Can We Take Power Of Attorney Over My In-Laws?
My Father Inlaw Has Cancer. We Can Not Go And Take Care Of There Yard He Is Not Suppost To Be Driving He Is Half Blind He Lives Fare In The Country We Need Them Closer To Take Care Of Them He Refusses To Move

sorry, but no dice. power of attorney is something they would have to give to you. you can't declare it. just as you can't go pick a house and make the owner sell it to you. it has to be their choice and they would have to have the necessary papers drawn up for it to have any legal standing.

How Can I Get A Free Lawyer?
I Am Being Forced Into A Divorce..My Husband Has Depleted Our Accounts... I Cant Afford A Lawyer...What Can I Do?

Many counties/courts have free self-help centers, especially for family law. They typically won't represent you in court, but have staff attorneys & interns who will explain the process & help you with paperwork, motions, responses, etc. Contact the couthouse to find out if they offer such services.

There are also various local non-profit organizations that offer similar help to low-income people. And you may even be able to find an attorney willing to take the case pro-bono (free) or at a reduced fee. Contact your local Bar Association for a referral.

Do Attorneys/Lawyers Hire Someone With A Felony Record?
I Have A Felony On My Record From 5 Years Ago That'S Not Violent Or Drug-Related. I'M Good At Office Work So I Applied To Attorneys For Office Positions. I Thought They May Be More Open-Minded To Giving Someone A Second Chance And They Deal With People In Need Of Legal Help And/Or Criminals All The Time So They Wouldn'T Look Down At The Person As Much As Someone Else Might. They'Re Not Law Firms, Just General Practice Attorneys. Does Anyone Know If Lawyers/Attorneys Will Hire Someone With A Felony Record?

Attorneys are like any other employer. I look at the whole person and I would not automatically disqualify someone simply because they had a felony. It would depend on the type of felony, how long ago it occurred and what you have done with you life since then.

If you are qualified and honest about your past and are qualified, you might get the job. If you try to hide it from me, don't count on getting the job.

Legal Consultation?
Hello, My Mom And Me Have Been Having Trouble With Our Landlord. I Was Wondering If Certain Things The Landlord Was Doing Was Legal. We Have Been Renting This House For 12 Years. We Have Had Many Problems With The House Such As Mold In The Basement, Flooding, Leaking Ceilings, Bug Problems, Broken Central Air, And Issues With Neighbors And A Business On The Property. Some Of These Problems We Have Told The Landlord About, And Some We Haven'T. Some Issues Have Been Fixed, But Most Haven'T. The Nearby Business Recently Got In Trouble With The City And The Cops. I Think They Got In Trouble Because They Weren'T Licensed. My Sister'S Fiance Was The Person Who Notified The City About Them. After The Business And Landlord Got In Trouble, The Landlord Seemed To Want To Double Our Rent. I Don'T Know If He Will Or Not For Certain Though. The Business Owner Was Also Blaming My Mom And Harassing Her One Day. I Was Just Wondering If There Is Any Legal Action We Could Take, Or If We Should Even Take Legal Action. I Don'T Know What Kind Of Agreement Or Lease We Have With The Landlord. My Mom Signs Some Papers Once Every Year; I Don'T Know The Details About Those Papers Though. I Also Have To Mention That My Mom Is Occasionally Late On Rent. She Pays The Rent Every Month, But She Is Not Consistent With When She Pays It. Sometimes She Pays At The Beginning Of The Month, And Sometimes At The End. It Would Be Hard For Us To Move Because Most Other Places Are Too Expensive For Us. Thanks

there are procedures to try to force repairs, failure to report issues makes you liable for further damage...in most areas, landlord can increase your rent as much as they want each time the lease expires

WHY ARE YOU RENTING A HOUSE IF IT IS TOO EXPENSIVE? a 1 bedroom apartment in good condition would be better...or 2 bedroom if there are too many kids for a 1 bedroom (yes parent/child can share a bedroom, even mom/son). brothers/sisters can share a bedroom....occupancy limits may allow 6 or more in 2 bedrroms
any child at least 14 should be working to help pay for something better.

JUST TO PROVE YOU CAN'T GET BASIC LEGAL ADVICE HERE...YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN WRONG INFO ABOUT THE AC

I actually researched this..ACs that come with the house are landlord responsibility...unless the lease is ending and notice is given prior that the AC will no longer be maintained.

