u have an oil leak from the head gasket.easy fix. remove the valve cover.u may have to remove the spark plug wires.remember to mark each 1,2,3,4 etc.they to go back the same way.once u'v removed the valve cover scrape away any old gasket residuo on both engine and the cover.go to pep boys and a gasket made 4 your car.get the cork type gasket.don't forget the gasket glue.u may as well clean your plugs while u'r out there.take them out and soak em in a cup of gasoline for about 30min.this will loosen and remove carbon build up.brush them with a copper toothbrush. wipe em off.they are now like new.put them back in no order for plugs just the wires.line the glue around the engine and the valve cover and bolt it back down.wipe off the excess..done.
He has seen the car, I haven't. He needs a new girl friend who isn't so hard on vehicles.
most likely they mishandled or damaged something with your transmission during the R&R process....probably a cooler line not tightened properly or something as simple as that...if it wasnt leaking before then they should inspect it for free....if it is determined that the problem was due to negligance...they should repair it for free...if it turns out to be a seal or something non related to the process then they should have discovered the problem while testing the new rear main & notified you of the problem...at this time the reinstallation of the transmission would have been done so the most you can expect will be a slight discount on the labor....a good service tech. should have done a thorough inspection while the trans. was out & any problem,s should have been detected at that time....but that would have been the best case senerio....hope for the best but be prepaired for the worst....good luck!
You could have a head gasket leak. When head gaskets go you don't always get water in the oil or oil in the water. Your local shop should be able to test that for you. Its a very simple and fast test using a block tester.
1994 toyota what? Camry, Celica, 4 Runner what car?. You have a blown head gasket if your exhaust smells sweet. If your car is blowing out white smoke all the time (other than when warming up) you have a blown head gasket. Lots of toyota Straight six's and V6 engines had head gasket and sludge problems in the late 80's and early 90's. If you have a coolant leak and your car is not leaking coolant but you are still using it up your head is blown. you can also check your oil if its milky looking than your engine is done for that's a shore sign of a blown head. also if the coolant has oil in it than that would tell you the same thing.
The smog test checks the pollution the ENGINE makes. The wheels have nothing to do with that. However if you are worried about that then replace the custom rims you now have with somebodies stock rims for the test then put yours back on afterwards. Some of those people don't understand or like you because you have the different rims! (Does having the spoke rims make you a bad person?) LOL
