The first task to locating the best clients are to look for the reviews that were left by previous customers. Most likely you have more mechanics in the area than you are able to count. From there you should be able to obtain the top 10 companies in your area. Then you definitely should make time to see the reviews which have been left by their past clients. Girls And Car Repairs?
Now That I Have Your Complete Attention With The Title Of This Question Please Help Me. I Am A 23 Year Old Girl. I Hate My Current Job And I Was Thinking About Going Into Automotive Technologies. I Enjoy Everything About Vehicles. Anytime Something Goes Wrong With One Of My Cars I Am Right There With My Friend (Who Is A Mechanic) Learning How To Solve The Problem. I Would Really Like To Get Into This Field Of Work. The Two Things Making Me Hesitant Is That, I Am A Good Looking Girl Which May Make It Hard For Anyone To Take Seriously With Cars, And I Haven'T Been Learning This Since I Was A Kid Like A Lot Of Other People. I Want To Go To School And Further My Knowledge About Vehicle Mechanics And Maybe Even Collision Repair. How Does One Get Started With All Of This? I Live In Milton Pennsylvania Can Anyone Tell Me What School I Should Apply For?

The problem with going into auto mechanics is that A: It's a fairly crappy job on the best day, what with being hot in summer, cold in winter, always being dirty, always scraping your knuckles, cutting your hands, burning yourself, etc., dealing with stupid people who don't know what you're talking about, don't take care of their cars, don't trust you, and don't want to pay you, and B: You have to constantly be learning new stuff. Every new car that comes out is a new bag of problems, and your have to try to keep track of all their quirks, or you won't be able to diagnose obscure issues accurately. You'll be expected to work on stuff made last week as well as stuff made 40 years ago, and just "know" what's wrong with all of them, or you won't get any respect. Most of the best mechanics have been messing with cars since they learned to drive, it's not something you just decide to take up on the spur of the moment. I've been working on cars for 35 years in my spare time and as necessary, and I don't know that I would ever have wanted to do it for a living. I've known some really good mechanics who've thrown down their tools in disgust and walked out, it was that bad. While I think it's true that any job is what you make of it, it's not a glamorous, high paying job. It's hard, dirty, sometimes dangerous, and you're expected to pull your own weight. In a work environment that's 99% male, you're going to get a lot of lonely guys hitting on you, or just resenting you for being there. They're going to be angry they can't tell their crude jokes with you around, or maybe they will anyway, and you'll have to put up with it. As a woman, you're going to have to be twice as good to be noticed, much less taken seriously, and any mistake is going to get twice as much attention. I'm not trying to discourage you, but just bear all this in mind.

What Is The Average Repair Cost To Replace A Blown Head Gasket For A 1999 Toyota 4Runner?

1200-1500

What Do You Think About A 1990 Ford Bronco Ii 4X4 For A First Car?
Im Just Trying To Pick Out Some Options. This Truck Popped Out On Craigslist For 1200 Bucks. It Looks Pretty Cool And Spacy. But My Parents Had A 94 Explorer And Had Nothing But Problems.Everyday. The Truck Was Junked At 10,000 Miles. What Do You Guys Think?

I had a 87 with a 2.9 and a 5 speed. It was great. Went through mud. The electric lockouts sucked but just convert them to manual locking hubs. The 2.9 is bulletproof accept the head. They had a problem with leaky valve cover gaskets but no biggie.
If it has the slip yoke rear driveshaft (looks like a CV shaft) they suck but you can get a regular U joint shaft to make it stronger. No biggie. I loved mine and took a pounding.

1986 Ford Bronco Coolant Issue.?
My 1986 Ford Bronco 5.8L V8 Has A Coolant Leak Located Right Behind Where The Water Pump Mounts. It'S Not The Water Pump Itself Seeing As I Replaced It Just Today And I Still Have A &Quot;Fountain&Quot; Of Coolant Coming Out From Behind The Pump. The Leak Is Located About A Inch Behind Where The Pump Actually Mounts On And Someone Said It Might Be A Head Gasket Leak. Can Anyone Confirm Or Offer Another Opinion On The Matter?

well now you've heard a stupid answer see if its the bypass hose or heater hose could be a head but i'd let it get warm full of water look for the leak make sure its not a cracked thermostat housing
good luck

Cooling Problem On '79 Ford Bronco Bbf?
Actually This Isn'T Really A Cooling Problem, More Like A Coolant Problem. Under Normal Operating Temperature My Radiator Pukes About A Gallon Of Anti Freeze If I Get On The Gas. I Have Replaced The Following To Try And Fix This. Water Pump, And Backing Plate, Thermostat (With A 180), And All Hoses. Can Anyone Point Me In The Right Direction Here? I Was Told When I Rebuilt My Engine I May Have Put The Heads On The Wrong Sides And This Could Be Partially Blocking Water Jackets, I Really Do Not Want To Take My Engine Apart Again So Any Information Would Be Nice. Oh And The Engine Is A Built Up 429 Thunderjet With A Pretty Rank Cam And .30 Over Pistons.

make sure you have a spring loaded radiator cap that meets the specks for your vehicle. the cap opens at certain pressures [usually above boiling] and releases coolant into the over flow tank and later the coolant is sucked back into the radiator. this is normal. installing a lower t-stat will usually enhance the problem because the coolant will not stay in the radiator long enough to transfer away the heat properly. it could be other things causing the problem, and the heads are the same so don't worry about that statement. any time you bore a motor you thin the cylinder walls allowing more heat to enter the cooling system. this can be a big problem in high performance engines so that's why the parts boys sell high dollar aluminum radiators. anyway good luck on solving the up chucking ford. by the way is that the original motor? how about the radiator?

I Failed My Smog Test?
My 2001 Cadillac Deville Just Failed The Smog Test. It Said It Was The Vehicle Failing The Mil/Check Engine Light Test Due To Failure To Successfully Complete All Obd Self Tests. Also The Obd Diagnostics Said The Catalyst Was Not Ready And The Evaporative System Not Ready. Can Anyone Explain This To Me And Suggest What I Should Do? Thanks

The car runs some tests of the emissions system as you drive it. Sometimes these tests require several hundred miles of normal driving to complete, or specific types of driving, called a "drive cycle". For example, some tests might require the car to be warmed up and going over 35 mph for a certain amount of time.
OBD means On Board Diagnostics. Having OBD tests not complete means the OBD system hasn't had time to complete all its tests. This can happen if the battery was replaced or run dead recently.
http://www.justanswer.com/cadillac/2ujzp-need-drive-cycle-cadillac-seville-sls-2001.html shows a drive cycle. You just need to do the ones related to the catalyst (5 minutes of steady 55-60mph). That should take care of your evap system also. If not, do the ones that say "EVAP purge" also.
