Is Kia Rio A Decent Used Car?
Hell All - Looking For A Car To Get For Mom. Are Used Models From 2004 To 2007 Any Good? Would Probably Look For One With 60K Mile Or Less. I Would Like To Hear Qualified Opinions From People Who Actually Own Or Have Owned This Car. Let Me Know Of Any Quality Issues And How Much You Like Or Dislike This Particular Model. Thanks All Best Ten Collision Repair in Williams Directory

I think the first generation Rio is derivitive of what Ford sold in the US badged as the Aspire.

The Ford Aspire was an appropriately named car. It aspired to be a real car but fell short. 10 Best Collision Repair in Williams Directory

The first Rio had it's share of problems. Electrical, head gasket, etc... Really no worse than an Escort, Cavalier, or Neon though.

The current generation (05+) is a similar design to the Hyundai Accent. It should be a better quality car

What Is The Highest Paid Automotive Mechanic 10 Best Collision Repair in Williams Directory?
I Asked A Question A Couple Of Weeks Ago About Mechanics And I Saw That Someone`S Mechanic Teacher Worked At Land Rover And Made Over $200,000 A Year. If You Are An Automotive Mechanic For A Luxury Car Company Does That Generally Pay You High? I Have Always Wanted To Be A Mechanic For A Nice Company Like Mercedes-Benz Or Bmw

most Mechanics are paid on what is called a flag hour scale based on an hourly rate. so if a say for instance a tune up,and a brake jobwith turning the rotors. calls for a total of 7 flag hours. And the Mechanic completes the entire Job in 3 hrs. Then they pay him for 7 hrs at what ever his hourly rate is. but if that same job takes him 10 hrs to complete then he only gets paid for 7 hrs. So a good mechainc who is fast and accurate can make as much as he wants in one day. So $200,000 a year is possible without working for BMW , Mercedes- Benz.

What Toyota 4Runners (What Years) Had Problems With Blown Had Gaskets?
I'M Looking At A 1999 Toyota 4Runner V6 And I'M Wondering If There'S A High Likelihood Of The Head Gaskets Going Out. Or We'Re Those Problems Fixed By That Year Top Ten Collision Repair in Williams Directory?

Head gaskets haven't really been a trouble spot on either of the 3rd-generation (1996-2002) engines. There is the occasional head gasket failure in that generation, but the percentage isn't large enough to be notable.

The engine with the most notorious head gasket issues was the 3VZ-E 3.0L V6 that was available in 4runners from 1988-1995. Even then, the problematic head gaskets were replaced by Toyota under a service bulletin and the failure rate on the replaced gaskets is not high enough for concern. The rumor mill ran wild with the initial head gasket failures, so the 3VZ-E still has a tarnished reputation, even though it's a fairly decent engine as a whole. I Failed My Smog Test?
My 2001 Cadillac Deville Just Failed The Smog Test. It Said It Was The Vehicle Failing The Mil/Check Engine Light Test Due To Failure To Successfully Complete All Obd Self Tests. Also The Obd Diagnostics Said The Catalyst Was Not Ready And The Evaporative System Not Ready. Can Anyone Explain This To Me And Suggest What I Should Do? Thanks 10 Best Collision Repair in Williams Directory

The car runs some tests of the emissions system as you drive it. Sometimes these tests require several hundred miles of normal driving to complete, or specific types of driving, called a "drive cycle". For example, some tests might require the car to be warmed up and going over 35 mph for a certain amount of time.
OBD means On Board Diagnostics. Having OBD tests not complete means the OBD system hasn't had time to complete all its tests. This can happen if the battery was replaced or run dead recently.
http://www.justanswer.com/cadillac/2ujzp-need-drive-cycle-cadillac-seville-sls-2001.html shows a drive cycle. You just need to do the ones related to the catalyst (5 minutes of steady 55-60mph). That should take care of your evap system also. If not, do the ones that say "EVAP purge" also. Best Ten Collision Repair in Williams Directory

How Do You Change The Water Pump In A '95 Ford Contour Do You Have To Remove The Motor Mount Or Timing Belt Top Ten Collision Repair in Williams Directory?

