for it otherwise seek different job.

I Try Again Same Thing But Then It Does Start But Still Not 100% Still Puttering Kind Of. I Hit The Gas Then It Sounds Fine.

So My Question Is... What'S Wrong 10 Best Car Collision Repair in Bullhead City Directory?

1993 Toyota 4 Runner Wont Start?
So My 1993 Toyota 4Runner Has Been Running Rough For A Couple Days. Drove It Yesterday And Noticed It Was Overheating. Turned It Off And Had It Towed Home. I Filled It Up With Coolant (It Had All Leaked Out) And Checked The Rest Of The Fluids (No Water In The Oil). But Now It Wont Start It Just Cranks And Barely Fires. What May Be The Issue And What Should I Check.
Any Help Would Be Great. Thank You
really, you need to determine how you lost all that coolant first. prolly point to the cause of the issue.
me thinks you should suspect the worst.
pull plugs and see if they are fouled. prolly water foul. despite no water in oil. that would point to a water jacket/combustion chamber sealing issue for what ever reason.
at the onset, there maybe no signs of cross contamination of fluids and still have a bad head gasket.
i think you caught this relatively early. but if it is a head gasket, and this is a 3VZE V6, set some extra bucks aside for new timing belt and water pump. as the procedure for doing a head gasket will have those items exposed.
if this is a 22RE I4, get the timing chain assem inspected as well.

Car Help(Need A Good Mechanic To Answer Question)?
Hello, I Own A 1993 Toyota Camry Le With 117 K Miles And I Purshaced The Car In Late July With 114K Miles..Ever Since I Had The Car It Always Had A Rough Idle..I Put So Much Money Into It Trying To Figure Out What The Problem Was..New Timing Belt,Water Pump,Fuel Filter,Spark Plugs,Ignition Wires,Rotor,Distibutor Cap,Throttle Body Cleaning/Fuel Injection Cleaning,Alot Of Work And Still Did Not Find The Problem Of What It Could Possibly Be..Now Yesterday I Was Going About 40Mph Up A Hill And I Stopped To Turn..My Car'S Rpms Started Fluctuation Really Bad And It Stalled, I Smelled A Very Strong Burnt Smell For A Couple Mins..Then Tried Starting It Back Up And It Started Up Fine And Drove Fine.. But It Doesent Make Any Sence To Me..Please Let Me Know What Use Think Could Be The Problem.Thank You So Much
Locate and clean out your IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE. It is near your throttle body. Use Gum-out spray, or AMSOIL foaming cleaner, if you can find it. Hopefully, this car has genuine TOYOTA coolant and not local parts store, green stuff. Over time, this coolant will eat holes through the head gasket and the aluminum alloy in the cylinder head, causing rough idling problems. You did the right thing by using a fuel injector cleaner (Techron is the best). Hopefully, you used NGK or DENSO spark plugs, and not el cheapos from the local auto parts store. Replacing wires and cap and rotor may have been a waste of money. If your distributor is mounted on the side of the engine (cam driven) remove the cap and rotor and spray the inside of it with brake cleaner. This will dislodge any oil sludge that may have wandered inside, a common trouble on these cars. This will stabilize the ignition. The burning smell that disappeared might mean that your alternator bearings or regulator are beginning to burn up. Get a free charging system test at AutoZone. Power wash your engine, especially around the battery terminals, and where they connect to the starter and chassis. Good luck!!
How Much Would It Cost To Overhaul An Engine Myself?
I Graduated From Universal Technical Institute And I Know How To Rebuild An Engine Pretty Well But Ever Since Before I Never Payed For Parts Because When I Was Younger By Dad Bought All The Parts And In School, The School Supplied All The Parts. Now, My Brother Has A 1997 Toyota Camry 2.2 L 4 Cyl. And I Want To Full Overhaul It From The Cams All The Way Down To The Crank. How Much Would All The Parts Cost Such As Bearings, Rings All The Seals Etc. .. I Just Need An Estimate
Assuming you will reuse the pistons, connecting rods, cam, crank and valves, you can expect to spend $600-700 for the other parts (rings, bearings, seals, head gasket, oil pan gasket, hoses, plugs, belts, etc. You'll also have the expense (unless you have the equipment to do it yourself) of sending the head, crank and cams to a machine shop to have the valve seats done, and the crank and cams to be micrometered to check for wear, and ground to fit over-sized bearings if needed. Expect to buy a few extra tools as well, such as a ring compressor, a cylinder hone, a good torque wrench, etc.
1995 Ford Contour Still Won'T Start?
I'M Stumped. I Have A 1995 Ford Contour Which Will Crank But Not Start. I Have Tried Re-Timing It, Using Starting Fluid, Checked For Spark, Installed New Spark Plugs, Checked Compression, Fuel Pump Primes With Good Pressure, Nothing Seems Bad. Compression Is As Follows:
3- 65Psi (The Bad One)
4- 80Psi (The Other Bad One)
These Were Done With The Engine Cold, At Wide Open Throttle And Spark Plugs All Removed.
I Put A New Head Gasket In It, So It'S Probably Just Blow By Causing The Low Compression. But It Still Should Start. Especially With Starting Fluid.
It Ran Before The Head Gasket Went Out, Sat For 5 Months, Now After A New Gasket, Won'T Run.
Timing Is Dead On. I Have Checked It 5 Times, Advanced It, Retarded It, Set It Dead On Too.
It Does Sputter Like It Wants To Start, But Only With The Throttle Wide Open. I Removed The Fuel Pump Relay, And Tried Starting It With Starting Fluid Only Also But It Just Sputters. So It'S Not Flooded Either. The Cylinder Looks Wet But Only After Reinstalling The Relay.
It Seems Like Timing, But It'S Dead On. (I Replaced The Head Gasket 11Mos Ago Too And It Ran Fine.
Any Help Would Be Appreciated.
Double check that the Cam is in the correct position. Your crank timing might be on, but if the cam is even just one tooth off it can cause the motor to not run.
Cooling System On 98 Ford Contour 2.0 Is Not Working. ?
Replaced Thermostat And Radiator Fan - Both Working. Car Gets To Hot After About 7 Miles Of City Driving. A/C Begins Blowing Hot Humid Air After ~3 Miles. All Fluid Levels Are Good. Turning On Heater To Blow Off Hot Air Does Not Help. Water Pump Replaced Last Year When Timing Belt Broke.
check the oil to see if it has a milky color to it, like from the coolant mixing with the oil, if thats the case you most likely have a blown head gasket.
A blown head gasket is the single most causes of overheating
