The Best Way To Effectively Tackle The First Big Auto Repair Job Now you understand how to change oil inside your car, you may wish to undertake
a much bigger auto repair task. Oftentimes, car enthusiasts plan to take a DIY approach to car repair not merely being a hobby, but as a way to save money. In case your car keeps deteriorating and you could barely pay for the parts to repair it, there's no way you can pay for professional labor. Prior to deciding to tackle a major repair job, have a look at some of the expert advice below! Research First You can't take apart your vehicle and wish to use it together again again should you don't know all the parts. Unless there is a unusual vehicle, it is possible to get ahold of the aftermarket manual for your personal make and model. These manuals can be really useful when you are identifying the various components of your car and how they can be created. Not to mention, there are super easy to follow diagrams that may simplify this process. Aside from a physical manual, turn to Internet forums for help. Odds are, somewhere worldwide, someone has recently asked the identical questions as you may. If you feel stuck or you have a specific problem you can't wrap your head around, post on the forums and request! Clear Workspace Area Taking care of an automobile takes considerably more space than a lot of people would estimate. You may be thinking your garage has ample room, but you may well be in for a rude surprise as soon as you begin the repair. It's advisable to clear plenty of room and set up up a workspace without additional clutter to make your task easier. Repair Needs Time To Work It's important to realize that auto repair takes quite a lot of efforts and perseverance. When the vehicle you would like to repair is your only ride to work, put in place a carpool by using a friend or find alternative transportation prior to taking your car or truck from commission. Be prepared to make a lot of trips to your hardware store and await your vehicle parts ahead in, which can all devote some time. Keep Organized It's easy to take something apart, but it can become a nightmare to get it back together again again. Once you have many nuts, bolts, and washers you're removing from the car, it might feel as if an impossible task to not forget the actual way it all goes together. Prior to taking your car or truck apart, take a photograph of methods the various components look when properly installed. Once you've done that, label everything using a white pen and keep them properly sorted in both plastic baggies or old egg cartons. You may have a good amount of enthusiasm for auto repair, but be sure you do your research first, clear enough workspace, while keeping everything properly labeled. Many novice mechanics also have discovered that taking the time to generate a checklist can also help produce a world of difference! Should you stay organized and go comprehensive, it will be possible to correctly repair the initial car.

I think the first generation Rio is derivitive of what Ford sold in the US badged as the Aspire.
The Ford Aspire was an appropriately named car. It aspired to be a real car but fell short. Best Ten Transmission Rebuild in Payson Directory
The first Rio had it's share of problems. Electrical, head gasket, etc... Really no worse than an Escort, Cavalier, or Neon though.
The current generation (05+) is a similar design to the Hyundai Accent. It should be a better quality car
What Is The Highest Paid Automotive Mechanic Top Ten Transmission Rebuild in Payson Directory?
I Asked A Question A Couple Of Weeks Ago About Mechanics And I Saw That Someone`S Mechanic Teacher Worked At Land Rover And Made Over $200,000 A Year. If You Are An Automotive Mechanic For A Luxury Car Company Does That Generally Pay You High? I Have Always Wanted To Be A Mechanic For A Nice Company Like Mercedes-Benz Or Bmw
most Mechanics are paid on what is called a flag hour scale based on an hourly rate. so if a say for instance a tune up,and a brake jobwith turning the rotors. calls for a total of 7 flag hours. And the Mechanic completes the entire Job in 3 hrs. Then they pay him for 7 hrs at what ever his hourly rate is. but if that same job takes him 10 hrs to complete then he only gets paid for 7 hrs. So a good mechainc who is fast and accurate can make as much as he wants in one day. So $200,000 a year is possible without working for BMW , Mercedes- Benz.
What Toyota 4Runners (What Years) Had Problems With Blown Had Gaskets?
I'M Looking At A 1999 Toyota 4Runner V6 And I'M Wondering If There'S A High Likelihood Of The Head Gaskets Going Out. Or We'Re Those Problems Fixed By That Year Top Ten Transmission Rebuild in Payson Directory?
Head gaskets haven't really been a trouble spot on either of the 3rd-generation (1996-2002) engines. There is the occasional head gasket failure in that generation, but the percentage isn't large enough to be notable.
The engine with the most notorious head gasket issues was the 3VZ-E 3.0L V6 that was available in 4runners from 1988-1995. Even then, the problematic head gaskets were replaced by Toyota under a service bulletin and the failure rate on the replaced gaskets is not high enough for concern. The rumor mill ran wild with the initial head gasket failures, so the 3VZ-E still has a tarnished reputation, even though it's a fairly decent engine as a whole. I Failed My Smog Test?
My 2001 Cadillac Deville Just Failed The Smog Test. It Said It Was The Vehicle Failing The Mil/Check Engine Light Test Due To Failure To Successfully Complete All Obd Self Tests. Also The Obd Diagnostics Said The Catalyst Was Not Ready And The Evaporative System Not Ready. Can Anyone Explain This To Me And Suggest What I Should Do? Thanks Top Ten Transmission Rebuild in Payson Directory
The car runs some tests of the emissions system as you drive it. Sometimes these tests require several hundred miles of normal driving to complete, or specific types of driving, called a "drive cycle". For example, some tests might require the car to be warmed up and going over 35 mph for a certain amount of time.
OBD means On Board Diagnostics. Having OBD tests not complete means the OBD system hasn't had time to complete all its tests. This can happen if the battery was replaced or run dead recently.
http://www.justanswer.com/cadillac/2ujzp-need-drive-cycle-cadillac-seville-sls-2001.html shows a drive cycle. You just need to do the ones related to the catalyst (5 minutes of steady 55-60mph). That should take care of your evap system also. If not, do the ones that say "EVAP purge" also. Most Popular Transmission Rebuild in Payson Directory
How Do You Change The Water Pump In A '95 Ford Contour Do You Have To Remove The Motor Mount Or Timing Belt 10 Best Transmission Rebuild in Payson Directory?
For the V6 of this model year, it's relatively easy. Best to ensure the engine cannot be started by removing the battery ground cable first. While draining the coolant via the rad petcock (don't ask me how these things get their names), remove the plastic cover over the front cylinder bank. The water pump should then be visble on the driver side of the block below the front head. It is driven by the front camshaft pulley and a belt that uses a small tensioner. You can release the belt tension by hand. The air filter housing cover and inlet that is attached to the air horn (on top of the engine) and anything connected to this assembly, must be removed. There are also a few small hoses, wiring connectors and other paraphenalia that will have to be disconnected. Make careful observations during dis-assembly and re-assembly. Sorry that my memory is a bit fuzzy on this part, but I recall that some of the pump mounting bolts are what are sometimes referred to as through-bolts (since they pass through something you usually don't want to disturb; in this case the pump housing attached to the block). I was careful not to disturb this housing too much; there may have been one or two bolts holding it in place that did not need to be disturbed. If that's the case, leave them alone and you should not need any other gaskets other than the one for the pump assembly. Always check your new parts for clues to dis-assembly and to confirm you have the right part for the job. Make sure all of the old gasket material has been scraped/sanded of of the block before installing your new or rebuilt pump. 10 Best Transmission Rebuild in Payson Directory

