How Do I Replace The Thermostate On A 1993 Toyota Camry?
My '93 Camry Is Overheating. I'M Not Exactly Sure What Is Causing It To Overheat. I Was Told It Was The Water Outlet Cap. Changed It Yesterday And It'S Still Overheating. I Wanted To Change The Thermostat Myself That Way I Don'T Have To Pay A Mechanic For Something That May Not Be The Problem. I Don'T Know If It'S The Thermostat, The Water Pump Or The Head Gasket. If Anyone Can Supply Any Info I.E. Links, Photos, Whatever, I'D Appreciate It. By The Way It'S A V6 If That Makes Any Difference. Thanks.

i own a repair shop,,in Tennessee, and i repair a lot of Honda,s and from what you have described to me,,it could be the water pump,or the thermostat,,to find and change the thermostat you just follow the top radiator hose down to the motor, and there you.ll see a housing that it is attached to,and two or three bolts that hold it to the engine, remove them, and the thermostat is under the housing,,be sure and drain some of the coolant from it or it will run out when you remove the housing, also be sure and clean all the old gasket off,and put a new one one with the new thermostat and make sure you replace the thermostat in like the old one was,and don't over tighten the bolts that hold the housing on,,and re-fill the system, and your done,,good luck,i hope this help,s.

What Places Can Oil Leak From A 1993 Toyota Camry 2.2 Le?
It'S Not Coming From The O Ring, Oil Pan Gasket, Head Gasket, Or Valve Cover Gasket.

How can be sure it isn't leaking through the head gasket? If the car is leaking alot but there is no oil drips on your drive the leak is internal, most likely the head gasket. How long have you had the car? Some cars use more oil than others, it may be that this car uses more oil than other, unless you know that the car didn't use as much oil previously.

My Stepson Has Got A '87 Ford Bronco 2, 5 Speed Manual, 4X4. With A 2.9 In It. He Blew The Head Gaskets In It And Now Wants To Replace The Engine With A 302. We Have Heard Different Things That Is Involed In Doing This. How Difficult Will It Be And What All Would He Have To Buy I.E.Conversion Kit,Bell Housing ? At What Costs? I'Ve Been Telling Him Just To Replace The Head Gaskets And Be Done With It, But He Wants A V-8. Scott

For How Long Is The Smog Check Certificate Valid?
I Want To Sale My Car But They Ask Me If The Car Has The Smog Certificate. I Have The Last One I Did In May/2010 Is It Still Valid Or Needs A New Smog Check?

I believe it is 90 days. If your vehicle passed smog, you can always lower your price and make a deal with the buyer to smog the vehicle themself. It is about $20-$80 to do regular smog.

Bmw 325 I 2001 Smog Test?
I Bougth A Bmw 2001 325I And It Couldnt Pass Smog I Spent A Lot Of Money On It Change Alternator Make 100K Full Service All And All I Spent Around 2500 What Are My Chnaces If This Car Doesnt Pass Smog What Other Option Do I Have Need Help

It depends on what work was performed on the 100k service and the reason it failed the initial smog test , you just don't know if it will pass until you have it retested , unfortunately the consumer has no choice .

most places will run a pretest for you if you ask or find a shop that has access to an emissions analyzer who can check it before you actually have it retested .

I cannot give you ideas on what to check because you did not mention what was done on the service why the test center failed your particular vehicle . You should receive a report from the testing facility stating why your vehicle failed and a good tech can interpret the report and advise you what should be checked .

I have found several BMW's that have come into my shop which have failed a smog test due to a small vacuum leak at the throttle body, which is something beyond the typical 100k service
