Issues To Consider About Auto Repair It can be a very stressful situation when worrying in regards to what company to decide on
for the auto repair, but provided that you know the way to the process it could be rather easy. Every company will claim they may have the very best mechanics and give the lowest prices, but clearly that is incorrect. The simplest way to know that you are currently having the best repair for your lowest price would be to spend some time to shop around. The first task to finding the best clients are to find the reviews which were left by previous customers. Chances are that you possess more mechanics in your town than you are able to count. It can be hard to pick which companies to even compare with others. Search for a site that offers the solution to see their reviews at the general star level. From there you should certainly find the top 10 companies in your area. Then you certainly should take time to browse the reviews which have been left by their past clients. Realize that there definitely is going to be negative reviews, regardless how good the business is, nevertheless the vast majority should be positive. Try to find negative reviews that share exactly the same issues, like needing to bring their vehicle back a short amount of time since it actually had not been yet fixed. Any shop should e in a position to diagnose and correct a car or truck the very first time. From the initial list of 10 you should be able to narrow it down to 3 different firms that are the top. You can then call each and ask should they be willing to give you an estimate free of cost. Should they have made your best three list they ought to be more than willing to achieve this. That method for you to understand what they feel to get the issue along with anything they think it can cost. Once you have quotes from all of the 3 you may then decide who to make use of. It might be tempting to determine simply in line with the cost, but how they treat you should also be regarded. Customer care is vital in terms of auto repair. If they are ready to explain everything for you and demonstrate that they feel you have value then they are truly interested in obtaining your organization and keeping it. Think about every factor of your interaction before you make a determination about which mechanic you feel is most beneficial to service your automobile. Every auto mechanic will claim they have the best costs, from parts to service, but the truth is that they all differ in many ways. Spend some time to investigate how others have felt concerning their service, what their costs are and how you personally felt once you visited their shop. This can be the simplest way to locate a quality auto mechanic shop which will provide what you need and expectations.

86 Bronco Ii Coolant Coming Out Exhaust?
I Have A 86 Ford Bronco Ii With About 190,000 Miles And When I Started It Up Today, About 1/4 Cup Of Water/Coolant Came Out Of The Exhaust, But Then It Stopped After A Few Minutes. I Usually Know A Lot About Engines, But Could These Be Really Bad For My Motor?
It Has A 2.9L V6 With Cherry Bomb Exhaust And Leaks Oil From Valve Cover Gaskets

if its coolant and not condensation, then it probably means your head gasket is bad or head cracked and coolant is seeping into your combustion chamber. once the engine is running and gets hot it will evap the liquid so it will appear that it has stopped coming from your exhaust. and yes it is bad for your engine. also it could cause overheating Best Ten Transmission Shops in Williams Directory
Dor A First Time Driver What Is The Best And Nicest Cheap Car I Should Get Most Popular Transmission Shops in Williams Directory?
Used or new? What size are you? Good somewhat cheap cars would be the Nissan sentra, Nissan versa, Toyota camry, Honda civic, ford focus (these are cheap and reliable but have to be meticulously maintained and driven lightly, head gaskets are a common issue with these), if you want a good used car go for an older pontiac grand am (I have always had good luck with these cars with little to no issues), Chevy cavalier, toyota corolla or Camry, Nissan maxima, Acura integra, vigor, or tl, Honda civic or accord. Your best bet is to go foreign for your first car. They usually don't require as much maintenance as domestic brands. Stay away from Isuzu, Mazda, and Hyundai/Kia (these brands will cost you tons of time and money....some of them are good cars but why take the chance on getting a clunker). Most Popular Transmission Shops in Williams Directory If you're buying used make sure you get a carfax report to make sure the car has never been in an accident or had any major repairs and try to find a car with less than 100k miles on it. Up to 120k is ok on a newer toyota, nissan, or Honda brand.
Why Is My 99 Nissan Sentra Gxe Losing Coolant?
