In addition to, you only do not know what's actually wrong together with your vehicle, until you bring it apart and hope with all your might it is possible to use it back together again again. A vehicle mechanic has become achieving this for several years and that he can certainly diagnose and repair any difficulty your vehicle can be facing. Right Tools You want the correct tools plus a decent workspace to begin focusing on auto repair. Until you happen to have a whole garage with tools and equipment dedicated to this, you will have to invest in the essential tools to fix your vehicle. Naturally, without prior experience dealing with car repair, you might not know what you should purchase, along with, you may never utilize these tools again. Working with a professional car mechanic can eliminate the demand for anyone to invest money into equipment and tools you're unlikely to make use of again while he will already have everything readily available. Obviously, in the event you attempt a DIY repair, things can go wrong, as well as once they don't, it can take you plenty much more time to obtain your car running than should you engage a mechanic. You might have your automobile from commission for a couple of days when taking it into a mechanic, but it really sure beats the inability to go to work! Spend Less Perhaps one of the more compelling reasons to drop your car off for repair at the mechanic's is to save cash. You won't have to invest money into tools, equipment, and auto parts you may never need. Not forgetting, while your car or truck is out of commission, you might want to rent an auto or go ahead and take bus-- costing you even more money! Hiring a mechanic for auto repair could help you save from the long run, particularly if consider that work well done can prolong the life span of the vehicle. The next time your vehicle gives you trouble, why not stop in a car mechanic's?

Ok, Im Already 33 Years Old, I Worked In Banks All My Life And It'S An Ok Job. But I Am Tired Of It, Tired Of Seating On A Desk All Day With A Phone.
I Want To Be An Automotive Technician (Mechanic) I Don'T Know Anything About Cars But I Love It. If I Could To A Training School And Get Just Basic Certification. Can I Start Working Right Away? Is It Hard To Get A Job Like That After Im Certified Or They Prefer People With Lots Of Experience....
Once Again, It'S Not Really The Money Or The Need Because I Make Ok Money Like 35K A Year But I Want A Big Change In My Life.
Any Suggestions, Advices
I've been doing this for more than 30 years; automotive industry isn't what it used to be. Top Ten Auto Shop in Payson Directory
You have to keep up with ever changing demands, especially electronics, transmission, engines and drive-ability. You cannot afford to fall behind; if you do then you won't be making any money.
Right now it is bad time to become automotive technician.Nobody is making money. The economy isn’t that good and many people cannot afford to have their vehicles repaired.
There are few good Technical Schools but they aren’t worth a penny because I’ve seen student graduates from them and ‘expect” to make more than 18 dollars an hour, unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way. You have to start from the bottom and work your way up.
I've also seen them excel in tests and quizzes but failed miserably when it comes to fix the vehicles. Most Popular Auto Shop in Payson Directory
On top of that, many dealerships preferred technician that already has manufacture trainings, it is a lot more than basic certifications.
If you're GM certified tech, then good luck finding any job beside GM dealership. Ford won't hire you, Dodge won't hire you, and the list goes on and on or you can find a job in auto repair shop but most of them don't give you good pay and benefits.
Nowadays, good technicians are hard to find because most inexperience techs are just parts replacer, they really don't take their time and diagnosis any vehicle properly. Best Ten Auto Shop in Payson Directory
Example, Oxygen sensor codes, 99% of them [including internet expert] would simply replace oxygen sensor.
Good tech will interpret the code description and find out why and then fixed the problem.
Bottom line, good technician can easily make over 50k a year that because this particular tech has the will and motivation to keep up ever changing automotive industry.
If you have that attitude then go for it otherwise seek different job.

