Issues To Consider About Auto Repair It can be a very stressful situation when worrying as to what company to choose

Car Electrical Repair in Kingman Directory
for your personal auto repair, but as long as you know how to make the procedure it might be really simple. Every company will claim they have the most effective mechanics and offer the smallest prices, but clearly that is certainly not the case. The easiest way to know that you are obtaining the best repair for your lowest price would be to take the time to do your research. Step one to locating the best clients are to consider the reviews that were left by past customers. Most likely you might have more mechanics in your neighborhood than it is possible to count. It can be difficult to choose which companies to even compare with others. Look for a site that offers the option to see their reviews in a general star level. From that point you must be able to obtain the top 10 companies in the area. You then should make time to see the reviews which were left by their past clients. Realize that there definitely will be negative reviews, regardless how good the business is, although the vast majority needs to be positive. Search for negative reviews that share the same issues, such as needing to bring their vehicle back in a brief amount of time because it actually had not been yet fixed. Any shop should e capable to diagnose and repair a vehicle the first time. From your initial listing of 10 you must be able to narrow it as a result of 3 different companies that are the most beneficial. You can then call each and get when they are willing to provide you with a quotation free of cost. When they have made your best 3 list they will be greater than willing to achieve this. That way you can understand what they presume being the problem along with whatever they think it would cost. Once you have quotes from all 3 you may then decide who to work with. It may be tempting to make a decision simply in line with the cost, so how they treat you should also be considered. Customer satisfaction is essential in relation to auto repair. When they are ready to explain everything to you and explain to you that they can feel that you have value they are truly enthusiastic about obtaining your small business and keeping it. Think of every factor of your interaction before you make a conclusion about which mechanic you believe is advisable to service your automobile. Every auto mechanic will claim they may have the very best costs, from parts to service, but the truth is that they all differ in many ways. Car Electrical Repair in Kingman Directory Make time to investigate how others have felt concerning their service, what their prices are and just how you personally felt whenever you visited their shop. This is the best way to find a quality auto mechanic shop that may meet your requirements and expectations.

Is Kia Rio A Decent Used Car?
Hell All - Looking For A Car To Get For Mom. Are Used Models From 2004 To 2007 Any Good? Would Probably Look For One With 60K Mile Or Less. I Would Like To Hear Qualified Opinions From People Who Actually Own Or Have Owned This Car. Let Me Know Of Any Quality Issues And How Much You Like Or Dislike This Particular Model. Thanks All Top Ten Car Electrical Repair in Kingman Directory

I think the first generation Rio is derivitive of what Ford sold in the US badged as the Aspire.

The Ford Aspire was an appropriately named car. It aspired to be a real car but fell short. Top Ten Car Electrical Repair in Kingman Directory

The first Rio had it's share of problems. Electrical, head gasket, etc... Really no worse than an Escort, Cavalier, or Neon though.

The current generation (05+) is a similar design to the Hyundai Accent. It should be a better quality car

What Is The Highest Paid Automotive Mechanic Top Ten Car Electrical Repair in Kingman Directory?
I Asked A Question A Couple Of Weeks Ago About Mechanics And I Saw That Someone`S Mechanic Teacher Worked At Land Rover And Made Over $200,000 A Year. If You Are An Automotive Mechanic For A Luxury Car Company Does That Generally Pay You High? I Have Always Wanted To Be A Mechanic For A Nice Company Like Mercedes-Benz Or Bmw

most Mechanics are paid on what is called a flag hour scale based on an hourly rate. so if a say for instance a tune up,and a brake jobwith turning the rotors. calls for a total of 7 flag hours. And the Mechanic completes the entire Job in 3 hrs. Then they pay him for 7 hrs at what ever his hourly rate is. but if that same job takes him 10 hrs to complete then he only gets paid for 7 hrs. 10 Best Car Electrical Repair in Kingman Directory

So a good mechainc who is fast and accurate can make as much as he wants in one day. So $200,000 a year is possible without working for BMW , Mercedes- Benz.