For the V6 of this model year, it's relatively easy. Best to ensure the engine cannot be started by removing the battery ground cable first. While draining the coolant via the rad petcock (don't ask me how these things get their names), remove the plastic cover over the front cylinder bank. The water pump should then be visble on the driver side of the block below the front head. It is driven by the front camshaft pulley and a belt that uses a small tensioner. You can release the belt tension by hand. The air filter housing cover and inlet that is attached to the air horn (on top of the engine) and anything connected to this assembly, must be removed. There are also a few small hoses, wiring connectors and other paraphenalia that will have to be disconnected. Make careful observations during dis-assembly and re-assembly. 10 Best Collision Repair in Williams Directory

Sorry that my memory is a bit fuzzy on this part, but I recall that some of the pump mounting bolts are what are sometimes referred to as through-bolts (since they pass through something you usually don't want to disturb; in this case the pump housing attached to the block). I was careful not to disturb this housing too much; there may have been one or two bolts holding it in place that did not need to be disturbed. If that's the case, leave them alone and you should not need any other gaskets other than the one for the pump assembly. Always check your new parts for clues to dis-assembly and to confirm you have the right part for the job. Make sure all of the old gasket material has been scraped/sanded of of the block before installing your new or rebuilt pump. Top Ten Collision Repair in Williams Directory

1993 Toyota 4 Runner Wont Start?
So My 1993 Toyota 4Runner Has Been Running Rough For A Couple Days. Drove It Yesterday And Noticed It Was Overheating. Turned It Off And Had It Towed Home. I Filled It Up With Coolant (It Had All Leaked Out) And Checked The Rest Of The Fluids (No Water In The Oil). But Now It Wont Start It Just Cranks And Barely Fires. What May Be The Issue And What Should I Check. Any Help Would Be Great. Thank You

really, you need to determine how you lost all that coolant first. prolly point to the cause of the issue.
but,
me thinks you should suspect the worst.
pull plugs and see if they are fouled. prolly water foul. despite no water in oil. that would point to a water jacket/combustion chamber sealing issue for what ever reason.
at the onset, there maybe no signs of cross contamination of fluids and still have a bad head gasket.

i think you caught this relatively early. but if it is a head gasket, and this is a 3VZE V6, set some extra bucks aside for new timing belt and water pump. as the procedure for doing a head gasket will have those items exposed.
if this is a 22RE I4, get the timing chain assem inspected as well.

Car Help(Need A Good Mechanic To Answer Question)?
Hello, I Own A 1993 Toyota Camry Le With 117 K Miles And I Purshaced The Car In Late July With 114K Miles..Ever Since I Had The Car It Always Had A Rough Idle..I Put So Much Money Into It Trying To Figure Out What The Problem Was..New Timing Belt,Water Pump,Fuel Filter,Spark Plugs,Ignition Wires,Rotor,Distibutor Cap,Throttle Body Cleaning/Fuel Injection Cleaning,Alot Of Work And Still Did Not Find The Problem Of What It Could Possibly Be..Now Yesterday I Was Going About 40Mph Up A Hill And I Stopped To Turn..My Car'S Rpms Started Fluctuation Really Bad And It Stalled, I Smelled A Very Strong Burnt Smell For A Couple Mins..Then Tried Starting It Back Up And It Started Up Fine And Drove Fine.. But It Doesent Make Any Sence To Me..Please Let Me Know What Use Think Could Be The Problem.Thank You So Much

