Issues To Consider About Auto Repair It may be a very stressful situation when worrying regarding what company to choose
for your personal auto repair, but provided that you know how to make the process it can be quite easy. Every company will claim they have the most effective mechanics and provide the lowest prices, but clearly which is not the case. The simplest way to know that you will be getting the best repair for the cheapest price is to spend some time to do your homework. The initial step to locating the best clients are to consider the reviews which have been left by past customers. Most likely you may have more mechanics in your town than you may count. It can be hard to pick which companies to even can compare to others. Locate a site that provides the solution to see their reviews at a general star level. Following that you should be able to find the top 10 companies in the area. Then you definitely should take the time to see the reviews that have been left by their past clients. Recognize that there definitely will be negative reviews, no matter how good the business is, nevertheless the vast majority needs to be positive. Search for negative reviews that share a similar issues, like being forced to bring their vehicle back a shorter amount of time since it actually had not been yet fixed. Any shop should e able to diagnose and repair an automobile the initial time. Through your initial list of 10 you should certainly narrow it right down to 3 different companies that are the most beneficial. After that you can call each and ask if they are willing to offer you a quotation free of charge. When they have made your best 3 list they will be a lot more than willing to achieve this. That way you can determine what they feel being the problem and also what they think it would cost. Once you have quotes from all of the 3 you can then decide who to utilize. It may be tempting to determine simply depending on the cost, so how they treat you should also be considered. Customer satisfaction is vital when it comes to auto repair. If they are willing to explain everything for your needs and reveal to you that they can feel you have value they are truly considering obtaining your business and keeping it. Think about every facet of your interaction prior to making a decision about which mechanic you think is best to service your car or truck. Every auto mechanic will claim they have the most effective costs, from parts to service, but the truth is they all differ in many ways. Make time to investigate how others have felt regarding their service, what their pricing is and exactly how you personally felt if you visited their shop. This is certainly the best way to look for a quality auto repair center that can suit your needs and expectations.

Is Kia Rio A Decent Used Car?
Hell All - Looking For A Car To Get For Mom. Are Used Models From 2004 To 2007 Any Good? Would Probably Look For One With 60K Mile Or Less. I Would Like To Hear Qualified Opinions From People Who Actually Own Or Have Owned This Car. Let Me Know Of Any Quality Issues And How Much You Like Or Dislike This Particular Model. Thanks All Top Ten Car Shop in Lake Havasu Directory
I think the first generation Rio is derivitive of what Ford sold in the US badged as the Aspire.
The Ford Aspire was an appropriately named car. It aspired to be a real car but fell short. Best Ten Car Shop in Lake Havasu Directory
The first Rio had it's share of problems. Electrical, head gasket, etc... Really no worse than an Escort, Cavalier, or Neon though.
The current generation (05+) is a similar design to the Hyundai Accent. It should be a better quality car
What Is The Highest Paid Automotive Mechanic Best Ten Car Shop in Lake Havasu Directory?
I Asked A Question A Couple Of Weeks Ago About Mechanics And I Saw That Someone`S Mechanic Teacher Worked At Land Rover And Made Over $200,000 A Year. If You Are An Automotive Mechanic For A Luxury Car Company Does That Generally Pay You High? I Have Always Wanted To Be A Mechanic For A Nice Company Like Mercedes-Benz Or Bmw
most Mechanics are paid on what is called a flag hour scale based on an hourly rate. so if a say for instance a tune up,and a brake jobwith turning the rotors. calls for a total of 7 flag hours. And the Mechanic completes the entire Job in 3 hrs. Then they pay him for 7 hrs at what ever his hourly rate is. but if that same job takes him 10 hrs to complete then he only gets paid for 7 hrs. So a good mechainc who is fast and accurate can make as much as he wants in one day. So $200,000 a year is possible without working for BMW , Mercedes- Benz.
What Toyota 4Runners (What Years) Had Problems With Blown Had Gaskets?
I'M Looking At A 1999 Toyota 4Runner V6 And I'M Wondering If There'S A High Likelihood Of The Head Gaskets Going Out. Or We'Re Those Problems Fixed By That Year 10 Best Car Shop in Lake Havasu Directory?