What Toyota 4Runners (What Years) Had Problems With Blown Had Gaskets?
I'M Looking At A 1999 Toyota 4Runner V6 And I'M Wondering If There'S A High Likelihood Of The Head Gaskets Going Out. Or We'Re Those Problems Fixed By That Year Best Ten Car Electrical Repair in Kingman Directory?

Head gaskets haven't really been a trouble spot on either of the 3rd-generation (1996-2002) engines. There is the occasional head gasket failure in that generation, but the percentage isn't large enough to be notable.

The engine with the most notorious head gasket issues was the 3VZ-E 3.0L V6 that was available in 4runners from 1988-1995. Even then, the problematic head gaskets were replaced by Toyota under a service bulletin and the failure rate on the replaced gaskets is not high enough for concern. The rumor mill ran wild with the initial head gasket failures, so the 3VZ-E still has a tarnished reputation, even though it's a fairly decent engine as a whole. I Failed My Smog Test?
My 2001 Cadillac Deville Just Failed The Smog Test. It Said It Was The Vehicle Failing The Mil/Check Engine Light Test Due To Failure To Successfully Complete All Obd Self Tests. Also The Obd Diagnostics Said The Catalyst Was Not Ready And The Evaporative System Not Ready. Can Anyone Explain This To Me And Suggest What I Should Do? Thanks Best Ten Car Electrical Repair in Kingman Directory

The car runs some tests of the emissions system as you drive it. Sometimes these tests require several hundred miles of normal driving to complete, or specific types of driving, called a "drive cycle". For example, some tests might require the car to be warmed up and going over 35 mph for a certain amount of time.
OBD means On Board Diagnostics. Having OBD tests not complete means the OBD system hasn't had time to complete all its tests. This can happen if the battery was replaced or run dead recently.
http://www.justanswer.com/cadillac/2ujzp-need-drive-cycle-cadillac-seville-sls-2001.html shows a drive cycle. You just need to do the ones related to the catalyst (5 minutes of steady 55-60mph). That should take care of your evap system also. If not, do the ones that say "EVAP purge" also. 10 Best Car Electrical Repair in Kingman Directory

How Do You Change The Water Pump In A '95 Ford Contour Do You Have To Remove The Motor Mount Or Timing Belt 10 Best Car Electrical Repair in Kingman Directory?

For the V6 of this model year, it's relatively easy. Best to ensure the engine cannot be started by removing the battery ground cable first. While draining the coolant via the rad petcock (don't ask me how these things get their names), remove the plastic cover over the front cylinder bank. The water pump should then be visble on the driver side of the block below the front head. It is driven by the front camshaft pulley and a belt that uses a small tensioner. You can release the belt tension by hand. The air filter housing cover and inlet that is attached to the air horn (on top of the engine) and anything connected to this assembly, must be removed. There are also a few small hoses, wiring connectors and other paraphenalia that will have to be disconnected. Make careful observations during dis-assembly and re-assembly. 10 Best Car Electrical Repair in Kingman Directory

Sorry that my memory is a bit fuzzy on this part, but I recall that some of the pump mounting bolts are what are sometimes referred to as through-bolts (since they pass through something you usually don't want to disturb; in this case the pump housing attached to the block). I was careful not to disturb this housing too much; there may have been one or two bolts holding it in place that did not need to be disturbed. If that's the case, leave them alone and you should not need any other gaskets other than the one for the pump assembly. Always check your new parts for clues to dis-assembly and to confirm you have the right part for the job. Make sure all of the old gasket material has been scraped/sanded of of the block before installing your new or rebuilt pump. Best Ten Car Electrical Repair in Kingman Directory

How Much Would It Cost To Fix Blown Head Gasket?
I Am Looking For A Car And I Keep Seeing Adds That Say :Blown Head Gasket. I Have A Descent Ability To Work On Cars Myself, But Now Too Good With Terminology. When They Say Blown Head Gasket, Is It Just A New Gasket That Needs Changed Or What? How Much Would That Cost? Looking At A 92 Toyota 4 Runner For 500.

If you are asking this question then you are not even close to being able to tackle this one yourself.

The "blown head gasket" can mean a lot of things but it usually means your engine is fried or damaged. Chances are good that you might need to do a lot more than replace the gasket. You often are looking at a total engine replacement.

