A lot of people do not think about acquiring a lawyer right up until they are in desperate need. The legal issue could be personal, like family law, for a divorce or separation or if you are looking for a bankrupcy or trust lawyer or attorney. It may be a felony circumstance you will need to be defended on. Companies want attorneys as well, regardless of whether they are being sued for discrimination, sexual harassment, or potentially unfounded business procedures. Tax law firms are also useful whenever dealing with government difficulties. Just like doctors, lawyers have expertise. A huge, full service law firm has numerous legal professionals with distinct areas of competence, so based upon on your personal legal issue, you can immediately retain the perfect legal professional to match your ongoing need without having to commence your search each time you need legal assistance. It is best to obtain a legal professional you can have faith in. You want one with a decent track record, who isstraightforward, reliable, and wins cases. You need to have trust that they will represent you the right way and bill you fairly for their services. Sometimes a referral from a friend or business associate can be very helpful, having said that you should hold your options open and review all the firms available, because when you want legal support, you need it immediately and you want the very best you can manage to pay for. Thank you for looking for a attorney with us. Your time is important, and Action Pages, at Actionyp.com, is pleased to produce specific search variables to meet your necessities. We consistently make an effort to concentrate on the most popular phrases so you can right away find anything at all you are looking for.

Legal Advice..Grandparents Law??
My Younger Sister Has 2 Children. She Takes Good Care Of Them But Her Boyfriend Can'T Keep A Job And Take Care Of Them All. She Can'T Work Because, She Stays Home With Kids. She Knows He Is Not Responsible And Wants To Leave, And Try Things On Her Own. His Mother Told Her &Quot;Don'T Even Think About Leaving My Son, Or You Might As Well Sign Your Kids Over To Me. I Can Take Them Because Of The Grandparents Law??? What The Heck.. My Parents Own There Own House, Vehicle And Have Steady Careers, Unlike His Parents. If Anything Wouldn'T They Get Custody Of Her Children..

Your sister need to give that loser the boot! It drives me nuts when people don't take care of their families and it drives me even more nuts when crazy ignorant family members make empty threats. The "Grandparents Law" is like an Urban Legend. It has about as much pull as Big Foot or the Lochness Monster. Grandparents just can't take someone's kids away because the woman (or man) left their child. If that was possible--how many people would still have their children?

P.S. I do love grand parents and in some cases they defiantely need to step in and help families. The grandparents law often pertains to visitation rights--not gaining custody of a child when the parents are able citizens. But in this scenario this is a scare tactic and it's load of bologna.

Help! I'M Desperate! Ex Boyfriend Trouble?
My Ex Boyfriend And I Were Living Together For Five Months. In That Amount Of Time We Took Out A Credit Card And Purchase Furniture And Other Items. The Credit Card Is In My Name And While We Were Together He Was Helping Me Make Monthly Payments. We Are No Longer Together, And He Will Not Pay For The Furniture Or Give It Back To Me. Basically I Am Being Forced To Make Payments On Furniture Only He And His Child Uses? My Ex Says That I Owe Him For Rent Which We Didn'T Agree On Nor Is It Written Anywhere. Obviously I Have Record On My Credit Card History That The Furniture Was Purchased And Belongs To Me. Right Now All My Things Are Sitting In His House And I Have No Access To Them. I Am Beyond Broke And Need Help Figuring Out What My Next Move Should Be? Thanks,

This belongs in SIngles & Dating or Law & Ethics...

Contact the police and see if they can help you get your things (they probably can)...if that doesn't work, then contact your local Legal Aid office and talk with them about it...they can give you legal advice and direct you to low/no cost legal representation should you need to go to court to get your things back...

Learn the lesson...no more joint credit card purchases (esp if you aren't married to the person)...

I Have Filed An Appeal To My Ex'S Getting Temp. Custody . Where Do I Go From Here With No Attorney?

Well, you have to file a brief with the court. The appeal's process is tougher than the trial process, you will really need an attorney. Just so that you understand, in the appeal court they do not retry the case. The appellate court is the court to raise discrepencies with the law, as a result you need to know the law to make an effective argument. Contact your local bar association, you can find them on the web. They will provide you with an attorney for free. You can e-mail me if you have any more specific questions.