Information On Family Laws And Minors Rights?
I'Ll Give You A Little Insight On My Situation And Any Help Regarding The Issue Is Appreciated.. I'M Seventeen Years Old I Used To Live With My Parents (Against My Own Will But Seeing As I Am A Minor I Never Really Had Any Choice There.) I'Ve Been Homeschooled All Of My Life And I Am Almost Completely Self Supportive. My Parents Are Insanely Strict And Controlling. They Took Away My Place Of Employment Because They Didn'T Like Me Having That Freedom, They Have Told Me I Had To Pay Rent, $30 A Week As Well As Do Household Chores And Yard Work, Even Though I Have No Income. I Pay For Everything I Own Including But Not Limited To: Clothing, Hygiene Products, Tools, Gas [When I Used To Be Allowed To Drive Their Vehicles], I Paid For My Own Drivers Education Along With All Forms Of Id, License, Work Permits, Everything. It All Came Out Of My Own Earned Money. I Never Got Any Kind Of Allowance From Them. I Am Not Allowed To Leave The House Unless I'M With Someone My Parents Approve Of (Which, Seeing As They Are Religious[Not Christian, Calvanist] Was A Limited Number Of People.) And I Usually Had To Take A Sibling Along Even When I Went Then. But That Also Meant I'D Be Paying For Gas And Anything Else I'D Need When I Went. They Took My Job When I Met A Guy Because It Was A Restaurant Job And He Visited Often. They Tried To Restrict Any Contact I Had With Him Including Threatening Imprisonment Or At Least A Court Date Because He Had Just Turned 18 Making Him A Legal Adult. They Tried To Threaten To Get Him For Sex With A Minor, Even Though I'M A Virgin Lol And They Have Absolutely No Evidence Anything Happened At All, Because It Didn'T. (Okay Though Really. When Him And I Hung Out We Would Work On Trucks Or Fix Things. He Was Teaching Me To Be An Auto Mechanic And It Has Always Been Completely Harmless, My Parents Have No Real Reason To Hate Him Besides The Fact He Isn'T A Calvanist...) I Tried To Leave The House Before And They Called The Police On Me. This Is Three Police Calls Later. My Father Used To Hit And Throw Me And My Siblings Around But When I Got Older I Threatened To Call The Police If He Laid One Little Finger On Me. (And He Sure As Hell Believes That I Will, Cause He Should.) After I Left Again I Came Home To Find He Had Taken All Of My Clothes, Bedsheets, And Shoes So I Was Left With The Outfit I Had Been Wearing When I Left, And He Told Me He Wouldn'T Give Them Back Unless I Paid Past And Current Rent And Kept Up With Chores. He Took Away My Phone Once, Giving It To A Neighbor Who He Had Throw It Away. Even Though That Was My Money Bought And Paid For, With My Name On The Phone. They Told Me I Wasn'T Allowed To Eat Anything At All Until I Gave Them My Second Phone (From Walmart) And When I Tried To Leave The House To Buy Myself Breakfast Or Dinner They Would Try To Stop Me And Threaten To Call The Police On A &Quot;Runaway&Quot;. I'Ve Tried To Bargain With Them Saying I'D Pay Them Rent If I Could Have My Job And Phone Back And Let Me Go Where I Please, But They Say &Quot; You Are In No Position To Make Such A Deal&Quot; And That I'M Going To Have To Just Submit And Do Whatever They Say. They Tell Me It'S In My Best Interest And That I'Ll Thank Them Later, Though I'M Telling Them They Ain'T Ever Gonna See Their Grandchildren If They Keep It Up. I'M Tired Of All This Nonsense And Child Abuse. I Have Little Siblings As Well And I Don'T Want Them To Have The Same Problems I Did. Is There Anything I Could Do Here? I'Ve Been Researching Child Laws And Minor Privileges But I'Ve Got No Luck. Can I Be Emancipated? The Other Day My Father Told Me &Quot;Leave This House And Don'T Come Back Unless You Have $180 For Rent&Quot; And So I Did Leave, I Spent The Last Few Nights With A Good Friend. She And Everyone Else Say My Situation Is Crazy But Idk What To Do.. The Thing Is. When He Told Me To Leave It Was A Saturday Afternoon After Everyone Knows The Bank Is Closed (That'S Obviously Where The $180 Would Be Coming From) And It Wouldn'T Be Open Until Monday... As Far As My Parents Are Concerned, I Don'T Have A Debit Card Because They Took That With My First Phone. My Only Possible Savings Withdrawal Would Be Two Days After He Told Me To Leave.. So Should I Just Consider This An Invitation To Just Leave For Good? I Know I'D Have Good Housing And Living Arrangements (Much Better Than If I Were To Stay At Home Anyway) And I'D Be Safe Out Of My House. What Should I Do?

