Do Attorneys Get Searched Before Visiting An Inmate?
Do They Get Strip Searched Or Just Frisked?

NO they are officers of the court and only pass through a metal detector if the facility has one.~~

Should The Amount Sought In Civil Litigation Be Limited?
If You Could Give Reasons Why And Examples That Would Be Great!! Thanks

Yes, please.

If you see a Doctor &/or Surgeon and they miss something, or worse through some form a negligence hurt you. You should have the right to sue, period.

But without some cap on the damages awarded your Doctor may be putting a quarter (or more) of his/her income for malpractice insurance. This is literally driving doctors out of states without caps in place. Which in turn makes even harder for you to get the health care you might desperately need.

Now i understand the frustration many people feel about doctors, corparations and others getting away with things and not paying for it and the should. But all Americans need to realize that civil litigation is now big business in its own right! How often do you hear about lawyers suing lawyers?

Many insurance companies and other businesses look @ how much it would cost going to trial (including paying the lawyers for defending them) compared to just settling. i.e. it could cost you 100,000 dollars to settle or 3 or 4 times that in court costs, lawyer fees and you still might lose. Look at the woman who sued McDonald's when She spilled their boiling hot coffee on herself. Was McD's coffee too hot, sure. It was famous for being scalding hot (that was their trademark). Maybe I should make a cup of coffee with my coffee maker and when its done, pour it over my head to burn myself-then sue the coffee maker company. Hey, they didn't tell me that pouring hot coffee over my head might be a bad idea.

p.s. McDonald's was willing to fight the suit at first. Then looking at the costs and the bad publicity a trial would involve McD's settled out of court.

Now i'm not a fan of Corparate America or shoddy Doctors. But i get the feeling that many Americans feel like they are getting screwed (which they probably are). So when it's their turn they do the same thing. And we fellow Americans pay for it one way or another.

Mesothelioma:I Had Rare Mesothelioma Cells Found?
I Had Rare Mesothelial Cells Found In Some Fluid Taken Out Of The Area Around My Lungs. No Malignant Cells Were Seen. I Have Scaring Seen In X Rays Of My Lungs. I Just Found Out That I Was Most Likely Exposed To Asbestos For Several Years Of Ceiling Replacement Work I Did. Does Anyone Know If I Am Heading For Mesothelioma? Is There Anything I Can Do To Prevent It?

Asbestos exposure does increase your risk of mesothelioma (and of lung cancer - MUCH MORE so if you also smoke). If no malignant cells were found there is yet no sign of a clear mesothelioma but your pleural fluid with mesothelial cells must be regarded as a warning sign. There is unfortunately no preventive therapy.

Can Someone In A Legal Services Mos In The Usmc Volunteer To Do That Job In Iraq Or Afghanistan?
It Doesnt Seem Like An Mos That They Need Much Of In That Area....But, If A Marine Wanted To Serve There And Still Get Experience In That Field, Is It A Possiblilty?

Yes, of course. I was legal services in the US Army and there were USMC legal folks with near me in Iraq. You are needed more than you think...divorces, legal assistance, citizenship, marriage, wills, power of attorneys, criminal law, contract law, admin law, claims, operational law, trial defense, taxes, court reporting, etc. We did all that plus, regular convoy ops and guard duty. hell I got wounded with a bunch of guys from 3/8 in Ramadi in 2006 as a paralegal. My females went on missions (Lioness) where they searched houses and buildings with our female interperters and the line units (cav, infantry, Marine, Army) weekly. We didn't sit on a FOB.

So don't think we are pogues out there especially if you are at around an Army brigade or Marine RCT.

What Is Joint Custody?
I Am A Single Mother Who Is Struggling With My Ex Over Visitation. I Want My Son To Be Around Is Father But When Ever I Got To Pick Him Up Or Drop Him Off We Always Argue. On Top Of That His Father Is Very Inconsistant. He Changes Days Last Min And Calls Me On A Day That I Have Plans With My Son And Demands That I Bring Him By. I Rearrangement My Sched A Lot For Him So That He Can Spend With Our Son But He Wants More And Its Stressing Me Out. So I Suggested We Just Go Through The Courts So That We Wont Have These Problems Anymore. He Yelled At Me Because He Doesn'T Want To Be Put On Child Support. He Threatened That He Would Seek Joint Custody Because He Know Im Very Attatched To My Son And Said That Thats Means That We Would Alternate Entire Weeks. I Don'T Know If That Is True Or What Joint Custody Means I Know There Is Joint Physical And Joint Legal But Dont Know Anything About Either. Can Someone Explain?! Also: I Dont Know If This Makes A Difference But We Were Never Married, My Son Is One Yr Old But Has Never Spent The Ngiht With His Father B.C My Ex Has A Hectic Sched

Joint custody means that you share the care of the child, and the arrangements are agreed in court. it could be 5 days with you, two with him, but he'd be expected to keep his part of the bargain.

Your hex sounds like a total prat. One minuite he's screaming about you going to court in case he's made to start paying maintenance, the next he's threatening you with a custody battle? In court? Where they sort out the maintenance?

You know what I'd do? I'd let him start the custody proceedings, and watch him prove that he can provide a stable, nurturing ( and safe!) environment for the baby, and that he knows how to care for him. You're doing all this already so you don't have to prove anything. If he's not paying regular money towards the baby's upkeep go after him for the dreaded Child Support; it's his child, he has to face up to his responsibilities. Child Services should be able to advise you, and if I were you I'd start the ball rolling now for legal aid.

Keep a diary; all the changed arrangements, arguments, promises, the lot. If he wants you to hand the baby over other than on the arranged day and at insufficient notice, just say "no" and then go out so he can't come barging in making a scene. It won't matter to the baby yet. Personally, I wouldn't blame you if you weren't too keen on him having the baby for more than a couple of hours at a time unsupervised by someone competent. I 'd definitely be dubious about him coping overnight.

Good luck, and stand up to the jerk.
