4 Methods To Help Your Lawyer Allow You To When you need a legal professional for any excuse, you should work closely together as a way to win your case. Regardless of how competent these are, they're going to need your help. Listed below are four important approaches to help your legal team allow you to win: 1. Be Totally Honest And Up Your lawyers need and expect your complete cooperation - irrespective of what information you're going to reveal directly to them. Privilege means everything you say is saved in confidence, so don't hold anything back. Your legal team must know all things in advance - most importantly information another side could discover and surprise you with later. 2. Provide Meticulous Records Keep a regular and factual account of all the information associated with your case. Whether it's witnesses or payments being made, provide your attorneys with all the current data they must help them win. 3. Show Up Early For Many Engagements Never be late when you're appearing before a court and get away from wasting the attorney's time, too, when you are on time, whenever. The truth is, because you might need to discuss last minute details or be extra prepared for the situation you're facing, it's a great idea to arrive early. 4. Demonstrate That You Have Your Act Together If you've been involved in any kind of crime, it's important in order to convince the court that you both regret the actions and therefore are making strides toward increasing your life. For instance, if you're facing a DUI, volunteer for a rehab program. Be sincere and linked to the community the judge is presiding over. Working more closely with your legal team increases your probability of absolute success. Try this advice, listen closely to how you're advised and ultimately, you must win your case.

What Happened To Judge Mablean Ephiam Of Divorce Court?
I Have Been A Fan Of This Show For A Few Years And Judge Mablean Kick *** Good! So What Happened To Her?? Did She Retire Or Something? I Went To Watch It The Other Day And There Was A New Judge. What Gives?

Canned 'Divorce Court' Judge Cries Racism
Mablean says her hair may have done her in
By TMZ.COM STAFF
(April 7) -- Mablean Ephriam, who until recently presided over the syndicated television show 'Divorce Court," says that she was given her walking papers from the show, in part because FOX would not cut her slack when it came to styling her hair. "...When will FOX and the rest of America accept our cultural differences as African Americans and embrace us with all of our different hairstyles, hair textures, hair color..." she said in a "press conference statement."

FOX gave Mablean the boot after seven years because they say Mablean was asking for a lot more money than the network was willing to shell out. TMZ is told two million a year was not enough for Mablean, so FOX said farewell.

Mablean's statement veers away from salary and onto hairier issues. She says "the most unacceptable demand to me was when FOX said, 'There will be no changes in the current hairstyle to avoid time consuming issues regarding her hair." She believes FOX's position could violate Federal law, calling it "a racial and ethnic issue."

Mablean rhetorically asks why her hair was suddenly an issue: "Because of my ethnicity - African American, Black, *****, whatever term you prefer to use."'

Mablean adds that she wore a wig last season after losing a substantial amount of hair because of a chemical process gone bad. She feels that FOX wanted her to continue wearing a wig to save time in taping the show.

The former TV judge said there was another issue -- she did not want to tape as many as eight cases a day because "divorce is a very emotional issue." She was also upset that FOX would no longer pay for the show's holiday luncheon .

Finally, Mablean suggests FOX went after her personal assistant Princess and her daughter Darlene Allen (who ran the wardrobe department) by also firing them.

Mablean is being replaced by Lynn Toler, an ex-Ohio judge. Toler is also African American.

'Divorce Court' is produced by Twentieth Television, a division of FOX Entertainment Group. TMZ is awaiting an official response from Twentieth.

What Exactly Is A Trial Lawyer?
I'M Gonna Be Plain And Simple. I'M 15 Years Old And When I'M Older I Want To Put Bad Guys Away As A Lawyer. I Wanna Make My City A Better Place. It'S Turned To Crap. Lawyers Are Corrupt And So Are The Courts. However I Need To Also Make A Nice Living. What'S A Prosecuting Lawyer Vs A Trial Lawyer? And Yes I Am Well Aware Being A Lawyer Isint As Glamorous As Hollywood Makes It Seem.

