Finding A Highly Skilled Lawyer Regardless of what your legal needs are you will find that there are countless lawyers in your neighborhood that advertise they focus on your sort of case. This may make the process of finding one with a great deal of experience somewhat of a challenge. However, when you follow the following it will be possible to restrict your pursuit off to the right one in almost no time. The initial step is to generate a set of the lawyers which can be listed in your neighborhood that specialize in your situation. When you are which makes this list you should only include those which you have an effective vibe about depending on their advertisement. Then you can narrow this list down by using some time evaluating their internet site. There you must be able to find the amount of years they have been practicing and a few general information regarding their success rates. At this stage your list needs to have shrunken further to those that you just felt had professional websites and an appropriate quantity of experience. You should then take the time to look up independent reviews of each attorney. Be sure to look at the reviews instead of just depending on their overall rating. The data in the reviews gives you an idea of the way they interact with the clientele and the time they invest into each case that they are focusing on. Finally, you should meet with at least the final three lawyers which have the credentials you would like. This will provide you with some time to truly evaluate how interested they are in representing your case. It is important to follow every one of these steps to ensure that you find someone which has the proper level of experience to help you the perfect outcome.

Legal Aid(Please Help!! Urgent!)?
Greetings My Name Is Micheal. I Recently Turned 18 February 12Th. I Am Originally From California And Moved With My Father In January(Start Of New Semester), Under The Premise That I Would Graduate Early In Early May By Attending A Privatized Virtual Class Room . I Have Never Drunk, Partied, Smoked, Or Kissed/Hung Out With A Girl--I Am A Virgin In All Those Respects, But In Around Last Month April My Father Pulled My Out Of School Citing That &Quot; He Was Not Going To Pay For Me To Sit Around And Do Nothing.&Quot; I Have Manged Around A 2.4 In High School And A 3.3 In Middle, Yet It Seems As Though I Have Made A Grave Error In Residing With Him. He Goes On Rants About How He Owes Me Nothing, Since I Am 18, And How &Quot;Every 18 Year Old Should Have A Plan.&Quot; Every Day, I Have Been Cleaning His House For Him And His New-Wife Jean Working The Backyard, Cleaning The House(Which Is An Unrepentant 2 Stories) And Cooking Dinner. Only To Be Told How I &Quot;Do Nothing Around The House&Quot; And How I Am Lazy. He States That He Will But Me Back In School I Simply Need To Give Him $200 Dollars For School Fees And Room And Board. Which Of Course, Working At A Sports Store Making $70 On Saturday'S Not Afford Me The Capital To Do It. I Wish To Leave But Am Hesitant To, As I Am Afraid Of The Repercussions. Upon My Leaving, He May Attempt To Become Outlandish, And Sue Me In Small Claims Court For Taking Items. Unfathomably , I Do Not Have The Receipts For All The Clothes I Have Purchased Over The Years Of 0-17. I Am Frightened That He Will Take All My Mail, Put It On A Street Corner, And Tell Me To Leave Come Soon. He And My Mother Have An Agreement With The Courts That Child Support Must Be Paid Until Around June 3Rd With A Pay Out Of $475 Dollars Per Month That I Have Stayed. In A Sense, He Is Housing Me,(As The Child Support Was Reversed In His Favor Since He Has Me In His Home) Until He Can Bide Enough Time To Gain The Money And Put Me Out Come The 3Rd, What Am I To Do? Can I Leave And Take Some Items With Me? Without Legally Being Held At Bay? I Am On This Circus Show Of Having To &Quot;Lie-Between-My-Teeth&Quot; To Relatives And Family Members About When I Graduate As The Second I Tell Someone I Will Be Forced To Leave. The Care Of The Court Order Only Works When I Am In School, Which Thanks To Me Not Realizing The Implications Of My Fathers Cantankerous Scheme, I Am No Longer In. Please Help.

You are an adult. You need a plan QUICKLY to move out. Your father has no obligation to house and feed you.

You are worried that he may sue you? There are bigger things to worry about. I do not think any judge will be interested in helping him recover any damages, as long as you only take your own clothes and personal items. (Do not take any electronics or appliances.)

Time to leave.

Good luck.

Can Anyone Apply For Legal Aid?
My Boyfriend Is 21 And Has A Crazy Ex Girlfriend And A 3 Year Old Daughter He Has Not Been Able To See. Hes Offered Support, But She Does Not Want It. She Would Rather Do It On Her Own Than Give Him The Chance To Be A Father To His Daughter. He Wanted To Handle Everything Without Having To Fight Her In Court But She Is Unreasonable. He Has A Job, But He Still Cannot Afford A Lawyer And He Has Zero Support From His Parents. He Currently Lives With His Parents. Is Anyone Able To Receive Legal Aid? And How Effective Is It? Are There People Out There That Can Help Him Establish Visitation Rights, And Pay Child Support? Also We Are Dealing With A Child That Is Growing Up On A Native Reserve If That Makes A Difference.

Not all legal assistance offices have departments that deal with custody and visitation. Some do though, so there is no harm in trying.

Some law schools have a clinic that provides free or low cost advice. Try your local law school.

The reservation might be a problem as well, especially if the child and mother are enrolled members. Depends on the tribe though.

