I Would Like To Hear Qualified Opinions From People Who Actually Own Or Have Owned This Car. Let Me Know Of Any Quality Issues And How Much You Like Or Dislike This Particular Model. Thanks All Best Ten Auto Repair Shop in Sedona Directory

I think the first generation Rio is derivitive of what Ford sold in the US badged as the Aspire.

The Ford Aspire was an appropriately named car. It aspired to be a real car but fell short. Best Ten Auto Repair Shop in Sedona Directory

The first Rio had it's share of problems. Electrical, head gasket, etc... Really no worse than an Escort, Cavalier, or Neon though.

The current generation (05+) is a similar design to the Hyundai Accent. It should be a better quality car

What Is The Highest Paid Automotive Mechanic Most Popular Auto Repair Shop in Sedona Directory?
I Asked A Question A Couple Of Weeks Ago About Mechanics And I Saw That Someone`S Mechanic Teacher Worked At Land Rover And Made Over $200,000 A Year. If You Are An Automotive Mechanic For A Luxury Car Company Does That Generally Pay You High? I Have Always Wanted To Be A Mechanic For A Nice Company Like Mercedes-Benz Or Bmw

most Mechanics are paid on what is called a flag hour scale based on an hourly rate. so if a say for instance a tune up,and a brake jobwith turning the rotors. calls for a total of 7 flag hours. And the Mechanic completes the entire Job in 3 hrs. Then they pay him for 7 hrs at what ever his hourly rate is. but if that same job takes him 10 hrs to complete then he only gets paid for 7 hrs. So a good mechainc who is fast and accurate can make as much as he wants in one day. So $200,000 a year is possible without working for BMW , Mercedes- Benz.

What Toyota 4Runners (What Years) Had Problems With Blown Had Gaskets?
I'M Looking At A 1999 Toyota 4Runner V6 And I'M Wondering If There'S A High Likelihood Of The Head Gaskets Going Out. Or We'Re Those Problems Fixed By That Year Top Ten Auto Repair Shop in Sedona Directory?

Head gaskets haven't really been a trouble spot on either of the 3rd-generation (1996-2002) engines. There is the occasional head gasket failure in that generation, but the percentage isn't large enough to be notable.

The engine with the most notorious head gasket issues was the 3VZ-E 3.0L V6 that was available in 4runners from 1988-1995. Even then, the problematic head gaskets were replaced by Toyota under a service bulletin and the failure rate on the replaced gaskets is not high enough for concern. The rumor mill ran wild with the initial head gasket failures, so the 3VZ-E still has a tarnished reputation, even though it's a fairly decent engine as a whole. I Failed My Smog Test?
My 2001 Cadillac Deville Just Failed The Smog Test. It Said It Was The Vehicle Failing The Mil/Check Engine Light Test Due To Failure To Successfully Complete All Obd Self Tests. Also The Obd Diagnostics Said The Catalyst Was Not Ready And The Evaporative System Not Ready. Can Anyone Explain This To Me And Suggest What I Should Do? Thanks 10 Best Auto Repair Shop in Sedona Directory

The car runs some tests of the emissions system as you drive it. Sometimes these tests require several hundred miles of normal driving to complete, or specific types of driving, called a "drive cycle". For example, some tests might require the car to be warmed up and going over 35 mph for a certain amount of time.
OBD means On Board Diagnostics. Having OBD tests not complete means the OBD system hasn't had time to complete all its tests. This can happen if the battery was replaced or run dead recently.
http://www.justanswer.com/cadillac/2ujzp-need-drive-cycle-cadillac-seville-sls-2001.html shows a drive cycle. You just need to do the ones related to the catalyst (5 minutes of steady 55-60mph). That should take care of your evap system also. If not, do the ones that say "EVAP purge" also. Most Popular Auto Repair Shop in Sedona Directory

How Do You Change The Water Pump In A '95 Ford Contour Do You Have To Remove The Motor Mount Or Timing Belt Best Ten Auto Repair Shop in Sedona Directory?