well, the good thing is, you know the value of a dollar, and you know how to be responsible, but the truth is, it sucks living alone and it is expensive

if you move in with others without clear cut rules agreed upon and contract signed in ink and copies for everyone, you will have disorder without it

I remember having to not leave any food in the fridge cuz if anyone was hungry they'd just take it and not even offer reimbursement...I kept stuff in my room instead, then I kept the pots in my room cuz they'd dirty my pots and expect me to clean up. I stopped making any food and said, if you cook you clean, I don't cook I'm not washing dishes, just that simple.

then you have annoying friends coming over and no privacy....not to mention a roommate being short on the rent, or getting drunk or stoned.....

best option is to remain flexible at home....save to move out, but stay out of their way...at 18 you should have more freedom, tho you do live under their roof and they still will want you to live by their rules, you may have to take a stand on your birthday to let them know what you want.

and if you want to take a stand and move out, then I wouldn't stop you, but I'd tell you to carefully consider the options and don't burn your bridges to go back home if need be! get it?!

and forgive them for being fanatics, it's all they know....I'm a believer but I won't step foot in a church full of preaching.....now teaching is good, but preaching is just mush....I can't stand it....

you want to learn some freedom? learn common law...nope not a joke

real law begins with damages or injury, no damage or injury, then no crime which is unlike statutes

statutory laws are unconstitutional, but people keep consenting to them out of ignorance and not knowing how to challenge jurisdiction and how not to consent...it takes just a bit of practice to get it, and have the willingness to take a stand and any abuse that may come along with it, because they will not simply roll over for you, but if you stick to it, you will win in the end and get smarter about how you handle future issues that come up.

anonin scalia said the common law was the 4th branch of government for the "people" and only the "people"....and I understand california has the 1st common law court, new york should be next.

as for emancipation, by the time you filed everything and got to see a judge, you'd be 18....you'd be far better off learning common law and how to distance yourself from the racket of statutory laws.
just don't get reckless, stay in honor, and stay in the law and learn how to contract as well...just the basics

if you wish to learn more read watch sources

best wishes with your freedom

Questions About Lawyers...?
Alright So I'M A Senior This Year (Class Of 2012) And I'M Really Thinking About Taking Up Pre-Law In College Because I Eventually Want To Get Into Law School And Become Either A Family Lawyer Or Divorce Lawyer. I'M Not Even Sure About That Because I Want To Pick The 'Easiest' Lawyer Category But I Always Thought Family And Divorce Lawyers Were The Most Typical Too So I'M Not Sure. Questions 1.) How Could You Rank The Lawyer Categories From Easiest To Hardest ? 2.) What Is The Most Important Characteristic (Of A Person) To Have To Be A Lawyer? 3.) What Are Some Qualities/Skills You Should Have To Be A Good Lawyer? (E.G. Reading Comprehension, Analytical Thinking...Ect)

In the USA, to become a Lawyer, IF you go to school full-time:
1) Bachelor's degree - four years from a traditional college/university.
2) Study for LSAT. Take LSAT.
3) Law school - three MORE years.
4) Study for Bar Exam. Take Bar Exam in the state where you want to practice.
5) Pass the Character and Fitness Evaluation. Then you can practice Law.
BUT........
6) You still have to take additional classes/seminars/legal training etc. each year to obtain CEUs to keep your license to practice Law. (You aren't done with school!!)
7) In many states there are even laws requiring a certain percentage of your legal work to be "pro bono" (free of charge) for some charitable purpose.

There are NO jobs in the vocational field of Law.

Just do a search here on Yahoo Answers to see what is currently being said - the news isn't good.
