How Do I Find A Lawyer In My Area That Won'T Charge Me My First Born?
A Lawyer For Medical Malpractice

Your #1 concern is to make sure the medical bills get paid.

THE best way to find a lawyer is by word of mouth. Ask your: family, friends, coworkers, anyone you might know in the same situation, etc.

OR

Call your local (usually county) bar association. Ask for names of attorneys that handle Medical Malpractice matters. (If money is a BIG problem, you could also ask for the phone number of your local LegalAid office. - the attorneys at LegalAid are "real" attorneys, but sometimes in the field of Law, how much you are willing to pay does affect the quality you get.)

When you call the law office(s), insist on speaking with the Lawyer. Just tell the Secretary the main idea of your matter - do not tell all the little details of your matter to the Secretary - save the details for the Attorney. When you get the Lawyer on the phone line, ask him/her:

- Do they give >>>FREE, initial consultations for the FIRST meeting? (most do, but not all - you have to ask, don't assume)
- How much do they charge?
- Could you make payments on your account? (Usually personal injury matters are paid AT THE END, on a "contingency" (percentage) basis.)
- Can they help you? OR Refer you to someone who can help you?

And be patient - medical malpractice cases can take 1 - 2 years or longer, sometimes.

Don't sign ANYTHING until you have consulted with an Attorney FIRST!!!

My guess is about 10% of medical malpractice matters end up in Court. BUT, when you go to a law office for a case, the attorney will immediately start preparing the matter as if it IS going to go to Court. Because they don't know for sure. So they start preparing the documents, etc. as though the case will go to Court.

This is very similar to a chess game - but this "game" is played out by the two sides involved in the matter. I have seen MANY medical malpractice cases get settled the day before the matter was scheduled for Court It is usually resolved by the attorneys playing out their chess moves.

I assure you, if I was injured in a medical malpractice matter, I would get an attorney to settle my case. But, then, I have worked with attorneys that do Medical Malpractice matters - and I know how hard they work.

One thing I want to make you aware of: When someone has been involved in a medical malpratice matter, a "clock" starts ticking. If you wait too long, nothing will be able to be done for you. My suggestion is to call a lawyer asap.

DON'T SIGN ANYTHING without consulting with an attorney first! Those insurance companies will try to trick you - beware.

Sometimes, medical malpractice matters DO take years to resolve. Ask your attorney how long it will take.

Good luck to you.

(This is based on my knowledge, information, belief, and life experiences. This was intended as personal opinion, and not intended to be used as legal advice. Seeking advice over the Internet is not a good idea - the field of Law is too complex for that. Please be careful and do your research.)

Is It A Good Idea To Have A Court Appointed Lawyer?
I Mean Or Is That Person Going To Confide With The Prosecuting Team Because He/She Is Not Getting Paid.

You asked: "...Is it a good idea to have a court appointed lawyer?..."

Well, if you have a court appointed lawyer, that means that you convinced the court that you could not afford a lawyer, and if you need to have one appointed, you're probably in enough trouble that you do need a lawyer, so yes, it is.

Even though a lawyer is not getting paid by you, he is getting paid by the court to represent you. And there would be no justification for him to treat your case any differently than any other.

Firefighting/Emt With Dui?
Ok So I Just Finnished My Fire Science Degree As I'M Striving To Be An Emt But I Have Two Dui'S, One Right Out Of Highschool Which Was Dropped To A Neg1 But Since I Was On Two Years Probations And Broke It By Getting Pulled Over While Drunk It Turns My Neg1 Into A Dui And Making It Two On Paper.. I Know I Have To Work Extremely Hard And Get Great Test Scores To Give Me The Best Possible Chance. I'Ve Also Done A Fire Academy When I Was 17 Giving Me College Credit So Its Been My Goal For A Long Time. I'M 21 And I Do Not Drink At All Any More Since My Last Dui Was Definetly A Life Changing Experience, I Also Play A Huge Roll In My Community Coaching 7Th&8Th Basketball And 7&8Th Grade Lacrosse And Have Been For Years. I'M Not A Bad Person, Not Violent I'Ve Just Made Some Youthful Mistakes And I Regret Them Deeply. I Would Like To Hear From Firefighters, Emts Or Paramedics. If Ur Just Some Random Person Not In The Line Of Work I'M Talking About Don'T Bother Answering, I Need Experinced Answers Please.

Getting a DUI at 17 could be overlooked with time (minimum 5 years) if you can show a clear change in behaviour and a solid employment record and community involvement.

2 DUIs starts to show a troubling pattern. In this neck of the woods, recruiting would not go anywhere near you until you were at least 7-8 years clear of any driving infraction (not so much as a parking ticket). Even then, these are highly competitive jobs. Out here, the smaller full-time departments will easily have over 100 qualified applicants for each position available. In the larger urban centres (bigger hiring numbers), that may drop to 25 qualified applicants for every position available. So even with significant time, good work record, etc, you'll be competing for a job against 24 others guys/gals for one position and most (if not all) of them won't have a DUI on heir record. Who would you pick?

This isn't to say you'll never become a firefighter, but it is going to be a harder road. Keep at it. Do everything you can to make yourself the best applicant possible but make sure you have a solid plan B.

Terani Law Firm Reviews?
Does Anyone Have Any Experience With Terani Law Firm? I Read Reviews That They Are Good Within Felony Criminal Charges So My Family Is Considering Hiring Them For My Brother. Hoping To Find Real Person Reviews.

Doing a little spamming of a law firm this morning? Look it is highly unlikely that anyone here has heard of them so go to your local BBB and Bar association and inquire.

THIS is not a referral service nor is it a place to spam by professionals.