Head gaskets haven't really been a trouble spot on either of the 3rd-generation (1996-2002) engines. There is the occasional head gasket failure in that generation, but the percentage isn't large enough to be notable.
The engine with the most notorious head gasket issues was the 3VZ-E 3.0L V6 that was available in 4runners from 1988-1995. Even then, the problematic head gaskets were replaced by Toyota under a service bulletin and the failure rate on the replaced gaskets is not high enough for concern. The rumor mill ran wild with the initial head gasket failures, so the 3VZ-E still has a tarnished reputation, even though it's a fairly decent engine as a whole. I Failed My Smog Test?
My 2001 Cadillac Deville Just Failed The Smog Test. It Said It Was The Vehicle Failing The Mil/Check Engine Light Test Due To Failure To Successfully Complete All Obd Self Tests. Also The Obd Diagnostics Said The Catalyst Was Not Ready And The Evaporative System Not Ready. Can Anyone Explain This To Me And Suggest What I Should Do? Thanks Best Ten Car Shop in Lake Havasu Directory
The car runs some tests of the emissions system as you drive it. Sometimes these tests require several hundred miles of normal driving to complete, or specific types of driving, called a "drive cycle". For example, some tests might require the car to be warmed up and going over 35 mph for a certain amount of time.
OBD means On Board Diagnostics. Having OBD tests not complete means the OBD system hasn't had time to complete all its tests. This can happen if the battery was replaced or run dead recently.
http://www.justanswer.com/cadillac/2ujzp-need-drive-cycle-cadillac-seville-sls-2001.html shows a drive cycle. You just need to do the ones related to the catalyst (5 minutes of steady 55-60mph). That should take care of your evap system also. If not, do the ones that say "EVAP purge" also. 10 Best Car Shop in Lake Havasu Directory
How Do You Change The Water Pump In A '95 Ford Contour Do You Have To Remove The Motor Mount Or Timing Belt Most Popular Car Shop in Lake Havasu Directory?
For the V6 of this model year, it's relatively easy. Best to ensure the engine cannot be started by removing the battery ground cable first. While draining the coolant via the rad petcock (don't ask me how these things get their names), remove the plastic cover over the front cylinder bank. The water pump should then be visble on the driver side of the block below the front head. It is driven by the front camshaft pulley and a belt that uses a small tensioner. You can release the belt tension by hand. The air filter housing cover and inlet that is attached to the air horn (on top of the engine) and anything connected to this assembly, must be removed. There are also a few small hoses, wiring connectors and other paraphenalia that will have to be disconnected. Make careful observations during dis-assembly and re-assembly. Sorry that my memory is a bit fuzzy on this part, but I recall that some of the pump mounting bolts are what are sometimes referred to as through-bolts (since they pass through something you usually don't want to disturb; in this case the pump housing attached to the block). I was careful not to disturb this housing too much; there may have been one or two bolts holding it in place that did not need to be disturbed. If that's the case, leave them alone and you should not need any other gaskets other than the one for the pump assembly. Always check your new parts for clues to dis-assembly and to confirm you have the right part for the job. Make sure all of the old gasket material has been scraped/sanded of of the block before installing your new or rebuilt pump. Most Popular Car Shop in Lake Havasu Directory

Why Does My Engine Coolant Have What Looks Like Oil Droplets In It? I Have A 1991 Toyota 4-Runner 3.0 V-6?
Its A 1991 Toyota 4-Runner V-6 3.0, 4X4 Sr5 - (My Spare Vehicle) But I Use It To Camp And Hunt With - I Was Worried About What Engine Problems May Be Arising. I Am Mechanically Inclined And Do Many Repairs On My Own Vehicles, But This One Gets To Me A Bit - Thanks - Bp
1st off, without proper diagnostics you cannot get a proper repair...with that being said...
2nd it sounds like it could be a couple of different things,,,a blown head gasket or a cracked head or block (not likely though).
