My Fiend Is Given Legal Aid By Court However He Makes $65,000/Year. He Did Not Disclose It To The Court. Is It Ok For Him To Receive Free Lawyer? What Happens If Court Finds Out That He Is Not Eligible?
If he lied on the forms ,this person is in real , deep legal trouble with the court. Falsification of court documents and perjury.
You swear, when you sign on the dotted line, you are telling the truth on the financial aid forms submitted to the courts. Most times a public notary signs and puts their seal on the forms as well.
Lousiana Divorce Laws?
Once A Petition For Divorce Has Been Filed, Does This Mean That The Couple Is Legally Separated? And If You Are Legally Separated, Then Is A New Relationship Considered Adultry?
I was actually divorced in Louisiana. The petition for divorce is actually just the beginning. It is a process. You then have to be separated for six months from the time of filing in that Parish. Then, if you and the future ex can agree on how the monies are split up, the court will issue you a Decree or most probably a Judgment of Divorce. Then, you can begin a relationship. Be careful you do not start one before this time or your ex can use it against you in court if he finds out. However, only if he has proof that you are having sex with a new guy is this adultry.
Also, 30 days after the court says you are divorced(the date will be stamped on the Judgment) you can get married again, not before. Best of luck on starting a new clean, fresh life.
Second Degree Assault Charges?
I Got Into A Fist Fight And Was The Only One Who Threw A Punch, But Was In Self Defense Because The Guy Was Up In My Face. We Had Been Going Back And Forth All Day On Facebook And He Finally Said To Come Meet Him. He Then Tore My Shirt And Kicked Me In The Balls, He Didn'T Get Injured But I Dislocated My Shoulder. He Is Now Pressing Charges Against Me.... Second Degree Assault. I Found Out From Someone That He Is Supposed To Drop The Charges And He Wont Be In The Country The Day Of The Court Date. But Found Out That The State Still Pursues The Charges. I'M In Maryland By The Way.
This Is My First Offense And I'M A Responsible Kid, Going To School And Everything, It Was All Over A Girl. What Do You Think The Judge Will Decide Based On It Being My First Offense And The Other Guy Not Showing Up On The Court Date.
Right Now I Am Just Going With A Public Defender Because Neither Me Or My Family Has The Money To Afford A Lawyer. Should The Public Defender Be Fine?
I'M Kind Of Freaking Out.
If YOU were the only one to throw a punch, it was NOT a fist fight OR self defense. Being 'up in your face' is NOT assault.
If he kicked you, you were NOT the only one to commit assault.
You are not capable of dislocating your shoulder by punching someone without injuring them.
There are so many inconsistencies you your story, it is hardly worth stating that he CAN'T press charges. He can only file a complaint. The DA decides whether or not to press charges.
If you got in a fight on Facebook over a girl, and then met the guy and fought, you are NOT a responsible kid.
Good Questions For Student To Ask Lawyer In Interview?
I Am A First Semester Freshman In College, For One Of My Classes I Am Required To Interview A Person In The Career I Am Interested In. I Will Be Interviewing A Lawyer This Week And Would Like Suggestions Regarding What Kind Of Questions I Should Ask. I Was Thinking About The General Questions Like &Quot; What Made You Want To Become A Lawyer?&Quot;, &Quot; What Part Of Law School Did You Find Most Challenging & Most Rewarding?&Quot; Etc. But I Would Appreciate Questions From Attorneys And Perhaps Others Who Have Been In This Position. Thank You!
The questions you have are basic "nice to know stuff" however things can go deeper. If this is a criminal lawyer, a question can be: "how do you find yourself the ability to cope with someone who you knew did the crime, but you are fighting for him/her to the letter of the law to try and find a legal technicality so that person does not have to suffer the consequences of their actions, then to see how traumatized the victim is?
The law is always changing with different rulings. How do you and how much time do you spend on research of the latest "case law" or whatever else changes in the legal system? How do you stay on top of these forever changes?
Do you find the job pressures are too great to have the ability to balance a healthy lifestyle between pleasure and work?
I'm in school right now and will have a large student loan to pay off. What kind of money would a junior lawyer expect to make once out of college? Can there be expectations of paying my loan and enjoying life?
