for the auto repair, but as long as you know how to go about the procedure it might be really simple. Every company will claim they may have the most effective mechanics and give the lowest prices, but clearly that is certainly not the case. The simplest way to know that you are having the best repair for the lowest price is always to take the time to shop around. The first task to locating the best company is to consider the reviews which were left by past customers. Chances are that you possess more mechanics in your town than you can count. It can be hard to choose which companies to even compare with others. Choose a site that offers you the choice to see their reviews in a general star level. After that you must be able to discover the top 10 companies in your town. Then you definitely should take time to look at the reviews that have been left by their past clients. Understand that there definitely will be negative reviews, irrespective of how good the organization is, however the vast majority needs to be positive. Look for negative reviews that share exactly the same issues, for example the need to bring their vehicle back in a short length of time since it actually had not been yet fixed. Any shop should e able to diagnose and repair a car the 1st time. Through your initial selection of 10 you will be able to narrow it as a result of 3 different firms that are the top. FAQ's Auto Repair

Do I Need A Business Degree To Start A Business?
A Small Automotive Repair Garage.

NO. Absolutely not.

A degree would be a waste. I recommend reading some books on starting, operating and marketing a business though. I also recommend that you work in a business similar to the one you want to open and work in it at least a year to make sure that's what you want to do.

Get My Car Repaired Or Replaced?
Should I Replace My Car Repaired Or Replaced It For A New One? It Has 160,000Mi. It A 1998 Sebring. It Leaks Oil. It Also Won'T Pass Inspection. It Has To Get Hood Replaced And Windshield. Also Wheels Alignment. The Car I Will Be Getting Is Used And Reliable And Good Mileage. Or Invest I'M Another Car? Then I Will Have Payments Monthly.

A Sebring is a beautiful car, especially the convertibles. Most professionals that I talk to call it a POS. That stand for Piece Of Sh*t. Chrysler dealers don't agree. What a surprise.

Enough said?

Additional: I'm totally confused by the next two other answers. Where did the figure of $100 for an engine exchange come from? That number is way, way wrong, but it wasn't in the question at all. Another answer also quoted prices. I don't see any prices in the question. Am I not seeing something that is there? Even the $1200 for an engine exchange seems extremely low.

Also, the engine was just one of the many problems with this car. Since it is a Sebring, and the post said it has other things wrong, it is going to cost more than just an engine. Based on what was listed, several hundred dollars at the very least.

What Type Of Car Is Best Overall? Only Want To Pay $3000?
Im In The Market For A New Car. I Dont Know Alot Mechanically Or Technically So I Thought I Would Ask. I Need A Car That Doesnt Need Alot Of Work In General. Something That Is Pretty Self-Sufficient And Long Lasting. I Only Want To Spend 3000. What Type Of Car Is A Good Long-Lasting Car. I'Ve Heard Stuff About Foreign Vs. American.. Which Is Better?

Both foreign and domestic cars are good some people are just ignorant when it comes to cars. Personally I drive a 93 Pontiac Grand Prix I've had the car for 5 years and I 've never had any problems with it. I got the car for 1,500 and it had at the time 130,000 miles on it and it now has over 175,000 and it still runs great and I don't baby it. As for older cars don't get any old Japanese car's from the late 80's to early 90's they all have body rot problems and also the electrical connector's are maid from natural rubber which over time dries out and allows water to seep into the electrical connectors and this causes engine and tranny problems. GM and Fords use synthetic rubber on their electrical plugs so you don't have to worry about the gaskets roting away. Also older Toyota's had head gasket problems with the V6 car's and trucks including the camry and Various lexus models with the 2.5L and 3.0L V6. Older Honda's are good cars they really don't have any faults except for body rot the same goes for older Nissan's. As for American cars they have their problems to for example older Thunder birds and Cougars had a problem with the plastic retainer that holds on the trannys kick down cable can break off and cause damage to the tranny how ever if the problem is caught before it happens than it will only cost you $4 dollars to fix it your self. Also ford old 3.8L V6 had head gasket problems they would blow at low mileage. GM's only fault from the 90's was the 3.4L Twin Duel Cam V6 wich was thier first attempt at an DOHC V6 its a good engine but not very easy to work on so repair cost are high but not many cars had this engine so don't worry about coming across one. As for Crysler well lets just say the 90's was not their decade.

What Can I Do About My Toyota '98 Camry?
My Car Has A Loooot Of Problems, But Luckily, They Are All Small. I Want To Fix All Of Them But A Lot Of The Parts Are Only Sold In Junkyards. Where Can I Get Everything Fixed? Can I Just Go To Any Gas Station Or Garage And Ask Them? For Example, 1) Almost All The Door Handles (Inside) Are Broken And Are Opened In A Weird Way. 2) You Can'T Lock The Doors Unless The Key Is In The Ignition (So Everyone Has To Get Out, Close, The Door, And Then I Lock It And Then Take The Key Out And Get Off, And Lock My Own Door With The Key, I Can'T Lock All Of Them) 3) I Replaced The Roof Light In The Car But It Stlil Doesn'T Work 4) I Think There Might Be A Problem With The Radiator, Everytime I Fill It With Water I Come Back Later Seeing It Is Empty. The Car Used To Heat Up Every Time It Empties (It Is Leaking I Think) But Now It Doesn'T At All. 6) The Security Features Are Very Very Glitchy, The Car Goes Insane If I Even Touch The Remote. 7) The Stick For Changing (Its Automatic Though) Is Set With The Wrong Colors, So N Actually Goes In Drive. But The Speedometer Has One Working So I Don'T Need To Look At The Other One. Sorry For Making This Long, I Just Don'T Have Any Clue What To Do And Where To Go. I'M Supposed To Go To The &Quot;Toyota Dealer&Quot; But I Don'T Want To Be Screwed Over. Thanks.

1. That's a common Camry problem. If you can find the parts (ebay?) a good local mechanic should be able to replace the latches. My friends 99 Camry has broken handles inside and out, its a crappy design.

2. and 6. Both sound related to a defective alarm system. Might have to take the car to an alarm/stereo installer and see if they can troubleshoot the problem for you. Consider removing the alarm completely.

3. Assuming you have the switch in the middle position, it might be a wiring problem or a bad housing. Probably needs to be replaced, get a used part from a junkyard or a dealer.

4. This is your most serious problem. You could have a head gasket failing or a cooling system leak somewhere. Again, a good local mechanic can inspect and diagnose. Find someone that specializes in Toyota.

7. Odd thing to break but as long as the shifter is working properly, you can hold off on this repair.

Search your area for Toyota specialist mechanics, or shops that only do Japanese imports. Most of those guys know the problem areas on Camrys and probably know how to fix them. Take your car in for an estimate and inspection. Talk to a couple of shops before deciding who to use.

Whats The Job Description Of An Auto Mechanic?

The auto mechanic diagnoses and effects repairs on all kinds of mechanical devices on automobiles. This entails mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical. You must also be able to work on performance and emission systems within the scope of the job.

Not related to what you ask, but it is sad that in todays world mechanics do more parts replacing than item repair. Back in the day we'd take things apart and repair them then put em back. Todays components are simply pull it off and throw it away and put on a new one.

Good luck in your ventures.