My Car Is Losing Alot Of Coolant. I Have Had It Pressure Tested 4 Times. Twice While The Engine Was Hot And Twice While It Was Cold. Nissan Did The First 2. It Didn'T Show In Any Of Them. Nissan Told Me I Needed A New Head Gasket. I Took It To The Place I Got My Car From And They Tested It Over Night And Said It Didn'T Lose Pressure The Whole Night. It'S Not Leaking Into The &Quot;Heater Core&Quot; Either. It'S Using About A Gallon Of Coolant A Month. I Dont Know What Else To Do But I Dont Want It To Get Worse. 10 Best Transmission Shops in Williams Directory I Had Them Flush The Coolant And Replace All The Hoses. They Also Put Head Gasket Stop Leak To See What Happens But I Only Drove About 30 Miles And Checked It And It Still Seems That It Used More Than It Should...Where Could It Be Going?

White Smoke Coming Out Of Muffler??Head Or Valve Gasket Blown??
What Does It Mean When White Smoke Comes Out Of Your Exhaust Pipe?? Is It A Blown Head Or Head Gasket Blown Or Could It Be A Valve Gasket Blown?? Its For A Ford Contour 1996 10 Best Transmission Shops in Williams Directory??
That would most likely be a bad head gasket. A bad valve cover gasket would leak and run down the sides of the engine whereas a bad head gasket could actually leak anti freeze into the cylinders of your engine and be burned and come out the exhaust pipe causing the white smoke that you are seeing. 10 Best Transmission Shops in Williams Directory
Car Dealers Auto Mechanics?
Want To Know What The Setup Is, The Pay Practices Of Certified Mechanics Doing Car Repairs At New Car Dealerships. Do They Just Earn An Hourly Wage, A Set Wage? Or Do They Get Incentive Pay, Like A Bonus For Selling More Parts And Services?
I'Ve Heard Some Small Car Repair Shops Do Something Called ' Tab '. Best Ten Transmission Shops in Williams Directory They Try To Find Other Things Wrong With Your Car When You Bring It To Them For A Repair And They Pad The Bill - Therefore The Mechanic Makes A Bonus.
Mechanics generally get paid by the Job... Thus if the book says it takes 1 hour to do the job the Mechanic gets $.$$ for that hour of labor. If he can finish in 45 minutes and start another job then he gets to keep the extra. They ALSO generally get paid a co mission on Parts. And the commission depends on the shop, how good they are, and if it was the original job or something they found afterwords. The big question is not the Mechanic doing the work at the dealer its the person standing between you and the mechanic they call the service writer (who may or may not have any mechanic experience--- I know of a salesman becoming a service writer) they are paid the big bucks to upsell you on the extras like a tranny or coolant flush, tire rotation etc etc. Most Popular Transmission Shops in Williams Directory
But I agree with the writer....When you find a mechanic you like and trust STAY WITH them... a Good mechanic will want your return business more then they want to upsell you on some added service this trip. 10 Best Transmission Shops in Williams Directory
Overheated Toyota 4Runner?
My Wife Ran My Toyota 4Runner To The Point It Was So Hot,..It Quit Running,...It Started After It Cooled A Little Bit....She Did This 3 Times!! Same Day.........Pull The Radiator Cap, And Feel The Engine Compression Just Blowing Right Back In Your Face,..I Tried The Whole Gasket Sealer Treatment, Hell Nothing Stays In The Radiator.........Am I Looking At Head Gaskets?,...Or Would I Be Better Off To Start Searching For New Heads?
Check your water pump. I had an overheating problem with an old car I had. Radiator fluid wouldn't stay in the radiator. I tried putting that sealer stuff in there, but it didn't do anything. It turned out to be the water pump. Check it!
Have I Blown My Head Gasket, Egr Valve Or Is It Something Else?
Ok, Last Night Before Heading To Work, I Started My Car(2000 Ford Contour Se Sport W/ 189K Miles, 2.5L Dohc) There Was A Rattle, Kind Of A Knock, That I'D Never Heard Before. I Thought That Because The Temps Have Dropped That Maybe It Just Needed To Warm Up. So I Decided To Just Let It Warm Up, As I Drive Down The Street. I'M Almost To Work When I Notice That My Temp Gauge Has Went Form The Middle(Normal) To Way Past Red. I Was On The Expressway, So I Took The Nearest Exit, And Got To My Mothers House. As I Exited The Expressway, It Tried To Die, The Lights Were Going Dim, But, It Kept Going. I Got To My Mothers House I Had To Use Her Car So I Parked In The Grass, To Move Her Car, Got Back In My Car, And It Started Right Up, Like It Had No Problem. As I Backed My Car Into Place The Oil Light Came On, Then It Died, I Popped The Hood Just To Listen, And There Was This Bubbling Sound. So Does Anyone Have Any Idea What This Could Be? I Hope I Haven'T Blown My Head Gasket, Or Done Anything Seriously Wrong.