... and don't bother with a Toyota 4Runner with this problem. The engine is toast.

1993 Ford Bronco Over Heating
Radiator Is The Biggest I Coulfd Get And The Thermostat Is New And Put In Rite, And If It Was A Blow Head Gasket Would There Be Water In My Oil And There Is Not, And Fluid Level Is Good In Radiator, And It Only Does It When I Pull A Hill Hard Or Pull My Trailer, Would A Mechanic Be Able To Tell Me More

No water in oil doesn't mean that the head gasket is not blown. but check the transmission fluid and trans cooler. might need to add an external cooler for the trans. how about adding an auxiliary cooling fan. check your fan clutch also with motor warm turn off try to turn the fan by hand if it turns easy then the fan clutch is bad and needs to be replaced.

2004 Toyota Camry Shot Water Pump And Now Car Wont Turn Over? Help Please!!?
I Have A 2004 Toyota Camry That I Got For Graduation In May. When I Started Driving It It Had About 144,000 Miles On It Already. About A Month And A Half Ago My Car Started Making This Godforsaken Noise That Sounded Like A Engine Knock But It Progressivly Got Worse. My Boyfriend And His Dad Both Looked At It And Couldn'T Figure It Out At First. My Bf Thought It Was My Alternator Going Out. Well Today We Were Putting My Snow Tires On My Car And After We Got Them On We Turned The Car On To Warm It Up So We Could Test The Tires Out A Little. After We Jacked The Car Down He Noticed There Was All This Fluid Running Out And Dripping Onto The Ground. It Was Just Old Water And He First Thought It Was All The Snow Melting Out From Under My Car Because We Live In North Dakota And It Gets Pretty Frickin Cold Up Here. So We Got In The Car And Drove Off And Noticed The Engine Was Warming Up But There Was No Heat Coming Out Of The Vents. The Temp Was Perfect Until We Were Trying To Figure Out Why The Heat Wasn'T Working And After It Just Sat There For About A Minute And Blew Freezing Cold Air, The Engine Temp Gauge Was Almost All The Way Maxed Out. My Bf Knew Right Away That It Was The Water Pump Because We Weren'T Getting Any Heat And My Engine Was Overheated (But Not Smoking Or Steaming. Weird..) So He Threw The Car Into Neutral And Turned It Off And We Started Coasting Our Way Home And We Had To Stop At A Stop Sign So He Tried To Start The Car To Just Get It Moving Again And Then Turn It Off. But We Ended Up Getting Stuck At The Stop Sign Because My Car Wouldn'T Start Up Again. It Was So Dead That The Internal Lights Didn'T Even Turn On And The Information Panel Lights Were Baaaarely Dim. So My Boyfriends Dad Ended Up Pulling Us Home. Well All Day It Sat In The Driveway And Then Tonight I Went Out There To See If It Would Turn Over But It Didn'T. It Has A Charge, I Know That Because I Tested All The Lights. When We Got Home Today I Couldn'T Even Use My Key Fob To Lock The Car Doors Because Thats How Dead The Car Was, But When I Went Out There Tonight The Lights, The Brights, The Blinkers And The Internal Lights And Everything All Work Perfectly And Are All Bright As Can Be, But When I Try To Start My Car It Just Makes That Horrible Clicking Noise And I Have To Turn The Key Back Again. My Bf'S Dad Thinks That Theres Just Not A Connection Going On Right Now And That My Battery Is Probobly Shot. But I Don'T Know Really. I'M Honestly Not Too Worried About My Water Pump Because My Bf Knows How To Replace Them, But I'M More Worried About Why The Heck My Car Doesn'T Start Because I Really Don'T Want To Have To Get A New Alternator Because I Have Absolutly No Money At The Moment And I Need My Car To Get Around. :/ Any Ideas? The Car Has 156,000 Miles On It, The Oil Was Just Changed Less Than A Month Ago, My Radiator Is In Good Condition And There Has Never Not Been Coolant Or Anything In There. Living In North Dakota Sometimes I Drive The Car In Low Gear Just For A Few Blocks To Get The Engine Warmed Up Perfect And Fast Because It'S So Cold Outside. I'M Wondering If That'S Maybe What Did It. But This Is Also The First Time My Car Has Ever Overheated Or Had Any Problems At All. But From My Research The Water Pump On Camrys Is A Constant Reoccuring Problem And They Usualy Go Out Between 70 And 100,000 Miles...So I Am Kinda Way Past That Mileage Range Lol. Help Please!? Thank You. :))

the all important Q here is what engine is this?

