You don't need a lawyer to apply for a reconsideration. A lawyer really has no impact on that level of case. Like the previous answer said, you have to be unable to work for at least 12 consecutive months if you meet the financial qualifications. If it starts getting close to April (your 1 year point) and you are still unable to do ANY type of work, then you could reapply. If you apply for a reconsideration (you have 60 days from the date you were denied), and there is still 5 months before your 1 year date, they will say again that you are likely to improve to be capable of doing some sort of work by then.

You also need to be very careful about saying things like this on a public forum. If you cannot prove that he stole from your father, this is Libel and you could be sued.
