How Much Does It Cost Replace Head Gasket On 91 Toyota Camry?
I Have A 91 Toyota Camry V6 For Four Door That Need Repair On Head Gasket Or Need To Be Replace. How Much Would U Think It Would Cost Top Ten Tire Balancing in Bullhead Directory ?

I've worked for a Jeep/Chrysler/Toyota dealer for twenty nine years now and there is no repairing the head gasket it must be replaced. Now if you got the engine too hot it may have a warped cylinder head as well. If it's just a blown head gasket my garage will charge between $700-$800 labor and about $125 for parts. If it needs some mill work done to the heads as well tack on about $300.00 more dollars. You're looking at about 1100-1200 at a Toyota dealership.
Now for what you should do. Find someone you know to do this that is either a reputable dealer mechanic or a knowledgeable trusted friend. If you lived in Central Illinois i would do it because thats what i do when not at the shop because people are coming to me left and right to avoid having to pay the dealers fees and labor. If i was to do this exact job you would be looking at 75-100 for the gasket and 50 percent labor of the dealership. That would bring you to about $500-600 dollars for a professionally trained tech to do this job. Any more and your getting robbed and any less the person doing it doesnt probably know what theyre doing. All my labor and parts info was directly from our Dealership labor/parts program. Hope this answers your quiry. 10 Best Tire Balancing in Bullhead Directory

Cooling Problem On '79 Ford Bronco Bbf Best Ten Tire Balancing in Bullhead Directory ?
Actually This Isn'T Really A Cooling Problem, More Like A Coolant Problem. Under Normal Operating Temperature My Radiator Pukes About A Gallon Of Anti Freeze If I Get On The Gas. I Have Replaced The Following To Try And Fix This. Water Pump, And Backing Plate, Thermostat (With A 180), And All Hoses. Can Anyone Point Me In The Right Direction Here? I Was Told When I Rebuilt My Engine I May Have Put The Heads On The Wrong Sides And This Could Be Partially Blocking Water Jackets, I Really Do Not Want To Take My Engine Apart Again So Any Information Would Be Nice. Oh And The Engine Is A Built Up 429 Thunderjet With A Pretty Rank Cam And .30 Over Pistons.

make sure you have a spring loaded radiator cap that meets the specks for your vehicle. the cap opens at certain pressures [usually above boiling] and releases coolant into the over flow tank and later the coolant is sucked back into the radiator. this is normal. installing a lower t-stat will usually enhance the problem because the coolant will not stay in the radiator long enough to transfer away the heat properly. it could be other things causing the problem, and the heads are the same so don't worry about that statement. any time you bore a motor you thin the cylinder walls allowing more heat to enter the cooling system. this can be a big problem in high performance engines so that's why the parts boys sell high dollar aluminum radiators. anyway good luck on solving the up chucking ford. by the way is that the original motor? how about the radiator Best Ten Tire Balancing in Bullhead Directory ?

I Need Help On Know What Is The Smog Check Does And What If My Car Fails It ?
What Is Somg Check, What Do They Do And What If The Car Fails. Tell Me Everything U Know Plz. And How Much To Fix It? Asap Thanx In Advance

Smog Check is a State Mandated Emission performance test. If your vehicle is less than 10 years old and has less than 100,000 miles on it, any and all repairs necessary to meet the test requirements are the manufacturers responsibility (exception: vehicle purchased in another state with lower standards!).

Over 10Y &100K You the owner are responsible for any repairs necessary and repair cost is totally dependent on the cause of the failure. Depending on the specific state law you will have a limited time - usually 2 weeks to 1 month - to have the vehicle repaired and re-tested.

If your vehicle fails, get both the test print out and an estimate of repair from the testing facility, then print out in hand get at least 2 and preferably 3 more estimates of the repair cost, I recommend choosing the shop with a middle of the group estimate, the low ball estimate may have overlooked something or be trying to get you on the rack and scattered across the shop - at which time they will "find" several additional items which critically need repair! (Can you say "Bait and Switch?) Yes it is time consuming but it may save you literally hundreds of dollars - some shops seem to think a failed smog check is a license to steal - and unless you are prepared to do some leg work you will not know weather the services recommended are necessary / suggested / or just smoke being blown up your proverbial skirt!

I Have Oil On My Spark Plug Threads On A 99 Ford Contour, Antifreeze Is A Muddy Brown, And No Coolant In Oil?
I Have A 99 Ford Contour 4 Cylinder There Is Oil On The 2 Right Spark Plugs On The Threads, The Coolant Is Also Muddy Brown. There Is No Water Or Coolant In The Oil, The Oil Looks Fine, I Did A Compression Test And All Cylinders Ran 180 Lbs But My Tester Dose Not Show If It Leaks Im Curious If The Head Gasket Is Bad, But If So Why Isnt There Coolant In My Oil.

im not sure, but possiably it could be where its blown and the direction of the flow, or maybe if it has set or had alot of water in the antifreeze, the muddy look could be just rust