if you have the I4, yea, prolly toasted a head gasket. since the water pump is driven off the accessory pulleys. therefore no reason, given your scenario, why it wouldn't at least start other than a head gasket issue.

but if you have the V6 you may not have a head gasket issue. there is a good chance this maybe ok. after repair.
those have under timing belt water pumps. if the pump was the source of the noise, the pulley was prolly wobbling. leaking. it would leak coolant onto the timing belt providing a lubricant for it to slip.
yes, she over heated. the chance it that the belt slipped b4 she got too hot. and that,s why it won't start.
now here's the catch, the mz family of V6's maybe of VVT-variable valve timing or not. toy call's these an interference type engine. those, usually, if a timing belt slips/breaks, cause internal engine damage. however, i have read that they are not interference type at or below valve (VVT) advance curve. that means if the belt slipped or broke at low enough rpm, yes, she won't start, but it's possible there maybe no engine damage other than a water pump and timing belt.
toy calls these interference type, but do not make the distinction being non-interference type statically (engine not running-or below advance curve.

this is only what i've read. some have gotton away with this type of issue w/o any internal engine damage. but i have no personal experience to back it up.
--------
summary,
it is *possible* on the V6 only, the water pump leaked, caused the belt to slip, and even though it got hot, the belt slipping is the cause of no start. and, if there was no valve to piston contact, you could only be looking at a pump and belt replacement. which on these is pricey enough. 300-400 bucks for just labor. but, the engine itself may not be damaged.
so since a new engine of this type would run around 2000+++. it would be worth the effort, if there's no coolant in the oil or vise versa, to replace the pump and belt, check compression, passing that, chemical test coolant for petrol base contaminants, check oil for coolant one more time. doing and passing all that, would be worth the effort.

a reputable ASE shop or the dealer is best for quality work. but you might look into a reputable local independent shop to keep the costs down.

What Is A Smog Test?
I Am From Minnesota And They Dont Have A Smog Test Here, Currently My Dad Is On A Contract In California But He Chooses To Have A Minnesotan License Plate, I Asked Him Why And He Said That You Have To Do A Smog Test If It Is A California Vehicle, What Is A Smog Test And Why Dont People Want To Do It

WHY DOES CALIFORNIA NEED A SMOG CHECK PROGRAM?

In 1970 Congress passed the Federal Clean Air Act, which set quality standards for the nation. The act required areas that did not meet air quality standards to implement emissions control strategies or they would lose their building and highway funds. California did not meet the Federal Air quality standards. Hence, in 1982 it decided to implement an emissions inspection program, currently referred to as the "Smog Check" program.

The California Smog Check program is designed to identify vehicles, which are polluters through the use of a state of the art exhaust gas analyzer. The exhaust analyzer is much like a photo camera except it takes pictures of your vehicle's exhaust (rather then your vehicle) and translates that into information which a Smog technician can read/understand and evaluate. Based on this information the technician can diagnose your vehicle's engine condition.

The Smog Inspection is not to be feared. It's simply an inspection designed to make sure your car is in good running order. It's also an excellent opportunity for you to evaluate your vehicle's engine performance and make sure your car is running at optimum levels.

The average smog inspection price will vary shop to shop. It will normally range anywhere between $29.95 to $59.95 depending on the county you live in and the type of smog inspection your vehicle requires. This price may or may not include the State's Certificate Fee of $8.25. In some parts of California, where smog inspections are not so common, shop owners may choose to charge a little more for the smog inspection in order to make up for the high cost of maintenance.

There is no State of California regulation for the actual cost of the smog check due to the fact that smog stations are privately owned businesses. However there are laws which require smog stations, smog test only centers and smog repair centers to display thier smog inspection prices in areas accessible to and easily viewed by the public.
