4 Ways To Help Your Lawyer Help You When you want a lawyer for any excuse, you have to work closely along with them as a way to win your case. No matter how competent they can be, they're gonna need your help. Listed below are four important ways to help your legal team allow you to win: 1. Be Totally Honest Or Higher Your lawyers need and expect your complete cooperation - whatever information you're likely to reveal in their mind. Privilege means whatever you say is saved in confidence, so don't hold anything back. Your legal team should know all things in advance - most importantly information one other side could discover and surprise you with later. 2. Provide Meticulous Records Keep a continuing and factual account of information pertaining to your case. Whether it's witnesses or payments being made, provide your attorneys with all the data they need to assist them to win. 3. Appear Early For All Engagements Never be late when you're appearing before a court and steer clear of wasting the attorney's time, too, when you are by the due date, each time. In fact, because you may have to discuss last second details or even be extra prepared for the truth you're facing, it's a smart idea to arrive early. 4. Demonstrate That You Have Your Act Together If you've been responsible for any kind of crime, it's important to be able to prove to a legal court which you both regret the actions and are making strides toward boosting your life. As an example, if you're facing driving under the influence, volunteer for the rehab program. Be sincere and linked to the community the judge is presiding over. Working more closely with your legal team increases your odds of absolute success. Try these tips, listen closely to how you're advised and ultimately, you need to win your case.

Anyone can sue. There is no way that we can know if you actually have a case since we don't know the specifics of your situation. Consult a lawyer who is familiar with medical malpractice suits.
Why Could One Attorney Not Represent Both Sides In A Trial By Providing Objective Facts?
Because our system is adversarial. It is a conflict of interest to try to represent both sides. It is not the job of the attorney to be the "finder of fact," that job goes to the judge or the jury.

Law School Question About Legal Research?
First I Am Not In Law School, I Listed This Under Law School Because It Will Be Easy For Anyone In Law School Or Who Has Been To Law School To Answer. I Just Started A Legal Research Course And I Do Not Have Any Legal Background. The Class Is Online And I Missed Last Nights Class Because My Daughter Was In The Er.....The Notes Online Were Not That Great. Anyway We Have To Search In Lexis Which I Have Never Used And I Just Have No Clue What Tabs To Look Under For The Information That We Are Supposed To Find For The Following Question
Locate The Price,Waterhouse Case Mentioned By Your Attorney. Then, Try This Sneaky Way Of Finding Later Cases That Are Likely To Be Similar: Instead Of Shepardizing The Case, Search For Later Cases That Mention This Case In The Body Of Their Opinion, By Reference To The Names Of The Parties: Hopkins W/2 Price Waterhouse.
Try The Search Tips Mentioned On The Link
What Link Is It Refering Too? Please No Comments About Me Not Knowing This
To find the case, type this in the "type a citation" box, which should be on the first page after logging in: 490 U.S. 228
That citation identifies the Price-Waterhouse case. It means that if you were looking the case up in a law library, you would find it in the 490th edition of the U.S. Supreme Court Reporter, on page 228.
For the second part of the question, you would go to the research system link, then click on the search tab. It sounds like your prof wants all cases mentioning Price-Waterhouse, so click the box next to Federal & State cases, Combined.
Then click go.
In the box, type (INCLUDING QUOTATION MARKS, and make sure you put v. not vs.) "Price Waterhouse v. Hopkins" and click search.
You will get over 3000 results.
Why Hire A Lawyer If I Can Search For Existing Patents Myself On Goverments Main Site?
I Went To The U.S. Goverments Main Patent And Trademark Site And They Have A Search Engine In Which You Can Type In Keywords (Such As Potato Peeler) And It Will Give A List Of Patents Relating To That Topic From 1790 To Now Or So It Says, So If Its That Easy Then Why Do I Always Hear You Have To Hire A Lawyer Or Someone Who Knows What They'Re Doing To Do An Patent Search?
You don't. You can mow your own lawn too. But a landscaper might do a better job of making your yard look nice.
In this case, a patent lawyer might know that what you are looking for isn't really a potato peeler. What you are looking for might be called an organic produce outer layer removal system. Since the patent doesn't include the words potato or peeler, your search wont find it.
Anyone Know A Good Traffic Attorney In San Diego?
My Wife Has 2 Moving Violations That She Needs To Contest. I'M Not Talking About Something That She Did And Is Trying To Fight Just For The Hell Of It. This Was Some Sort Of Mix-Up (Like Wrong Car) Or Other Error On The Officer'S Part. We Have A Witness, Etc, I Don'T Want To Risk Fighting On Our Own And Losing. Please Help. Thanks.
It'S 2 Seperate Tickets For The Same Moving Violation During The Same Stop. I Posted This Question Yesterday And All I Got Was A Response Saying That It Was Unbelievable For It To Happen Twice. It'S 1 Incident, 2 Tickets.
Most of the judges in courts here in San Diego are smart and fair. If you have details -- and especially a witness -- you could deal with this yourself without spending upwards of $1,500 hiring an attorney.
Just make sure you have all the facts written down concisely. If your witness can't attend the court date, obtain a signed affidavit from them, and have his/her name, address, and telephone number listed below their name & signature [have the entire affidavit typed or word processed, rather than hand-written].
Your presentation of the facts should be to-the-point and undramatic -- the judge will not endure your rambling on. Be pleasant and courteous, both toward the judge and the court but also in refraining from insulting the cop [he may be a bonehead, but you can't call him that -- respect is the key].
Finally, have an additional set of copies of your materials ready to give to the judge, rather than making him/her "borrow" yours. This means your detail sheet and the witness affidavit [make sure you retain the actual signed copy of the affidavit]. Oh, and remember to thank the judge for the court's time both before AND after you begin -- your expressions of appreciation should be the first and last things you say.