Oldsmobile Alero Electrical/Heat Issue?
3.4L V6, And While It Has Been A Great Car For Most Of The Time I'Ve Had It, I'M Having Some Issues. I Just Had The Rotors, Pads, One Of The Tie Rods, And An Oil Pressure Switch Replaced. But This Is A Completely New Ball Game. This Started A Year Ago, But Only Happened Once, So I Ignored It. It Was A Very Cold Winter Night, And It Was Spitting A Wet Snow/Sleet Mix, And I Was On The Highway. The Car Was Running Fine, But I Started To Notice The Cabin Becoming Cool, Then Freezing Cold, To The Point That My Breath Was Visible, And Frost Was Forming On The Interior Of The Window From The Moisture In My Breath. I Got Home, But Had Finals, So I Was Unable To Take Care Of It, But It Never Did It After That Night, So I Left Well Enough Alone. A Few Weeks Ago, I Noticed That The Turn Signals Occasionally Fail To Come On. It'S Very Seldom, But Sometimes They Just Fail. The Heat Has Again Decided To Fail, But Now It Is Any Time There Is Any Precipitation When I Am Traveling At Highway Speed. The Thermostat Is Fine, Because There Is Still Hot Air Being Generated By The Car, But The Fan Is Not Blowing It Into The Cabin, So The Passenger Cabin Becomes Very Cold (37 Degrees Out Tonight, And The Cabin Temperature Fell Below 45 Degrees With Heat On Full). Another Thing Of Note: It Has A Hard Time Starting In Cold Weather, And The Battery Is Not Even A Year Old. I'M Likely Taking It In For Diagnostics In The Morning, But Want To Be Somewhat Informed, Because I Don'T Want To Get Taken. What Is It Likely To Be?

it could be something as simple as a corroded positive battery terminal, the two cables that run to the side post battery are stacked on top of each other and have a tendency to corrode which cuts down on the electrical flow to your starter and computer controls. although it could be much worse olds alero's aren't very well built cars and you have a lot of miles and years on your car. you may be at the cutoff point where it will cost more to fix the car than its worth. you need to take this into consideration if you're looking at spending a lot of money on an old piece of junk.

Calling All Auto Mechanics...?
I'M Writing A Short Story, And I Need A Reason Why An Auto Mechanic Might Get Mad At A Coworker. Can Be Anything. I Just Need Ideas, And I'M Running A Blank. Thanks.

Steals (or just borrows) tools - mechanics can be very possessive about their tools, I know I don't lend mine out to anybody!
Does a bad job - Any decent mechanic takes pride in not only their work, but the work of their garage too, and would get annoyed if a co-worker was doing shoddy work / cutting corners.
Slacks off - decent mechanics are hard working, and would get annoyed at a slacking co-worker.

'86 Toyota 4Runner Problem... Please Help!!!?
Ok... My Dad Has A 1986 Toyota 4Runner. It Blew A Head Gasket, So He Went Ahead And Pulled The Engine Out So He Could Change The Head Gasket And Change Some Kind Of Bearings In The Bottom Because It Wasn'T Running Too Smoothly Before Anyway. Well, He Got The Engine Back In And When He Goes To Start It, It Tries To Turn Over, But Blows A Fuse To The Fuel Pump So It'S Not Getting Any Gas. He Thought It May Have Been The Fuel Injectors Grounding Out So He Ordered Some New Ones. Well, It Still Isn'T Working. It Still Blows The Fuse When He Turns The Ignition Over. He Can Unhook The Ground Wire And It Tries To Start And Doesn'T Blow The Fuse, But Of Course He Can'T Leave It Like That. Does Anyone Have Any Ideas On What The Problem Might Be? My Dad Has Worked On Cars All His Life And He'S Just Stumped!! Thank You In Advance!

sounds like the fuel pump wire is pinched and is shorting out to ground.he needs to check for any wires that might have gotten nicked or clamped between the bell housing and engine.or around the motor mounts, when the engine was removed or reinstalled.that probably has the 22r engine which is a terrific little engine and is quite simple.just double check all wiring in the engine bay around the engine.also get a haines manual for the vehicle.they are the holy grail of manuals

Since I Don'T Have My Fishing License Yet, It Is Bad That I'M Hanging.........................................?
...An 8-Inch Huddleston Deluxe Swimbait Off My Backpack And Taking It To School With Me? The Way I See It, Since I Can'T Go Fishing, I May As Well Carry Something Fishing Related With Me While I'M At School. Maybe It'Ll Help Take The Edge Off, I Dunno. It Could Very Well Possibly Be My Good-Luck Charm! What Do You Think?

Got my fishing license on Monday, went out Monday afternoon in Long Beach Harbor and got a 20 lb halibut on my last drift before heading in. At Costco yesterday, halibut was selling for $16.50 per pound. It's Thursday, and I still feel good thinking about it.

My point being, just go get your license and GO FISHING. It's so much better than thinking about it, or carrying around lures or hooks. Go for it!

Edit: OK, if you can't get your license now, next best thing is to play with your gear, which it sounds like you are doing. No problemo carrying around a fishing lure, if it makes you feel good. I don't see why people would complain if you're a college student. How about wearing a fishing shirt to school? Might help you meet other people who like to fish.

When I can't go fishing, I like to tear apart my reels, clean and lube bearings, replace drag washers, etc. Also, I like to practice knot tying, tie leaders, and pack them in a leader case. I sharpen all my fishing knives, repair my fishing hats, organize my tackle boxes.

Doesn't sound strange to me at all.