Unless you live in an extremely bad city like Chicago, Detroit, or New York, the lawyers and judges in your city are going to be among the most reliable people you could meet. When we're hired, we are required by law to represent our clients to the best of our ability. Sometimes that means taking positions on our clients' behalf that seem unsavory, but that does not mean we are corrupt. There are always bad lawyers and bad judges, but generally we care very, very much about upholding the law and making sure the system works the way it's supposed to. We care about our profession and members who make us look bad are dealt with.

"Trial lawyers" are basically the people who are extremely experienced at going into court and deal with that side of things as opposed to writing briefs, dealing with pre-trial matters, or working on transactional stuff like contracts. If you're good, you can live very comfortably.

A prosecutor is a lawyer who works for the state in criminal prosecutions. You do spend plenty of time in a courtroom, but you also are responsible for pre-trial issues like admissibility of evidence. Prosecutors, being state employees, are paid very poorly.

Prosecutor Or Attorney? Is This A Felony D Or Felony C?
A Friend And I Were Arrested At The Same Time For The Same Crime On October 20Th. We Were Charged With Attempted Theft Which Is A Felony D In Missouri. Now On Case.Net It Is Has Been Changed From A Felony D To A Felony C. I Go To Arraignment This Monday. My Friend Is Scheduled To Go To His Preliminary Hearing At The End Of December. I Have Already Been To My Preliminary Hearing. My Case Is Moving Much Faster Than My Friends Case. Is There A Reason For This? Are The Trying To Pin The Whole Thing One Me And Let Him Go?

Missouri

Whether it is determined to be a C felony or a D felony depends on the market value of the stolen property at the time of the crime. Your case may be moving faster for a number of reasons, ie, attorney availability, criminal records of each, plea deal by one party to get a lighter sentence, or maybe his attorney has just filed for a continuance.

Criminal Court Appointed Lawyers?
Are They Any Good?? Do They Lie To Get You To Sign Right Away On A Plea Bargain? Man Question Do They Try To Scare You By Saying If You Dont Sign You Get More Time??

A defense lawyer, whether court appointed or paid on your own, represent YOU.

Court appointed lawyers may be overworked and not have a lot of time or patience, but they have nothing to gain by scaring their client.

If the lawyer thinks a plea bargain is the way to go, it's probably because he thinks there is a good chance the suspect will get convicted at trial, and get a longer sentence. Taking the deal means less time (probably) in the long run.

If the lawyer thinks he has a case he can win (or if the plea offer isn't much different than the average sentence at trial), he'll advise going to trial.

California Family Laws: Custody Battles...?
So A Girl Of Interest Lives In Ca, And She And A Guy Has A 9 Month Old Together, But They Are Not Married. In Looking Into Her Moving Over Here To The East Coast, We Wonder What Restrictions We Will Be Facing With Her And Her Son. She Was Once Given Advise That She Could Move Over Here Before Custody Is Decided Without Problem, And That Would In Fact Play In Her Favor For Winning Full Custody... That Sounds Bogus, But Who Really Knows? I Hope That You May. Besides That Scenario, How Should Things Play Out For A Successful Move Over Here To The East Coast?

If there is already a custody case in progress, then moving out of state, especially on a whim, could end up being very expensive, financially, and could cause her to lose custody of the child. Judges/courts do not like it when people do that, and they can get vindictive within the scope of the law. And, she'll need to fly back and forth for hearings, and since she moved, she may have to pay for *all* transportation for the child for visitation. She could also face charges of custodial interference.

I do have a question though - how well do you know this person? Do you know her personally, as in "in real life" or just from a computer and phone calls? If this is the case, then be very, very, very careful if she is asking you to support the move - it could be a scam.

If this is above board, then a move from the west coast to the east coast should not be an issue - just rent a U-haul and move the stuff; it'll probably take about 3 days of driving and cost about a grand if you do it yourself.
