(DOHC, VIN 3)) However, if it has the original automatic transmission, it will likely fail before 200,000 miles and you'll junk the car then. To be completely honest, I work in an auto body shop. I am not a body guy, I am a mechanic though. I see those guys do things that I would never imagine. It truly is a skill to be able to weld and form body panels back to their Original shape. The job is dirty. There is a lot of dust in the shop from the sanding and it is very noisy. When they have to straighten frames, the machines only go up about waist high. So you will spend a lot of time on your knees doing frame work. Cuts are the norm as there is a lot of sharp metal edges on everything. The good news is that tools are nowhere as expensive as a mechanic's. You will still need the basics, but not a whole chest of testers and pressure gages. Don't expect to do that great starting out. As with any job in the auto industry, you will need to prove your worth. Get used to giving the tool trucks a decent percentage of your paychecks when you are new. And working with insurance companies... well you'll see. But the career can be very rewarding if you are willing to be dedicated. Some companies will treat you like scum and others will treat you good. You will do some jumping around at first until you get comfortable. Hope this helps.
