Most people today do not think about choosing a lawyer until they are in desperate need. The legal matter might be personal, like family law, for a separation or if you are looking for a bankrupcy or trust attorney. It may be a criminal circumstance you need to be defended on. Firms need to have law firms as well, no matter whether they are being sued for discrimination, sexual harassment, or potentially unfair business strategies. Tax lawyers are also effective any time engaging with government problems. Just like doctors, lawyers have expertise. A huge, full service law firm has a number of legal professionals with unique areas of expertise, so depending on your company legal issue, you can instantly hold on to the very best attorney to satisfy your up-to-date need without having to begin your search each time you need legal support. It is ideal to locate a legal representative you can believe in. You need one with a decent track record, who istruthful, efficient, and wins cases. You really want to have trust that they will defend you properly and bill you fairly for their services. Oftentimes a word of mouth from a good friend or business affiliate can be practical, however you should continue to keep your options open and examine all the firms available, simply because when you need to have legal support, you need it rapidly and you would like the very best you can manage to pay for. How Do I Know If The Attorney I Choose Is Capable?
Where Can I Go To Check The Credentials Of My Prospective Attorney Before I Pay And If He Is A Member In Good Standing With The Aba?
Go to your state bar website. They probably have an attorney search link. You should be able to find out if he has ever had any discipline.
This does not indicate whether he is competent or not; it just states if he has ever been disciplined, and is a member in good standing with the state bar association.
Word of mouth is the best indicator of his competency.
How To Begin A Clothing Company And Trademark A Logo And Name?
I Have An Id Of A Company Name And Trademark Slogan And Logo
What Copyrights And Legal Things Do I Have To Do So That This Idea Cant Be Taken Away From Me?
Roughly How Much Will Everything Cost?
Do I Have To Get A Lawyer To Do This Or Are There Online Sites That Can Do It For You?
You need a trademark registration. You don't need a lawyer and yes there are websites that can do it for you (for a fee of course). The cost depends on which country/countries you are looking to be protected in initially.
UK trademark in clothing goods classification would be £400+
EU trademark in clothing goods classification would be €900+
US trademark in clothing goods classification would be $500+
Is The At&T Early Termination Fee On Internet Service Legal?
I Recently Terminated My At&T Wireless Internet Service Because The Service Was So Poor. On Two Occasions I Visited Their Service Center For Assistance With No Positive Results. I Switched To Verizon And The Service Is Excellent. Att& Slapped Me With A $100 Early Termination Fee. Is It Legal When Their Product Doesn'T Produce. By The Way, Verizon'S Monthly Fee Is The Same As At&T So Price Has Nothing To Do With It...It'S Strictly A Performance Issue.
Unfortunately yes, it is legal. Covers their cost of terminating your service before the end of the contract. You should read the contract. You could try and fight it but you probably won't have much luck.
I know, not fair but unfortunately you signed up with them (did you see what Verizon charges for the same?). It is standard (crappy) practice.
And please, turn off the caps lock. No need to shout at us.
A Uk Based Immigration Lawyer Promises To Book A Seat With The Ukba... Can He Legally Do This?
A Uk Immigration Law Firm Is Promising To Book A Seat With The Ukba Before The 19Th Of July If I Pay Them Now -This Way The Cap/Additional Points That Come Into Effect After This Date Will Not Affect Me Even Though I Will Be Filing After This Date. Is The Firm Being Honest?
First time posting - so bear with me. I am a lawyer (not with capital visas) but with Westkin Associates but will try and avoid posting spam as a few other law firms seem to have done! A few points:
1. A law firm can offer this service if they have the correct registration with UKBA. The service is called the Legal Representatives Same Day Service. It should show up on a web search, there is a UKBA. They usually call these "slots".
2. Only firms registered with the law society or OISC can use this service. Capital visas have the OISC logo on their site so seem to be registered with them although I haven't checked this online.
3.A firm shouldn't charge you more for a slot because they can. They should only charge for work done or increased costs. Using the same day service can cost more , eg when we provide clients the same day service we have to pay a legal clerk to go there all day and so explain this to clients up front. How much more were they charging and what for? They cannot "price gouge" but can charge for work done or costs incurred.
4. This might be late but I assume you want to avoid the new changes, they have just come out here:
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/workingintheuk/tier1/general/applying/ - for Tier 1 and follow the link if you want Tier 2.
for you to see of they affect you.
5. I am in the process of preparing a guidance video for our clients on the new changes. I will happily post this on this page for your tmmrw.
Hope that helps,
I Want To Change The Drunk Driving Laws. What Are Some Ways I Could Go About Doing This?
Its For A Class. I Want To Make Them More Strict. What Steps Could I Take To Do This. Like Petitions? Raise Awareness? Best Answer Gets 10 Points
First decide if you want to change state or federal law. Currently there is no Federal statute against drunk driving (unless the offense occurs on federal law).
Then you want to figure out how strict you want the law to be. Minimum jail time/fines, loss of driving priveledges, ect.
Once you've done that you can certainly try and gather like minded individuals and start lobbying either your local representatives if you want to change local/state law, or Congressperson if you want to change Federal law. The more people you have with you and the more awareness you can raise through the aforementioned petitions or protests, the easier it will be to grab a lawmaker's attention.
Alternatively you can find a lucrative career, make a truckload of money, and throw tons of cash into a Drunk Driving SuperPac.
Need To Find A Lawyer Who Can Help Me With A Defamation Lawsuit In The Phoenix Mesa Area?
I Am Suing Aurora Behavioral Health Center For Defamation Of Character. It Has Been Said To A Third Party , Fourth , Fifth Party Was Spoken And Said In A Public Forum Court Room.
Defamation suits are next to impossible to win....mostly because people don't understand what has to be proven, and don't understand why they actually don't have a case.
You need to prove the following to win the suit:
1. That the statement made was factual in nature, and not opinion or based on an observation (i.e. "Pete was convicted of a crime" is a factual statement; "Pete is a scumbag" is an opinion statement and not subject to any sort of lawsuit.)
2. That the statement was untrue.
3. That the speaker knew at the time it was said that the statement was untrue.
4. That you incurred actual financial losses because of what was said.
A rumor is not defamation, opinion statements are not defamation, true statements are not defamation. Also, proving actual financial losses is very difficult unless you lost a job or clients because of the statements. Hurt feelings and being upset are not financial damages. Even if the statement was factual and untrue, you don't get free money just because you want it.
