I Would Like To Hear Qualified Opinions From People Who Actually Own Or Have Owned This Car. Let Me Know Of Any Quality Issues And How Much You Like Or Dislike This Particular Model. Thanks All 10 Best Brake Service in Williams Directory
I think the first generation Rio is derivitive of what Ford sold in the US badged as the Aspire.
The Ford Aspire was an appropriately named car. It aspired to be a real car but fell short. Top Ten Brake Service in Williams Directory
The first Rio had it's share of problems. Electrical, head gasket, etc... Really no worse than an Escort, Cavalier, or Neon though.
The current generation (05+) is a similar design to the Hyundai Accent. It should be a better quality car
What Is The Highest Paid Automotive Mechanic 10 Best Brake Service in Williams Directory?
I Asked A Question A Couple Of Weeks Ago About Mechanics And I Saw That Someone`S Mechanic Teacher Worked At Land Rover And Made Over $200,000 A Year. If You Are An Automotive Mechanic For A Luxury Car Company Does That Generally Pay You High? I Have Always Wanted To Be A Mechanic For A Nice Company Like Mercedes-Benz Or Bmw
most Mechanics are paid on what is called a flag hour scale based on an hourly rate. so if a say for instance a tune up,and a brake jobwith turning the rotors. calls for a total of 7 flag hours. And the Mechanic completes the entire Job in 3 hrs. Then they pay him for 7 hrs at what ever his hourly rate is. but if that same job takes him 10 hrs to complete then he only gets paid for 7 hrs. So a good mechainc who is fast and accurate can make as much as he wants in one day. So $200,000 a year is possible without working for BMW , Mercedes- Benz.
What Toyota 4Runners (What Years) Had Problems With Blown Had Gaskets?
I'M Looking At A 1999 Toyota 4Runner V6 And I'M Wondering If There'S A High Likelihood Of The Head Gaskets Going Out. Or We'Re Those Problems Fixed By That Year Best Ten Brake Service in Williams Directory?
Head gaskets haven't really been a trouble spot on either of the 3rd-generation (1996-2002) engines. There is the occasional head gasket failure in that generation, but the percentage isn't large enough to be notable.
The engine with the most notorious head gasket issues was the 3VZ-E 3.0L V6 that was available in 4runners from 1988-1995. Even then, the problematic head gaskets were replaced by Toyota under a service bulletin and the failure rate on the replaced gaskets is not high enough for concern. The rumor mill ran wild with the initial head gasket failures, so the 3VZ-E still has a tarnished reputation, even though it's a fairly decent engine as a whole. I Failed My Smog Test?
My 2001 Cadillac Deville Just Failed The Smog Test. It Said It Was The Vehicle Failing The Mil/Check Engine Light Test Due To Failure To Successfully Complete All Obd Self Tests. Also The Obd Diagnostics Said The Catalyst Was Not Ready And The Evaporative System Not Ready. Can Anyone Explain This To Me And Suggest What I Should Do? Thanks Most Popular Brake Service in Williams Directory
The car runs some tests of the emissions system as you drive it. Sometimes these tests require several hundred miles of normal driving to complete, or specific types of driving, called a "drive cycle". For example, some tests might require the car to be warmed up and going over 35 mph for a certain amount of time.
OBD means On Board Diagnostics. Having OBD tests not complete means the OBD system hasn't had time to complete all its tests. This can happen if the battery was replaced or run dead recently.
http://www.justanswer.com/cadillac/2ujzp-need-drive-cycle-cadillac-seville-sls-2001.html shows a drive cycle. You just need to do the ones related to the catalyst (5 minutes of steady 55-60mph). That should take care of your evap system also. If not, do the ones that say "EVAP purge" also. 10 Best Brake Service in Williams Directory
How Do You Change The Water Pump In A '95 Ford Contour Do You Have To Remove The Motor Mount Or Timing Belt Best Ten Brake Service in Williams Directory?
For the V6 of this model year, it's relatively easy. Best to ensure the engine cannot be started by removing the battery ground cable first. While draining the coolant via the rad petcock (don't ask me how these things get their names), remove the plastic cover over the front cylinder bank. The water pump should then be visble on the driver side of the block below the front head. It is driven by the front camshaft pulley and a belt that uses a small tensioner. You can release the belt tension by hand. The air filter housing cover and inlet that is attached to the air horn (on top of the engine) and anything connected to this assembly, must be removed. There are also a few small hoses, wiring connectors and other paraphenalia that will have to be disconnected. Make careful observations during dis-assembly and re-assembly. Sorry that my memory is a bit fuzzy on this part, but I recall that some of the pump mounting bolts are what are sometimes referred to as through-bolts (since they pass through something you usually don't want to disturb; in this case the pump housing attached to the block). I was careful not to disturb this housing too much; there may have been one or two bolts holding it in place that did not need to be disturbed. If that's the case, leave them alone and you should not need any other gaskets other than the one for the pump assembly. Always check your new parts for clues to dis-assembly and to confirm you have the right part for the job. Make sure all of the old gasket material has been scraped/sanded of of the block before installing your new or rebuilt pump. Top Ten Brake Service in Williams Directory

What Would I Need To Start My Own Automotive Repair Shop?
Im Currently A Ford Technician And I Plan To Own My Own Business. What Would I Need To Start My Own Shop. What Education, Experience, And Anything Else?
Education : Although I've heard of auto-techs who have auto-engineering certifications, most have just learnt through years of experience on the job. However, getting certified for specific technical specialties in automotive repair may be a requirement in your state - for example : certification for handling hazardous gasses etc.
Experience : Definitely THE critical aspect of your business. For example, you can learn about changing a thermostat in a Ford Explorer, but what makes the difference is actually getting your hands on one and doing it! I think you should ask yourself this : if someone called you and asked you to help fix their car (not knowing WHAT kind of car it is), would you be confident of knowing what to do?
Anything else : Lots. Setting up a business involves a lot of nitty gritty. Try this page for a start :
I wish you all the best. We need MORE honest, reliable auto-techs in the world!

