u have an oil leak from the head gasket.easy fix. remove the valve cover.u may have to remove the spark plug wires.remember to mark each 1,2,3,4 etc.they to go back the same way.once u'v removed the valve cover scrape away any old gasket residuo on both engine and the cover.go to pep boys and a gasket made 4 your car.get the cork type gasket.don't forget the gasket glue.u may as well clean your plugs while u'r out there.take them out and soak em in a cup of gasoline for about 30min.this will loosen and remove carbon build up.brush them with a copper toothbrush. wipe em off.they are now like new.put them back in no order for plugs just the wires.line the glue around the engine and the valve cover and bolt it back down.wipe off the excess..done.

My Boyfriend Just Gave Me His Toyota Camry A Couple Of Weeks Ago. Its A 96 Model, And It Has 230K Miles. Last Night It Started To Run Hot. Me Not Knowing Much About Cars And This Problem, I Pulled Over And Turned The Car Off. I Cranked It Back Up Turned Up The Head And Drove The Rest Of The Way Home. It Was Fine The Rest Of The Way. This Morning When I Told Him To Go Out And Put Some Water In It, He Said That The Oil Was In The Water, And That I Have Blown Or Cracked A Head Gasket From Running It Hot. I Asked Him What I Needed To Do, And He Said Nothing Just Drive It Until It Quits And He Will Look More Into It. I Don'T Agree With That At All. He Does Know Alot About Vehicles But That Just Doesn'T Sound Right. I Had The Same Thing Just Happen To My Old Car, It Started Smoking And The Oil And Water Started Coming Out Of The Water (Being The Reason He Gave Me This One). How Much Is That Part? Because When I Get It Replaced He Will Put It In. So I Wouldn'T Have To Pay For Labor. How Long Until What Happened To My Old Car Happens To This One?

I Asked The Dealer To Repair An Oil Leak. They Replaced The Rear Main Oil Seal In My Car Which Involved Removing The Transmission. Now The Oil Leak Is Repaired, But The Transmission Is Leaking Fluid.
Am I To Pay The Full Price For The Repair Of This Transmission Leak Or Should The Dealer Chip In For Some Of The Cost? Would They Be Willing To Fund Part Of The Cost Of Repair? Or Do You Think They Will Refuse?
most likely they mishandled or damaged something with your transmission during the R&R process....probably a cooler line not tightened properly or something as simple as that...if it wasnt leaking before then they should inspect it for free....if it is determined that the problem was due to negligance...they should repair it for free...if it turns out to be a seal or something non related to the process then they should have discovered the problem while testing the new rear main & notified you of the problem...at this time the reinstallation of the transmission would have been done so the most you can expect will be a slight discount on the labor....a good service tech. should have done a thorough inspection while the trans. was out & any problem,s should have been detected at that time....but that would have been the best case senerio....hope for the best but be prepaired for the worst....good luck!
