I Need Help Troubleshooting On My 1987 Ford Bronco 2 2.9L 179Ci V6 Fi.?
Yes Ive Got A 1987 Ford Bronco 2 With The 2.9L 179Ci V6 Fi. Every Time When Im Driving, Im Starting To Smell Antifreeze. Ive Checked All The Fluids And I Also Replaced All The Hoses, Water Pump, And Thermostat. Im Still Smelling Antifreeze. If You Guys Have Any Ideas As To Why Im Smelling Antifreeze I Would Really Appreciate If You Can Help Me Out. Thanks.

If you can not find the leak anywhere, but the smell persists and the vehicle is indeed loosing anti-freeze, you might be looking at a leaking head gasket. It might be leaking it into the oil, where the oil looks a little like chocolate milk. It might be leaking it directly into the combustion chamber, usually a misty fog coming out of the tailpipe.

How Much Does It Cost To Replace Two Cylinder Head Gaskets?
I Have A 2001 Toyota Camry That Needs Two Cylinder Head Gaskets Replace. An Auto Mechanic Quoted A $ 2800 To Do The Job. Is This A Fear Price?

That quote sounds very high if its for just the gaskets and not the actual cylinder heads. I would diffenitely get some comparison estimates. Also it could be other parts/repairs may need to be done in conjunction with the head gasket replacements.

I Did Lose A Cal Grant For College Because My Parents Didn'T Tell Me If My Grades Were Low I Would Miss Out. Can You Believe That? My Dad Know About But Kept That Information To Him Self. So Far 1 1/2 Years 27 Units I Have Only One Fail So I Am Doing Pretty Good If My Gpa Is 2.70, Right? Thanks For Reading.

Well I'm 20. How the hell did you get from "Is this a good buy"? to "Are my grades fine"???? If you don't know much about cars bring it to a good mechanic and see whats wrong with, even if you do know quite a bit you should still get it checked out. Use the problems in that car to your advantage when bargaining. I wouldn't pay more than a grand unless it was in exceptional condition which is unlikely. Where I live a 2.7 is pathetic. All that depends on who your comparing yourself to.

Question About Car Repair?
I Just Took My Ford Focus To A Repair Shop, To Get It Checked Out. The Mechanic Quoted Me At 500 Dollars Because The Engine Bearings Are Worn Out (Which The Mechanic Said Was The Reason It Was Dying). Im Just Curious If Thats About The Right Price, And The Right Diagnosis

Definitely get another opinion.
How did he diagnose this? compression check? leak down test? Did he pull your oil pan off to look at your bearings.
did he verify your oil pressure?

What year model is the car how many miles, what are the symptoms we need a little more info.

Now its your car & you know better than any of us, tell me please that you change the oil every 3000 miles.

The car needs jumping is a battery voltage symptom

When was the last time you put a new battery in the car?

Does your engine light come on?

These cars need 12volt & more to make everything work properly, ecm, fuel injectors, maf sensors, Idle air control valves etc. Check that battery.

Idling slow could be a bad or clogged converter,
clogged fuel lines or such.
check all fluids, oil level, transmission level, if its an automatic, radiator fluid and all. Maybe bad gas.

an oil pressure test could verify if your loosing oil pressure & verify the bearing clearances. But they would need to know the proper pressures for a normal stock car & compare it to yours.
The cars too new in my opinion to need bearings unless you neglected oil changes.

I hate Scum that try to get over on people, yet this may not be the case but it sure seems odd to me.

Go somewhere else first. Id get 2 MORE opinions then you'll know.

Automotive Repair As A Career?
I Was Wondering If Automotive Repair Was A Good Trade To Get Into And I Was Also Wondering What High School Classes That Would Help Me Get Into This Trade. Location Is Canada. Thanks.

Physics class is the gold standard for learning automotive technology. Newton's laws of motion, Watt's law of power, Ohm's law of resistance, and Bernoulli's law of displacement are the automotive technician's best friends.

Learn mechanical and electrical engineering. Read all the books, especially the automotive encyclopedia, to get the terminology firmly embedded into your memory so you can accurately and verbally articulate the problems you see for other technicians. This is how you will learn the most...from the experience of others in the same field of study.

Good Luck and begin reading today.
