Sex Crimes Defense Attorney?
What Is The Average Salary For A Sex Crimes Defense Attorney? One Day I Hope To Be A Partner For A Large Firm.. I'M Currently Attending University For A Ba In Psychology W/ A Minor In Political Science. I Actually Want To Be A Neuropsychologist.. Specializing In Sex, Sexual Deviance And Sex Therapy.. But I Would Also Like To Be Able To Defend Those Accused Of Criminal Sexual Acts. I Guess I Want Two Professions! Any Advice For Me?
A criminal defense attorney who is good and brings in clients, if working for a large well known firm makes over $300,000 a year. Getting to that point can mean many years of work.
Charged sex offenders do not tend to hire private attorneys. Without bringing in paying clients your firm is not going to allow pro bono work, especially for sex cases which makes for poor PR.
To really work sex offender defense you have to become a public defender. They make about the same as prosecutors. In my county about the same a police detective.
Your Legal Aid Lawyer Wants You To Plead Guilty To Aggravated Assault When It Was Truly Self Defense?
You Can Get Up To Ten Years In Prison If Found Guilty If This Goes To Trial -Otherwise You Get A Chance For 6 Months House Arrest, ('Can Leave The House For Work And With Your Kids Except For Night Time) Probation, Community Service, Anger Management Classes, Sensitivity Classes And The Risk Of Deportation Back To A Violent Poor Third World Country. You Have Never Done Anything Wrong Before This In Your Life-'Never Even Got A Traffic Ticket And Even Used To Work In Law Enforcement.

Or Accept A Criminal Record And Risk Of Deportation With Your Kids And A Bleak Future? You Really Do Not Think You Are Guilty Of A Crime But The Other Person Was Badly Injured And Your Injuries Were Minor In Comparison. Please Do Not Judge Or Be Nasty-Just Advise Me What You Would Do If This Happened To You -Ty.
Sorry, but there is not really enough information here to make that call.
Lawyers advise their clients to take one action or another based on what the evidence may prove or not prove. If the lawyer believes that the state's case is strong, based on the number of witnesses, the credibility of the witnesses, the forensic evidence and other evidence, the lawyer may advise the client to plead guilty in order to receive a lighter sentence.
That sounds like what has happened here.
But the decision belongs to the client and if the client disagrees with the lawyer and believes that he/she can convince the jury of his/her innocence or self-defense claim, then the client may decide to go to trial. If the client does this, he/she should hire the best lawyer available that agrees with the decision to defend the case.
The only "evidence" you talk about in your question, is the fact that the other guy was hurt worse than the defendant. This will not look good to the judge or jury, as you are only allowed to use the force necessary to defend yourself, not more.
If the other evidence is also stacked up against the defendant, he/she should probably take the lawyer's advice.
I Want To Be A Lawyer, Is A Bachelor Degree In Criminal Justice The Best Choice Before Law School?
I Do Not Know What To Major In Before Law School, Is Criminal Justice The Best Choice Or Is There Others And Why?
A criminal justice degree will neither help nor hurt you in law school. Under graduate law classes like constitutional law, criminal law, etc. are nothing like the classes you will be taking in law school.
Remember that being a good lawyer requires good communication skills, both oral and written. English majors tend to do well in law school, and analytical majors will tend to do well too. Also, most of your exams in law school are essay, so you need to be able to write well.
I think it's also important to study something you enjoy because grades will be a significant factor for admission into law school. On a personal note, when I was in law school, our top student was an English major, and the brightest student was a classical studies major...not criminal justice.
Someone Please I Need A Lawyer?
I Recently Was Arrested On Criminal Charges.. I Have A Very Strong Case But With A Public Defender I'M Going To Be Rail Roaded. And Go To Prison For Something I Didn'T Do. Is There Any Way To Get A Lawyer That Can Help Me. I Only Make 7.75 An Hour And I'M A Good Guy But Without A Lawyer That'S There With My Best Interest In Mind It Will Be All Bad.. Can Anyone Help?
Hey Guys Please Keep In Mind That Pro Bono Dosent Exsist In California
I dont think your going to find a lawyer on yahoo buddy, also keep in mind, anyone claiming to be lawyer on here, and gives you advice, is full of ****, no lawyer can give you legal advice without having you sign a client-attorney confidential agreement and they cannot advise you on matters without taking your case, they can be disbarred for that.
public defenders will most likely go for the plea-bargin, mostly due to the fact that they get over loaded. so your screwed there as well. and if you dident do anything, then you souldent have gotten arrested in the first place, but guit by association is 9 10th's of the law, you can be arrested just for being in a group of people that are breaking the law.
Lgbt: It'S A Question Of Trust?
Why Do Some People Have No Sense Ot Trust In Others Who They Are Supposedly Say They Care About?
Trust is a very fragile term, it's along similar lines of the word love and the meaning behind it.
Trust is something one gives and there are all levels of it.
For instance, I trust my boss enough to get the job/task at hand done. I also trust the fact that she will go at her own pace and do it when it is convenient for her.
In terms of relationships: I've been burned way too many times and trust for me is not something easily given.
I like the quote:
“Trust is like a vase.. once it's broken, though you can fix it the vase will never be same again.”
I have no idea who said it though
I don't trust people, I just can't. I love my family with all my heart, but I don't trust them; I can depend on them with my life but only on certain things, not entirely.
Sad isn't it? It's pretty much therapy worthy. But it's how I operate and it has worked for me thus far.
One can not demand trust or love, it must be earned, it isn't something to be given lightly.
That's my take on it anyway.