an off the wall guess not knowing your area, somewhere 500 or under,IF its only a head gasket.Chances are you'll need the head planed and that requires the head being "stripped of all components.Any one agreeing to just do a head gasket is not a mechanic,as heads usually warp or crack before the gasket goes......George

Hey Everyone. The Head Gasket For My 1994 Toyota Camry Xle Blew This Weekend (Real Fun Stuff As I Was Driving 4 Hours From College To Surprise My Ma On Her 50Th Bday).
How Much Am I Looking At To Repair It? Should I Go To A Toyota Dealer Or Private Mechanic?
if u go to a dealer u are looking at at least $75 an hour just to look at the problem plus most if not all the parts being marked up. Ask your friends if they know a reliable private mechanic and find out what his rates are . The big difference is going to be how can you wait if you can rate it may be money ahead to go with the private. if not it could be faster but more $ at a dealer

1994 Toyota Pickup Failed Smog Test?
Failed The High Speed Hc Has To Be Below 220 Parts Per Million. Mine Ran At 1143.
Then Took It To Get Evaluated For 100 Bucks Roughly And They Say No. 3 Isn'T Firing/ And Is An Internal Engine Problem And Will Probably Need A New Engine Soon. Truck Is Missing But Still Runs Strong. Any Tips On Getting It To Pass For Now? I Heard Something About Methanol. Anyone Tried This Before?
By internal engine problem they mean lack of compression due to worn rings, damaged valve or piston. There's no fix in a bottle or tune up that will fix it. You can have an engine leak down test done to see what the problem is. If your not planning on expensive engine work remove the #3 cylinders fuel injector wire connector and spark plug wire or coil. If the check engine light comes on just place a jumper wire on the injector wire connector, and ground the spark plug wire to a bolt on the engine. And hopefully by eliminating the slow burning and unburnt fuel from that cylinder you could pass the test. V6 or inline four? You can get by on five of six cylinders easier than three of four. People used to deactivate one or more cylinders to increase fuel mileage, but power would be down and the engine would run rough.
Why My Car Comsume Much Oil?
I Have Got 1996 Toyota Camry 2.2, Which Had A Problem About 2 Weeks.
My Car Works Fine, But After I Drive Without Coolant Fluid Around 1.5 Miles. After That I Find Out That My Car Consumes Too Much Oil. It Consumes Around 1 Quart Per Week (150 Miles) And It Had A Little Smoke For Couple Days. Right Now It Has No Smoke But It Still Consume Too Much Oil.
I Look At The Ground No Oil Was Leak.
So, Before Turning My Car To Garage, I Would Like To Get Some Ideas From You Guy? What Is Wrong To My Car Engine?
You overheated your motor, you may have trashed you rings.
The head gasket may be leaking also.
You need to have it looked at and a compression test.
Valve seals may have been burnt and cracked.
There is so many things that you may have ruined by overheating with no coolant.
