How Much Does It Cost Replace Head Gasket On 91 Toyota Camry?
I Have A 91 Toyota Camry V6 For Four Door That Need Repair On Head Gasket Or Need To Be Replace. How Much Would U Think It Would Cost Best Ten Car Body Repair in Kingman Directory ?
I've worked for a Jeep/Chrysler/Toyota dealer for twenty nine years now and there is no repairing the head gasket it must be replaced. Now if you got the engine too hot it may have a warped cylinder head as well. If it's just a blown head gasket my garage will charge between $700-$800 labor and about $125 for parts. If it needs some mill work done to the heads as well tack on about $300.00 more dollars. You're looking at about 1100-1200 at a Toyota dealership.
Now for what you should do. Find someone you know to do this that is either a reputable dealer mechanic or a knowledgeable trusted friend. If you lived in Central Illinois i would do it because thats what i do when not at the shop because people are coming to me left and right to avoid having to pay the dealers fees and labor. If i was to do this exact job you would be looking at 75-100 for the gasket and 50 percent labor of the dealership. That would bring you to about $500-600 dollars for a professionally trained tech to do this job. Any more and your getting robbed and any less the person doing it doesnt probably know what theyre doing. All my labor and parts info was directly from our Dealership labor/parts program. Hope this answers your quiry. Most Popular Car Body Repair in Kingman Directory
Cooling Problem On '79 Ford Bronco Bbf Top Ten Car Body Repair in Kingman Directory ?
Actually This Isn'T Really A Cooling Problem, More Like A Coolant Problem. Under Normal Operating Temperature My Radiator Pukes About A Gallon Of Anti Freeze If I Get On The Gas. I Have Replaced The Following To Try And Fix This. Water Pump, And Backing Plate, Thermostat (With A 180), And All Hoses. Can Anyone Point Me In The Right Direction Here? I Was Told When I Rebuilt My Engine I May Have Put The Heads On The Wrong Sides And This Could Be Partially Blocking Water Jackets, I Really Do Not Want To Take My Engine Apart Again So Any Information Would Be Nice. Oh And The Engine Is A Built Up 429 Thunderjet With A Pretty Rank Cam And .30 Over Pistons.
make sure you have a spring loaded radiator cap that meets the specks for your vehicle. the cap opens at certain pressures [usually above boiling] and releases coolant into the over flow tank and later the coolant is sucked back into the radiator. this is normal. installing a lower t-stat will usually enhance the problem because the coolant will not stay in the radiator long enough to transfer away the heat properly. it could be other things causing the problem, and the heads are the same so don't worry about that statement. any time you bore a motor you thin the cylinder walls allowing more heat to enter the cooling system. this can be a big problem in high performance engines so that's why the parts boys sell high dollar aluminum radiators. anyway good luck on solving the up chucking ford. by the way is that the original motor? how about the radiator Top Ten Car Body Repair in Kingman Directory ?
How Do I Replace The Thermostate On A 1993 Toyota Camry?
My '93 Camry Is Overheating. I'M Not Exactly Sure What Is Causing It To Overheat. I Was Told It Was The Water Outlet Cap. Changed It Yesterday And It'S Still Overheating. I Wanted To Change The Thermostat Myself That Way I Don'T Have To Pay A Mechanic For Something That May Not Be The Problem. I Don'T Know If It'S The Thermostat, The Water Pump Or The Head Gasket. If Anyone Can Supply Any Info I.E. Links, Photos, Whatever, I'D Appreciate It. By The Way It'S A V6 If That Makes Any Difference. Thanks.
i own a repair shop,,in Tennessee, and i repair a lot of Honda,s and from what you have described to me,,it could be the water pump,or the thermostat,,to find and change the thermostat you just follow the top radiator hose down to the motor, and there you.ll see a housing that it is attached to,and two or three bolts that hold it to the engine, remove them, and the thermostat is under the housing,,be sure and drain some of the coolant from it or it will run out when you remove the housing, also be sure and clean all the old gasket off,and put a new one one with the new thermostat and make sure you replace the thermostat in like the old one was,and don't over tighten the bolts that hold the housing on,,and re-fill the system, and your done,,good luck,i hope this help,s.
What Places Can Oil Leak From A 1993 Toyota Camry 2.2 Le?
It'S Not Coming From The O Ring, Oil Pan Gasket, Head Gasket, Or Valve Cover Gasket.
How can be sure it isn't leaking through the head gasket? If the car is leaking alot but there is no oil drips on your drive the leak is internal, most likely the head gasket. How long have you had the car? Some cars use more oil than others, it may be that this car uses more oil than other, unless you know that the car didn't use as much oil previously.

For How Long Is The Smog Check Certificate Valid?
I Want To Sale My Car But They Ask Me If The Car Has The Smog Certificate. I Have The Last One I Did In May/2010 Is It Still Valid Or Needs A New Smog Check?
I believe it is 90 days. If your vehicle passed smog, you can always lower your price and make a deal with the buyer to smog the vehicle themself. It is about $20-$80 to do regular smog.
Bmw 325 I 2001 Smog Test?
I Bougth A Bmw 2001 325I And It Couldnt Pass Smog I Spent A Lot Of Money On It Change Alternator Make 100K Full Service All And All I Spent Around 2500 What Are My Chnaces If This Car Doesnt Pass Smog What Other Option Do I Have Need Help
It depends on what work was performed on the 100k service and the reason it failed the initial smog test , you just don't know if it will pass until you have it retested , unfortunately the consumer has no choice .
most places will run a pretest for you if you ask or find a shop that has access to an emissions analyzer who can check it before you actually have it retested .
I cannot give you ideas on what to check because you did not mention what was done on the service why the test center failed your particular vehicle . You should receive a report from the testing facility stating why your vehicle failed and a good tech can interpret the report and advise you what should be checked .
I have found several BMW's that have come into my shop which have failed a smog test due to a small vacuum leak at the throttle body, which is something beyond the typical 100k service