For the V6 of this model year, it's relatively easy. Best to ensure the engine cannot be started by removing the battery ground cable first. While draining the coolant via the rad petcock (don't ask me how these things get their names), remove the plastic cover over the front cylinder bank. The water pump should then be visble on the driver side of the block below the front head. It is driven by the front camshaft pulley and a belt that uses a small tensioner. You can release the belt tension by hand. The air filter housing cover and inlet that is attached to the air horn (on top of the engine) and anything connected to this assembly, must be removed. There are also a few small hoses, wiring connectors and other paraphenalia that will have to be disconnected. Make careful observations during dis-assembly and re-assembly. Best Ten Auto Repair Shop in Sedona Directory

Sorry that my memory is a bit fuzzy on this part, but I recall that some of the pump mounting bolts are what are sometimes referred to as through-bolts (since they pass through something you usually don't want to disturb; in this case the pump housing attached to the block). I was careful not to disturb this housing too much; there may have been one or two bolts holding it in place that did not need to be disturbed. If that's the case, leave them alone and you should not need any other gaskets other than the one for the pump assembly. Always check your new parts for clues to dis-assembly and to confirm you have the right part for the job. Make sure all of the old gasket material has been scraped/sanded of of the block before installing your new or rebuilt pump. 10 Best Auto Repair Shop in Sedona Directory

1991 Ford Bronco Erratic Idle.?
My 1991 Bronco With A 5.8 351 Has A Very Erratic Idle. It Has Lost Much Power And Runs Like Crap Overall. It Ran Fine But All Of A Sudden It Got Worse And Worse. The Rpm'S Very From 600 To 1500, It Dies Constantly And Then Wont Start For Like 10 Minutes. While Driving It Backfires, Misses, Stalls, Etc. It Smells Like Gas Or Exhaust Really Bad After Its Been Running To.The Passenger Side Of The Engine Heats Up At Least 100 Degrees Hotter Than The Drivers Side. ( After Driving 20 Minutes It Melted Some Of The Heater Box And Wheel Well), I Just Cut Off The Cats And It Got Much Better But It Is Still Hotter. Im Running Out Of Ideas. In The Last Month Ive Already Replaced The Tps Sensor, Intake Manifold, Valve Cover Gaskets, Plenum Gasket, Spark Plugs And Wires, Rebuilt The Distributor, A New Set Of Fuel Injectors, New Egr Valve, New Idle Air Conrol Valve, And Fan Belt. Its Getting Really Expensive So I Need To Narrow It Down A Bit. I'M Mechanically Inclined So I Know How To Work On It, Ive Even Taken It To A Shop But Still Cant Make It Run Right. Any Advice Is Greatly Appreciated. I Was Thinking , Bad Cam Sensor Or Even The Whole Camshaft, Maybe A Week Fuel Pump? Maybe The Computer Is Messed Up? I Don'T Think It Has A Vacuum Leak Because I Tested It And So Did The Shop And All Was Clear.

Often, idle problems on your Ford Explorer will be easy to diagnose and fix with the right information and tools on hand. If you have the time and the will to tackle the problem yourself, dedicate a weekend afternoon to doing so. You will learn more about your Explorer engine and save some money on the way.

