Options To Consider About Auto Repair It could be a very stressful situation when worrying as to what company to select

for your personal auto repair, but provided that you know the way to the method it may be quite simple. Every company will claim they may have the ideal mechanics and offer the best prices, but clearly which is incorrect. The easiest way to know that you are obtaining the best repair for that lowest price would be to spend some time to do your homework. The initial step to finding the optimum company is to find the reviews which have been left by past customers. Chances are that you might have more mechanics in your town than you may count. It can be hard to select which companies to even compare to others. Look for a site that gives the solution to see their reviews at a general star level. Following that you should certainly get the top 10 companies in your town. Then you certainly should take the time to browse the reviews which were left by their past clients. Know that there definitely will probably be negative reviews, regardless how good the business is, but the vast majority should be positive. Search for negative reviews that share exactly the same issues, including needing to bring their vehicle way back in a quick length of time mainly because it actually had not been yet fixed. Any shop should e capable to diagnose and repair a vehicle the 1st time. From the initial list of 10 you must be able to narrow it down to 3 different firms that are the top. You may then call each and request if they are willing to provide you with an estimate free of charge. Should they have made your best 3 list they should be greater than willing to achieve this. That way you can understand what they presume to get the issue in addition to whatever they think it will cost. Upon having quotes coming from all 3 after that you can decide who to use. It may be tempting to determine simply depending on the cost, but how they treat you should also be looked at. Customer support is vital in relation to auto repair. When they are prepared to explain everything to you personally and demonstrate that they feel that you have value they are truly enthusiastic about obtaining your business and keeping it. Consider every part of your interaction before you make a conclusion about which mechanic you believe is most beneficial to service your car or truck. Every auto mechanic will claim they may have the best costs, from parts to service, but the reality is that they can all differ in lots of ways. Take the time to investigate how others have felt about their service, what their prices are and exactly how you personally felt if you visited their shop. This is certainly the simplest way to look for a quality auto repair center which will suit your needs and expectations.

96 Toyota Camry Head Gasket Problem.?
Took Car To Mechanic Since It Was Stalling When Idling, As Soon As I Got To Mechanic, It Completely Died. So They Said It Was A Water Pump Problem And Estimated Cost Of $650. I Gave Them The Go Ahead To Fix It. So Then They Fix It And Now Are Telling Me That I Have Bigger Problems, That My Head Gasket Is Blown And That It Needs To Be Replaced For An Additional $1500. I Guess I'M Obligated To Pay The $650 But I Still Havent Decided What To Do About The Head Gasket Problem. They Say Car Won'T Last 2000-3000 Miles With Out The Job. I Read About Thermogasket Which Claims Can Fix Blown Gaskets And It'S Only $100 But I'M Pretty Skeptical. I'Ve Also Read Somewhere Else That It Might Be Cheaper Just To Get The Whole Engine Replaced. Is This True? Car Has About 103K Miles On It Right Now And Mechanic Claims With The Fix It Could Go To Over 200K, But I'M Not Sure If It'S Worth It. I'M Also Pissed They Wait Till After Fixing The Pump To Tell Me About The Bigger Gasket Problem...

for the money they want you could get a newer engine.becareful of crate motors, they sometime are not made to usa specs and may have different mountings for things like smog pumps.aluminum heads can warp, then the car is trash.toyotas can easily go over 200,000, my 88 corolla died at 225,000.get estimates from everywhere before you decide.my head gasket blew and considering the mileage i just junked it.

1984 Ford Bronco Ii Over Heating...I Replaced The Water Pump And Thermostat Also Had Radiator Cooked Out?
I Can Remove The Upper Hose And There Is No Water In The Block

No liquid ? leak !
If you fill the radiator, and the coolant is gone, then logic would tell us you have a leak.
It might be a bad radiator cap, not holding pressure and the coolant is leaking past to the over flow bottle, head gasket leak, heater core leak, or one of the hoses.
Put a pressure test on the radiator and it should show where the leak is.
A stuck thermostat wil cause over heating, as will a intake manifold gasket resulting in the engine runnng too lean.

Can Oil Leak From A Head Gasket On My 1993 Toyota Camry?
Two Mechanics Looked At It: One Said It Was The Head Gasket The Other Said It Was A Valve.

oil leak from a Valve Cover is common on almost all cars. You get the gasket replaced and the oil leak stops.

however, a head gasket leak usually causes over heating, and car does not run very well. You will usually either have oil in coolant or coolant in the oil depending on what port the head gasket fails either a water port or oil port.

You would definitly have a major issue on the way the car runs and over heating if head gasket was bad.

good luck, I think from what you wrote you probably just have a valve cover gasket leaking.

How Long Does It Take To Change A Head Gasket On A 1997 Ford Contour?

Flat rate on a head gasket for this car is 7.9 hours for a 4 cylinder and 13.1 hours to do both head gaskets on a V6.

What Kind Of Car Should I Get For College? Help Please!?
My College Will Be Around 3 Hrs Away From My House And I Need A Good, Reliable Car. On A Daily Basis I Would Be Driving From My Apartment, To School, Work, Friends Places, Etc. My Parents Said My Limit Is Probably Around $12K. I Found A 2010 Hyndai Accent (4 Door, Power Everything) And A 2005 Honda Accord (Lx 2.4L 4 Door), Any Suggestions On These? Or Any Suggestions On Other Cars? I'M Looking For Okay To Really Good Gas Mileage, It'S Not That Big Of An Issue. Can Anyone Help Me Out? (Btw, The Hyundai Is $10K And The Honda Is $11K, Hyundai Mileage Is 44K And Honda'S Is 78K) Plus My Parents Want To Get Me A Car That Does Not Have High Miles, Maybe 60K Miles Down. And My Friends All Have Cobalts, Accords, Mustangs, Hhrs, Silverados, Jettas, Focus', So I Don'T Want To Drive The Lamest Car Out Of The Group. Thanks!

Don't go with the Hyundai accent (whatever you do, don't do that....especially if you will be driving 3 hours back and forth somewhat regylarly). Good cars in that price range would be the Nissan sentra, Nissan versa, a used but low mile Toyota Camry, a used but low mile Honda civic, or you can go for the Toyota tercel or corolla (or older models of the above listed brands). Another good dependable car is the Nissan maxima (you may be able to find an '05 or '06 in the $12k price range (these cars go forever though, just hit 300k on my wife's maxima). Please, please, please stay away from Mazda, Kia/Hyundai, and Isuzu brands. These brands are known for many issues including blowing head gaskets, premature body rot (depending on region you live in), transmission problems, and many other costly issues. Definitely go foreign for a good commuter type car. The Nissan versa sedan is surprisingly spacious in the trunk and would easily haul all of your luggage to and from home they are reliable and you can buy a brand new one for around $12k (it will be a base model but it's brand new).