Insurance Settlement Should I Get A Lawyer?
Okay I Was In And Accident Last Month On Jan. 7. Was Hit From Behind. I Went To Doctors Still Having Pains. I Was Told To Go To And Orthopedics Doctor But Have To Pay 100 Every Visit Cant Afford That. I Sent Over The Bills And Stuff But I Don'T Have A Lawyer. My Bills Comes Up To 2134 I Was Told I Should Get 3 Times That Amount And If Not Then Get A Lawyer I'M So Confused Please Help Thanks. Im Not Looking For Quotes But Looking For Help With Accident Claim I Was Told To Send All Medical Bills To The Insurance People And They Will Cover It

It's way too early to give away 1/3 of your claim, to a lawyer.

But I can tell you several things, starting with 1. getting a lawyer, will add at LEAST a year to how long you have to wait to get paid 2. There IS no "three times medical" rule, that's an urban myth and 3. what you're "entitled" to, heavily depends on your state laws, and what the actual injuries are.

Having NOTHING WRONG, you can easily get more than $2134 in medical bills, just getting checked out. If there's no injury, regardless of what state you are in, you're not going to get anything BESIDES medical bills - and in a no fault state, you have to get your medical bills under your own policy.

Additionally, you could have state 'no pay no play' laws come into effect.

Go talk to your agent. Ask about YOUR STATE LAWS. Do a couple minutes of groundwork, before you hand over your money to an attorney, who will only slow the case down.

I Need Free Legal Advice. Where Can I Go, Phone Line? Link?
Old (15 Years Ago) Car Accident. Collection Agency For Atty For Ins Company Trying To Collect Now. Is There A Statute Of Limitations? They Will Not Provide Me With Any Of The Accident Information. Ie, Drivers Lic, Police Report...What Can I Do? My Husband Says He Was Not In An Accident.

15 years ago? There is a statute of limitations on filing things like this in civil court and I'm pretty sure it's already passed. Usually statute of limitations for civil cases is 2-3 years. Check with legal aid in your area and see if they can help. If they are just now trying to collect, it's going to be darn near impossible because they are also on a statute of limitation of 2-3 years. They should have tried a long time ago. Good luck!

Plain English In Legal Documents?
I Have Almost Completed My Assignment...One Question Is All I Have Left To Do But I Don'T Even Know Where To Stert. The Question States.. Write A Claer, Well-Reasoned Paragraph On Why You Think It Is Important To Use Plain English In Legal Documents. The Piece Has To Be 250 Words In Lenght. Plz Help. English Is My 2Nd Language And I Am Struggling

Hi Dee. Your English looks pretty good to me--and I'm an English teacher!

You could start with a question. Why is it important to use plain English in legal documents?

If you prefer, you could start with a generalization. many people think the use of plain English in legal documents is important.

Then give your reasons, with examples, followed by a conclusion. You could go to the Internet, and surf down a glossary of legala terms (the harder the better) to illustrate how the average person with an average education might not understand everything.

Your conclusion should restate what you have already said.

I would have said....

MANY PEOPLE THINK THE TIME HAS COME FOR THE USE OF PLAIN ENGLISH IN LEGAL DOCUMENTS. HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED THAT, IF SOMEONE MAKES MONEY IN A CONTRACT, IT IS BECAUSE HE OR SHE IS SMART? BUT THE SAME PERSON, HAVING LOST MONEY, WILL SOMETIMES TRY TO CLAIM TO HAVE BEEN TRICKED BECAUSE THE LANGUAGE WAS TOO HARD.

COMPLICATED, LEGAL ENGLISH IS FINE FOR COURT WORK, AND IT INDEED HAS ITS PLACE WHEN IT COMES TO LAWYERS ARGUING THE FINE POINTS OF THE LAW. "THERE WAS NO VOLENTI NON FIT INJURIA, RES IPSE LOQUITUR!"

I'm doing your assignment for you, and I shouldn't do that! This should get your started--email me privately if you still need help.

Juvenile Justice System..?
Im Only 15, But I Have Had My Heart Set On Majoring In Social Work And Criminal Justice & Criminology And A Minor In Psychology So I Can Work In Juvenile Justice. I Want To Work With Juveniles Who Are On The Wrong Path. & I Was Wondering Is There Is Any Kind Of Volunteer Things I Can Do That Have To Do With This. & Like How Old Do You Have To Be To Intern Or Something, Like With Probation Or Some Kind Of Correctional Place. & Another Question Aside From This: If I Would Go To Law School To Be A Juvenile Lawyer, What Exactly Would I Be Doing? & If I Would Do This, What Kind Of Classes And Things Should I Take?

Question 1: Im not sure if there are any volunteer work you can do, but you could probably call the Juvenile Detention Center in your area and ask if there is any thing you could do to volunteer. You could also try calling around to different shelters in your city and tell them you want to volunteer and ask them what you could do. Question 2: First things first, finish you high school education, then enroll in college for Criminal Justice. Once in college they almost always have internships. I'm not sure where you live, but in Iowa to be a probation officer you have to have a Bacholors Degree and corrections only requires an Associate Degree. Question 3: You would be defending juveniles in court. Juvenile Lawyers are like any other lawyer you will have to do the same classes as any lawyer would and then pass the bar exam. Good luck I hope this was helpful.