Smoke Coming Out Of Exhaust?
I Own A 95 Toyota Camry My Car Was Running Fine. I Let It Sit For A Few Hours And When I Went To Start It Up It Wouldn't Start. I Heard A Funny Noise And My Car Started Up The Second Time. I Was Too Scared To Drive Anywhere So I Just Let It Sit. A Couple Days Had Passed And I Had My Boyfriend Look At It. He Tried To Start It Up, And It Wouldn't. Then He Tried For A Second Time And It Started Up, But The Exhaust Was Really Loud And It Had White Smoke Rolling Out Of The Muffler. He Turned The Car Back Off And Opened Up The Hood And It Smelled Like Something Was Burning, Like Plastic. Well He Wanted To See If Any Smoke Was Coming Out From Under The Hood So He Hopped Back In My Car And Started It Up And It Started Up Perfectly Fine, But It Smelled Of Gasoline. Any Idea What Could Cause This And How Much Repairs Would Cost?
so it was running perfectly normal and this happened with no warning i would say you need to start checking your oil and see if any coolant has mixed with it. Also check and see if you get heat in the car if no heat or oil has starting to mix with coolant then you got a bad head gasket if not that some other part has failed that has caused coolant to get in your combustion chamber either way its well over a $1000 repair. One last thing has your car been to garage for any reason or has anyone else drove your car is it possible something foreign got in your fuel if not you got a serious problem.
I Really Want To Be A Automotive Mechanic. Please Tell Me What Classes I Should Take.

Bonus Question : What Do I Major In For This?
I would suggest auto shop.
College is a help, but not necessary to become a mechanic. A good trade school degree in today's market though is almost a must.

Having Car Troubles,Need Advice Please?
I Financed A 2000 Toyota Camry Solara In October Of 2009. I Made A 2,500 Down Payment And I Owe 5,500 Left On My Pay Out. Now, I Had The Car For 3 Months And The First Month And A Half Was Great Until I Started To Have Problems. The Car Passed Inspection And Everything But When I Went To Go And Get My High Beams Fixed, I Found Out That The Car Had More Problems Than I Was Originally Aware Of. I Found Out That The Car Had Been In An Accident In April Of 2009 And The Way That The Put It Back Together Was Terrible. When The Checked Out The High Beams The Lights Went Hay Wire And I Ended Up Spending 500 Dollars On Getting A New Switch Relay, And Another Switch Box That Goes To The Wiring On The Side That It Was Hit Was Crushed And Corroded With Rust. Then I Noticed That I Was Losing Anti-Freeze Every 3 Days But There Was No Leaks On The Ground. I Took The Car To My Mechanic And He Found Out That I Had A Very,Very Small Leak On The Head Gasket Of The Engine Where The Anti-Freeze Was Leaking. He Told Me That If I Got On Side Of The Head Gasket Replaced For $600 I Would Have To Replace The Other Side As Well For $600. But I Ended Up Getting It Sealed With A Aluminium Solution That Lasts Up To 2 Years For $130. The Car Was Fine And The Leak Was Fixed Then Like 2 Weeks Later The Car Started Running Horribly And The Check Engine Light Came On. Once Again I Was Back At The Shop And My Mechanic Told Me That Because Of The Anti-Freeze Leak I Had Some Of The Solution Seeped Onto My Sensors And Now I Have To Get Them Replaced Plus I Need A Tune Up Which Is $800 Dollars. Not To Mention The Fact That I Have Been In A Rental Car At My Own Expense For A Month Which Has Cost Me $1500. My Car Is Going To Be Fixed This Week And I Want To Trade It Into A Real Dealer Ship And Get A Fairly Brand New Car But If I Trade The Car In It Will Only Knock Off $1500 Off Of My Pay Off Amount And I Want To Put $1500 With It Leaving Me With 2500 Dollars In Negative Equity. Plus In Need At Least 2 To 3 Months To Get The Money And Boost My Credit Score Up 50 Ponits To Get A New Car And I Dont Know If Thi Car Is Going To Hold Up Or Not After This Last Repair. Someone Please Give Me Some Advice. Also When I Took The Car To Pep Boys For The Corrided Light And Relay Switch, They Told Me They Think The Car Was Under Water Before But When I Did The Car Fax The Title Came Back Clean And There Were No Reports Of Any Water Damage, Just Crash Damage.
You cant believe the carfaz report because the car might have been fixed by A back yard mechanic and that wont show up on car fax. Put the car up for sale and try to find a buyer, maybe you can get some of your money out of it that way. It is possible that the car was involved in one of the floods around the country or hurricane. Do not drive it any more than you have to. Good luck