Moving A Child Out Of State From Wisconsin To Massachusetts Legal Help?
My Friend Currently Lives In Wisconsin And Wants To Move Her Children To The State Of Massachusetts. Both Her And Her Ex Lived In Massachusetts At One Time And One Child Was Born There. It Was Stated In Her Custody Papers That If She Wanted To Move More Than 150 Miles Or Too A Different State She Had To Notify The Father Through A Certified Letter. She Sent The Certified Letter To Both The Court House And Her Ex Saying When She Was Planning On Moving, Why She Was Moving, Their Relationship To The State Of Massachusetts, Where She Would Be Living And Working And Etc. A Case Worker Was Assigned To The Case When The Letter Was Received. She Called After The 15 Days (It Was Stated In Their Custody Papers That The Other Parent Had 15 Days To Object The Move) The Case Worker Told Her No Objection Had Been Filed. She Also Told Her She Can’T Give Her Any Legal Advice And She Could Get A Lawyer. However My Friend Can’T Afford A Lawyer. The Father Has Had Major Drug Problems, Has An Oui, Breaking And Entering, Theft And Other Various Drug Charges. He Did Spend Some Time In Jail As Well. My Friend Is Also Concerned He May Be Using Drugs Again. My Friend Has Tried To Call, Text And Etc. But There Has Been No Response From Him. She Doesn’T Want To Go To His House And Have The Conversation Alone With Him Either (Afraid Of What He Might Do) Pretty Much My Question Is Can She Still Get Into Any Trouble For Moving. She Has More Custody...I Think It Is 57% Her 43% Him And They Have Shared Placement. They Were Also Never Married. There Is A Visitation Schedule And That Is What Is Worrying Me The Most…Because Obviously They Wouldn’T Be Able To Keep Their Current Schedule. She Is Also Afraid To Allow Him To See The Children Anymore Prior To The Move Because She Is Afraid He Is Messed Up On Drugs Again. Her Ex Travels To Massachusetts A Couple Times A Year Because The Majority Of His Family Lives There. The Children Both Lived In Massachusetts For A Couple Years When They Were Younger. They Have Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles And Other Extended Family That Live Within 20 Minutes Of Where They Would Be Moving. My Friend Is Moving In With Me. I Have A Whole Second Floor Of My House That We Don’T Even Use. They Will Have Their Own Bedrooms. I Am Going To Pay Her To Watch My Kids During The Day And Then I Will Watch Her Kids At Night So She Can Finish School (She Has A Semester Left For Her Associate’S Degree And Then Plans To Move On To Her Bachelors). We Have Known Each Other For Twenty Years And I Am Trying To Give My Friend A Helping Hand. I Am Also Trying To Provide A Stable Environment For Her Kids They Have Been Through Too Much. Just An Added Note We Have Searched High And Low For A Pro-Bono Lawyer...Free Legal Advice And Etc. It Seems Like It Doesn’T Exist. She Did Apply For Judicare (Income Based Lawyer Service In Wisconsin) But Was Denied…Not Because Of Income But Because There Are Too Many High Priority Cases. I Also Tried Some Free Legal Advice Hotlines And All They Do Is Put You In Contact With A Lawyer You Cant Afford. Any Advice On The Situation...Especially From Someone Who Has Legal Knowledge In The State Of Wisconsin Would Be Helpful.

Tell her to keep those custody papers that set out the 15-day notice period in a safe place within reach. She should write pop a brief ltr quoting the 15-day notice pd in the custody document which has now expired such that she is now legally allowed to assume there is no objection. Explain that the move nullifies visiting terms and that she would be pleased to review a proposal/s with counsel once the move is complete and children's routines are established. She should include a prospective date and address. She should state the basis of her reluctance to meet in person just as you have here indicating - and use these words - that she fears for her safety and that of the children. She be firm and business-like stating the facts, including restraining orders, charges, etc. but she should not be mean. Just the facts - no interpretation. This is an excellent way of proving proper, reasonable notice if there is any question later on. This way, too, the burden is on rogue pop to bring legal action and he'll have to do it from a distance.

Is Law School Only For Lawyers?
Could You Go To Law School To Become A Detective Or Investigator Not Just A Lawyer?

No. Many banking career people attend law school rather seeking an MBA. Real estate, commercial loans, negotiable instruments are a part of the law school class offerings. I imagine an investigator would benefit from the law of evidence, civil & criminal procedure, criminal law, torts, domestic relations. By its nature, a detective's job is usually in shadows of mainstream life and the mental toughness, I imagine, for that lifestyle would be a challenge for many people.