1991 Ford Bronco Erratic Idle.?
My 1991 Bronco With A 5.8 351 Has A Very Erratic Idle. It Has Lost Much Power And Runs Like Crap Overall. It Ran Fine But All Of A Sudden It Got Worse And Worse. The Rpm'S Very From 600 To 1500, It Dies Constantly And Then Wont Start For Like 10 Minutes. While Driving It Backfires, Misses, Stalls, Etc. It Smells Like Gas Or Exhaust Really Bad After Its Been Running To.The Passenger Side Of The Engine Heats Up At Least 100 Degrees Hotter Than The Drivers Side. ( After Driving 20 Minutes It Melted Some Of The Heater Box And Wheel Well), I Just Cut Off The Cats And It Got Much Better But It Is Still Hotter. Im Running Out Of Ideas. In The Last Month Ive Already Replaced The Tps Sensor, Intake Manifold, Valve Cover Gaskets, Plenum Gasket, Spark Plugs And Wires, Rebuilt The Distributor, A New Set Of Fuel Injectors, New Egr Valve, New Idle Air Conrol Valve, And Fan Belt. Its Getting Really Expensive So I Need To Narrow It Down A Bit. I'M Mechanically Inclined So I Know How To Work On It, Ive Even Taken It To A Shop But Still Cant Make It Run Right. Any Advice Is Greatly Appreciated. I Was Thinking , Bad Cam Sensor Or Even The Whole Camshaft, Maybe A Week Fuel Pump? Maybe The Computer Is Messed Up? I Don'T Think It Has A Vacuum Leak Because I Tested It And So Did The Shop And All Was Clear.
Often, idle problems on your Ford Explorer will be easy to diagnose and fix with the right information and tools on hand. If you have the time and the will to tackle the problem yourself, dedicate a weekend afternoon to doing so. You will learn more about your Explorer engine and save some money on the way.
1. You may encounter three common idle problems on your Ford Explorer: you may notice the engine idling erratically, at high speed, or one of the cylinders failing to fire during idle. Very often, these problems come from lack of engine maintenance. However, if your Explorer engine has high mileage, critical engine parts or components like the head gasket, timing chain or camshaft may be worn out.
2. Narrow down the likely cause of the problem as much as possible. Consider the most logical component to start troubleshooting on the system you suspect is causing the problem. If you are testing a component on the ignition system, for example, you might want to check for a good spark at the end of the spark plug wire first. Then work your way down to the ignition coil to make sure they are working according to manufacturer specifications.
3. Check these components and systems if you have noticed an erratic idle: inspect vacuum hoses and intake manifold for leaks; check the air and fuel filter for obstructions; troubleshoot the fuel pump for low pressure; also check the ignition, fuel injection or engine control systems. With excessive idle speed, check for vacuum leaks as well, a sticking throttle linkage. Then check the fuel injection and engine control systems. If the engine is missing during idle, check for a clogged fuel filter, vacuum leaks, and problems in the ignition and emission systems.
4. Your Ford Explorer vehicle service manual will give you detailed steps to troubleshoot specific systems and components to identify failed components. The manual list manufacturer specifications for the different components on your Ford explorer when required, which you can compare against the numbers you obtain during your own diagnostic procedure. You can find this manual at most auto parts stores.
5. Most of the diagnostic tools to check for the most common causes of idle problems on your Explorer are relatively inexpensive: A vacuum gauge and hand vacuum pump will help you test for vacuum pressure and vacuum operated components; a multimeter will be essential to test the various components in the ignition system; and a fuel pressure gauge can help you confirm if the electric fuel pump on your computer is failing.

Overheating Problem On '96 Toyota 4Runner.?
I Have '96 Toyota 4Runner, And It Overheats A Lot, And There Is Thick White Smoke Coming Out Of The Tail Pipe, The Floor Would Become Hot, And The Smoke Coming Out Of The Tail Pipe Would Smell Also. I Am Trying To Figure Out What The Problem May Be. Any Ideas?
i'm afraid it sounds like you've blown your head gasket and possibly cracked your head itself or engine block. this is a very expensive repair that costs far more than what your SUV is worth.
pop the hood and open up the coolant reservoir. if there's alot of thick black oil in it. then it's your head gasket.
Should I Purchase This Hyundai Elantra (2000)?
Please View The Following Link And Suggest Whether Or Not I Should Buy It. Are Hyundais Foreign Cars? Would You Question Why The Price Is So Low Because Of Just The Trunk. I Would Think That Could Be Repaired For About A Grand Or So. I Plan On Taking A Look But Wanted Some Opinions.
Hyundai's are built in South Korea, quality brand, but don't hold their value like Japanese cars have. I don't question why the price is so low, I just look at the extensive damage and high miles on a low original cost car. If the car had no body damage it would probably sell for about $1500. This car needs more then $1500 in repairs and even then may have more problems. He says the car needs lights, deck lid, and quarter panels, that is well over $2000, plus who knows how much rain damage has been done. Here's a better cheap car for you http://ventura.craigslist.org/car/551159...

Classic Cars With Decent Gas Mileage?
I Know Some Exist But Any Specific Ones That Stand Out From The Rest And What They Get?
I Am Talking Cars From The 60S-Mid 70S.
There were a number of cars that had the 302 v8 or the 289 or the 6 cylinder ford mustang, the torino the galaxy 500 was a big car, but even the 351 with a good carb got 20 mpg. ford had the falcon and then in the 70s the grand Torino came out. Im sure there were a few other models. I liked the chevy 327 that was a good small block v8 so was the 283 it was in the caprice, the impala the nova, pontiac had a ventura with a 260 small block v8 that was a good motor. Its a matter of researching what you like and buying one. There are plenty of chevy and fords for sale, Take a look in auto traderclassics.com you can type your zip code in the find section and check all 50 states to see what is available and another good magazine for classics is hemmings motor news www.hemmings.com this is an old car lovers magazine that is from way back, and has world wide links to car lovers all over the world. There were lots of classics available there last time I went looking. This is a good time to buy, prices are down some on almost everything and some will have to go lower if they want to sell sooner, that's just how the market is. There were some pretty decent older corvettes for sale cheap for a while there, the years prior to the smog and certain ones like the 78 and the 79 are popular but hold the value well, too bad gas mileage was never part of the mystique.