3rd, if it's not overflowing with oil and there isn't any water in your oil then let it go until you have more time and money to replace the gaskets. It is a time consuming job and while you're at it you might as well replace the timing belt/chain and gears(if necessary) as well as the oil/filter and anti-freeze because you're gonna have to take it all apart anyway.
Even in a large shop it averages about a day and a half to 2 days for this type of job. AND that's not including MURPHY'S LAW. This job can be done with the engine still in the car but it's much easier if you pull it completely out.
Good luck and hope this helps.

Automotive Mechanic Vs Bachelor In Criminal Justice?
I Am Stuck Between These Two Careers For After I Graduate This Year. I Know I Will Make More Money In Criminal Justice, But I Don'T Know Much About The Program. So I Don'T Know If It'S Really Hard Or What? If I Go For Criminal Justice, I Want To Be A Border Patrol Agent, Or Something With Law Enforcement. I Know Some Bout Working On Cars, So That Career Won'T Be To Bad, But I Don'T Know If That Is What I Want To Do For The Rest Of My Life. Can Anyone Give Me A Little Detail On The Criminal Justice Degree? Thanks Alot!
Be warned that these are very specific degrees and with law enforcement you don't need a criminal justice degree to get a job working law enforcement. The difficulty of the degree depends on you and that particular program.
I've taken a number of courses in auto and criminal justice at the community college level and the automotive classes were fairly easy and so were the criminal justice classes. I knew nothing about cars though and I was taking them because my community college had a well known automotive program, especially for a community college, and I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. Both are great careers but also be warned that many cities have downsized their police with the economy. If you go with Criminal Justice also now that you will need to do a lot more then graduate to get a job in law enforcement. They will want to see a good work history, good driving record, good credit, you'll have to be in good physical shape, you'll need to pass a lie detector test, and more. I wouldn't be able to tell you about a criminal degree without a specific college in mind, but it will probably consist of courses like criminology, state law, etc. Really depends on the school. If you want to work border patrol I would also take Spanish, I would think it would help considerably.
1995 Ford Contour Problem?
We Bought The Car With A Blown Head Gasket. Fixed That And It Ran Fine For About A Year. Now It Runs Fine At Times And Won'T Seem To Fire At Times. Since It Runs At Times, The Timing Must Be Okay. It Seems To Have Spark And Fuel But Won'T Even Try, Then The Next Time You Try It Will Fire Up And Run For A While, Then Not Start Again.
get rid of it. joke it could be ignition module
1986 Bronco 2 Oil Leak?
I Have A 1986 Ford Bronco 2 With A 2.9 Liter V6. It Was Leaking Oil Pretty Bad So Me And My Friend Replaced Most Of The Gaskets (From The Head Gaskets And Up). I Thought That Much Would Fix The Oil Leak. Once I Got Done I Changed The Oil And Filter. But It'S Still Leaking Oil. Im Not Sure Where From Though. When It Is Running You Can See Engine Oil Leaking From Above The Oil Filter, Dripping Off The Filter And Its Dripping From The Transmission Pan. And Bellhousing.. So Could This Be The Rear Main Seal? Or What. Its Not Leaking From The Head Gaskets Or Any Of The Gaskets I Replaced. But It Does Look Like Its Leaking From A Little Bit Higher Than The Oil Filter. Anyone Got Any Ideas??
If I remember right there is a part that bolts to the block to adapt the filter location on the block. There is a O-ring that goes bad there. I used to know the part number, it is an obscure part that does not show up in most parts books.
Whats Going On With My Car If Its Over Heating And Dying When In Park? '95 Toyota 4Runner?
I Have A '95 Toyota 4Runner, And When I Start It Up, It Dies. Also, When I Start Giving It Gas It Starts To Over Heat. Any Ideas Of What Could Be Wrong?
Some of those 4Runners had weak head gaskets that might leak. Head gaskets leaking - coolant in the cylinders - may foul out the plugs on start up. When you get it running the exhaust gas leaks into the coolant and causes it to overheat. Run a compression test on it. On a 19 year old truck it could be almost anything - though.