Locate and clean out your IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE. It is near your throttle body. Use Gum-out spray, or AMSOIL foaming cleaner, if you can find it. Hopefully, this car has genuine TOYOTA coolant and not local parts store, green stuff. Over time, this coolant will eat holes through the head gasket and the aluminum alloy in the cylinder head, causing rough idling problems. You did the right thing by using a fuel injector cleaner (Techron is the best). Hopefully, you used NGK or DENSO spark plugs, and not el cheapos from the local auto parts store. Replacing wires and cap and rotor may have been a waste of money. If your distributor is mounted on the side of the engine (cam driven) remove the cap and rotor and spray the inside of it with brake cleaner. This will dislodge any oil sludge that may have wandered inside, a common trouble on these cars. This will stabilize the ignition. The burning smell that disappeared might mean that your alternator bearings or regulator are beginning to burn up. Get a free charging system test at AutoZone. Power wash your engine, especially around the battery terminals, and where they connect to the starter and chassis. Good luck!!

How Much Would It Cost To Overhaul An Engine Myself?
I Graduated From Universal Technical Institute And I Know How To Rebuild An Engine Pretty Well But Ever Since Before I Never Payed For Parts Because When I Was Younger By Dad Bought All The Parts And In School, The School Supplied All The Parts. Now, My Brother Has A 1997 Toyota Camry 2.2 L 4 Cyl. And I Want To Full Overhaul It From The Cams All The Way Down To The Crank. How Much Would All The Parts Cost Such As Bearings, Rings All The Seals Etc. .. I Just Need An Estimate

Assuming you will reuse the pistons, connecting rods, cam, crank and valves, you can expect to spend $600-700 for the other parts (rings, bearings, seals, head gasket, oil pan gasket, hoses, plugs, belts, etc. You'll also have the expense (unless you have the equipment to do it yourself) of sending the head, crank and cams to a machine shop to have the valve seats done, and the crank and cams to be micrometered to check for wear, and ground to fit over-sized bearings if needed. Expect to buy a few extra tools as well, such as a ring compressor, a cylinder hone, a good torque wrench, etc.

1995 Ford Contour Still Won'T Start?
I'M Stumped. I Have A 1995 Ford Contour Which Will Crank But Not Start. I Have Tried Re-Timing It, Using Starting Fluid, Checked For Spark, Installed New Spark Plugs, Checked Compression, Fuel Pump Primes With Good Pressure, Nothing Seems Bad. Compression Is As Follows: 1- 110Psi 2- 105Psi 3- 65Psi (The Bad One) 4- 80Psi (The Other Bad One) These Were Done With The Engine Cold, At Wide Open Throttle And Spark Plugs All Removed. I Put A New Head Gasket In It, So It'S Probably Just Blow By Causing The Low Compression. But It Still Should Start. Especially With Starting Fluid. It Ran Before The Head Gasket Went Out, Sat For 5 Months, Now After A New Gasket, Won'T Run. Timing Is Dead On. I Have Checked It 5 Times, Advanced It, Retarded It, Set It Dead On Too. It Does Sputter Like It Wants To Start, But Only With The Throttle Wide Open. I Removed The Fuel Pump Relay, And Tried Starting It With Starting Fluid Only Also But It Just Sputters. So It'S Not Flooded Either. The Cylinder Looks Wet But Only After Reinstalling The Relay. It Seems Like Timing, But It'S Dead On. (I Replaced The Head Gasket 11Mos Ago Too And It Ran Fine. Any Help Would Be Appreciated.

Double check that the Cam is in the correct position. Your crank timing might be on, but if the cam is even just one tooth off it can cause the motor to not run.

Cooling System On 98 Ford Contour 2.0 Is Not Working. ?
Replaced Thermostat And Radiator Fan - Both Working. Car Gets To Hot After About 7 Miles Of City Driving. A/C Begins Blowing Hot Humid Air After ~3 Miles. All Fluid Levels Are Good. Turning On Heater To Blow Off Hot Air Does Not Help. Water Pump Replaced Last Year When Timing Belt Broke.

check the oil to see if it has a milky color to it, like from the coolant mixing with the oil, if thats the case you most likely have a blown head gasket.

A blown head gasket is the single most causes of overheating