Types
1. You may encounter three common idle problems on your Ford Explorer: you may notice the engine idling erratically, at high speed, or one of the cylinders failing to fire during idle. Very often, these problems come from lack of engine maintenance. However, if your Explorer engine has high mileage, critical engine parts or components like the head gasket, timing chain or camshaft may be worn out.
Approach
2. Narrow down the likely cause of the problem as much as possible. Consider the most logical component to start troubleshooting on the system you suspect is causing the problem. If you are testing a component on the ignition system, for example, you might want to check for a good spark at the end of the spark plug wire first. Then work your way down to the ignition coil to make sure they are working according to manufacturer specifications.
Troubleshooting
3. Check these components and systems if you have noticed an erratic idle: inspect vacuum hoses and intake manifold for leaks; check the air and fuel filter for obstructions; troubleshoot the fuel pump for low pressure; also check the ignition, fuel injection or engine control systems. With excessive idle speed, check for vacuum leaks as well, a sticking throttle linkage. Then check the fuel injection and engine control systems. If the engine is missing during idle, check for a clogged fuel filter, vacuum leaks, and problems in the ignition and emission systems.
Information
4. Your Ford Explorer vehicle service manual will give you detailed steps to troubleshoot specific systems and components to identify failed components. The manual list manufacturer specifications for the different components on your Ford explorer when required, which you can compare against the numbers you obtain during your own diagnostic procedure. You can find this manual at most auto parts stores.
Tools
5. Most of the diagnostic tools to check for the most common causes of idle problems on your Explorer are relatively inexpensive: A vacuum gauge and hand vacuum pump will help you test for vacuum pressure and vacuum operated components; a multimeter will be essential to test the various components in the ignition system; and a fuel pressure gauge can help you confirm if the electric fuel pump on your computer is failing.

Overheating Problem On '96 Toyota 4Runner.?
I Have '96 Toyota 4Runner, And It Overheats A Lot, And There Is Thick White Smoke Coming Out Of The Tail Pipe, The Floor Would Become Hot, And The Smoke Coming Out Of The Tail Pipe Would Smell Also. I Am Trying To Figure Out What The Problem May Be. Any Ideas?

i'm afraid it sounds like you've blown your head gasket and possibly cracked your head itself or engine block. this is a very expensive repair that costs far more than what your SUV is worth.

pop the hood and open up the coolant reservoir. if there's alot of thick black oil in it. then it's your head gasket.

Should I Purchase This Hyundai Elantra (2000)?
Please View The Following Link And Suggest Whether Or Not I Should Buy It. Are Hyundais Foreign Cars? Would You Question Why The Price Is So Low Because Of Just The Trunk. I Would Think That Could Be Repaired For About A Grand Or So. I Plan On Taking A Look But Wanted Some Opinions. Http://Ventura.Craigslist.Org/Car/560096764.Html

Hyundai's are built in South Korea, quality brand, but don't hold their value like Japanese cars have. I don't question why the price is so low, I just look at the extensive damage and high miles on a low original cost car. If the car had no body damage it would probably sell for about $1500. This car needs more then $1500 in repairs and even then may have more problems. He says the car needs lights, deck lid, and quarter panels, that is well over $2000, plus who knows how much rain damage has been done. Classic Cars With Decent Gas Mileage?
I Know Some Exist But Any Specific Ones That Stand Out From The Rest And What They Get? I Am Talking Cars From The 60S-Mid 70S.

There were a number of cars that had the 302 v8 or the 289 or the 6 cylinder ford mustang, the torino the galaxy 500 was a big car, but even the 351 with a good carb got 20 mpg. ford had the falcon and then in the 70s the grand Torino came out. Im sure there were a few other models. I liked the chevy 327 that was a good small block v8 so was the 283 it was in the caprice, the impala the nova, pontiac had a ventura with a 260 small block v8 that was a good motor. Its a matter of researching what you like and buying one. There are plenty of chevy and fords for sale, Take a look in auto traderclassics.com you can type your zip code in the find section and check all 50 states to see what is available and another good magazine for classics is hemmings motor news www.hemmings.com this is an old car lovers magazine that is from way back, and has world wide links to car lovers all over the world. There were lots of classics available there last time I went looking. This is a good time to buy, prices are down some on almost everything and some will have to go lower if they want to sell sooner, that's just how the market is. There were some pretty decent older corvettes for sale cheap for a while there, the years prior to the smog and certain ones like the 78 and the 79 are popular but hold the value well, too bad gas mileage was never part of the mystique.