Here'S What I Know:
I Need An Oil Change.
The &Quot;Check Engine&Quot; Light Has Been On Because I Need An Egr Valve(Codes Pulled At Auto-Zone).
I Used Lucas &Quot;Tune Up In A Bottle&Quot; For About A Month Until I Would Be Able To Replace The Egr Valve.
**Best Answer Gets 10 Points, And Please No Insults, I Throw Them Back**
It appears everything comes back to the overheating problem. The only piece that may be out of place is why it died soon after you started it.
You could probably use some good news. I think your Contour uses the same temperature management strategy the Focus uses. It operates in three stages. In the first stage of seeing the engine is getting too hot the temperature indicator (not really a gauge, more like an idiot light with a pointer) is commanded to go into the red. In the second stage, if you do not respond to the gauge, the computer shuts down two of the cylinders. This reduces the amount of heat the engine is producing, pumps air through the other two cylinders, and gets the driver's attention for sure. I think you experienced that stage. In the third stage the engine is shut down.
I recommend you handle this as a sudden overheating problem. Get the cause identified and fixed, and see how things stand. The odds are probably in your favor. Don't worry about the EGR codes for now - they don't have anything to do with this.
Smog Check In California?
Will I Pass A Smog Check With A Cat And No Muffler
It Is A Cat. Converter With A Y Pipe
The smog test does not test the muffler. However we don't recommend you take the vehicle in for testing without it. It may cause the smog technician a problem with the emissions probe.
Smog machines calibrated in California (which they all are, every three days) are designed not to allow the testing of vehicles which emit oxygen levels exceeding a smog machines preset limits. If oxygen enters the smog probe during the test, the machine may not allow the inspection to continue and/or fail the smog inspection. To play it safe have a muffler installed.
As far as no catalytic converter... automatic smog check "visual" failure. Your vehicle must be equipped with a Catalytic Converter unless it was never required by the manufacturer. Note this is highly unlikely unless your vehicle is pre-1975. Your vehicle's underhood emissions label will indicate the CAT's requirement.

Toyota Camry Stalling Issue?
I Have A 1993, 4 Cylinder, Automatic, Toyota Camry. Recently I Had A Friend Of Mine Replace The Head Gasket Because It Blew. Since Then The Only Trouble I'Ve Been Having With The Car Is That It Stalls After I Floor It (If I Have To Get Up To Speed Quickly, Not Necessarily Putting The Pedal All The Way Down). After I Floor It It Will Start Jumping, Like It'S Out Of Gas, When I Take My Foot Off The Gas Pedal. Once I Stop Or Have To Slow Down The Rpm'S Just Drop And The Car Stalls. I Can'T Get It To Start In Neutral After This, So I Have To Stop The Car And Turn It Off Then Back On, Then It Will Run Fine Again. If I Let The Car Slowly Get Up To Speed Instead Of Flooring It, It Won'T Stall. I'Ve Checked The Vacuum Hoses And They Seem Fine. What Could Be Causing This?
There are a number of things that might cause this.
I suspect you should check the timing since you had a head job done it is very common that you might be a tooth off.
I would also have your catalytic converter checked it is not uncommon that they get clogged and could cause it to not be releasing back pressure properly.
How Do I Contact The Federal Bureau Of Automotive Repairs?
Hello, I Recently Asked A Question - Http://Answers.Yahoo.Com/Question/Index?Qid=20080108133737Aagcqjv
And One Answer Told Me To Call The Federal Bureau Of Automotive Repairs. I Searched But I Cant Find A Contact Number. Can Someone Please Help Me.
There is no federal bureau of automotive repairs. Regulation of automotive repair facilities and mechanics is handled on a State level. Depending on which state you live in it may be the Attorney General or the DMV. Go to your State's web site and search under automotive repairs or automotive regulations. After reading your issues in the other post, I'm surprised you didn't find another mechanic after the first botched repair.
